Well what a big disappointment this store has become! Since the store moved premises recently they now only sell curtains. The larger store used to sell so many lovely gifts , bags, jewelry items and lots more plus even had a nice cafe...now nothing like the same. I was not surprised to see the shop was empty! Such a shame, I guess a sign of the times we now live in. I used to love the previous store so many lovely things to buy.

The Haberdashers Kitchen is situated on the 1st floor of Closs & Hamblin in Eastbourne. As well as Eastbourne, you will also find it in Brighton, Winchester and Canterbury. There was a delicious cake selection, fresh soups, light lunches, made to order sandwiches and hand crafted teas and coffees. The decor is like a cosy yet spacious tea room with pretty crockery.

The most helpful staff I've ever experienced! I had an idea of what I wanted which turned out to be a little complicated, however no less than three members of staff gave me a lot of their time and patience. Good, old fashioned customer service coupled with proper training and experience... you can't beat it. 😁

Disappointing lovely if all you want is made to measure curtains understand they will have ready made Laura Ashley curtains soon. But all the sewing knitting crafts gifts are all gone such a shame

I went in today to buy some fabric for some Christmas projects and the staff I spoke to were incredibly helpful and the range of fabric they have is amazing. The only downside was that the lift was out of order, but when I asked if there was another the staff member I spoke to offered to go and get me anything I needed upstairs. I decided to attempt the stairs and they had a chair on every landing for anyone that was struggling. I was honestly really impressed with the store and all the staff.

Very bad customer service, I was ignored with two of their stuff chatting how to help other customer. I only asked to get a ticket for a meter of ribbon which was already cut. However these two stuff of c&h left me alone and ignored I was there. When they come back where I was , I was still ignored. Like I was invisible, perhaps I was an invisible immigrant for them. If it was a immigrant doing this to them, we would have been rude, would not we? Racism is rising. Unfortunately this was not the first time I was treated like this in Eastbourne brach. The stuff is so arrogant and they not like tonserve at all. They always find and excuse to refuse you when you ask something. No-one of them multitasked or polite.

I have been into this cafe before and always enjoyed it, but not this time. Dirty and uncleared tables despite there only being about half a dozen customers. I had soup and a slice of bread as no rolls available. The soup was served in a bowl with it running down the sides it was hot but that was the only good thing about it. I asked for decaf tea and ended up with earl grey. Shall give this place a wide berth from now on.

Such a lovely café, the shop is a little gem. The cafe staff were so helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble and the cakes (some of them home made) were delicious, with a coffee thrown in for £3.25 after 3pm it was a bargain. Well worth a visit
