We've been here several times and it always delivers for both quality of food and wine and service. During our visit we tried the deli platters along with a small selection of the small plates. All of the food is of exceptional quality and the menu is versatile enough to allow you to try as much as you wish. You're spoilt for choice for drinks and we had the sparkling wine flight which is a selection of 3 different champagne/sparkling wines along with a couple of additional glasses of recommended red and white wines from the extensive menu. The staff even brought a free glass of sparkling for my Mum who was celebrating her birthday. Make sure you book.as it does get busy and, if thr weather is fine, the outdoor seating offers the benefit of sunshine too. Staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. If you like good food and wine, this is a must do in York.

We had such a fantastic experience here on a long overdue girl date. We ordered the sharing board and requested some help picking our three cheeses and three meats. We then got to sample 5 different wines before choosing a delicious bottle of red. I was very impressed with the service and the knowledge of the staff. The food was absolutely delicious and plenty for the two of us. The wine was also wonderful and surprisingly affordable. Can't wait to come back again.

Friendly service. WE did the wine & cheese pairing. Gorgeous cheese, delicious wine. A little over priced I felt it was closer to £20 in value as opposed to £25 but never the less we really enjoyed it and would go again.

Absolutely loved it here! The guy serving us was amazing (sorry forgot his name) he was so knowledgeable and friendly. The nibbles and wine were so so good and paired perfectly! I definitely recommend visiting here. The atmosphere is cosy and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. The prices are decent aswell which is a bonus!

My partner and I choose Pairings to celebrate our 5yr anniversary yesterday. We had contacted the bar in advance to arrange a table and took them up on their recommendation to try the premium pairings experience as a special way to celebrate the day. We had an absolutely fantastic time! Our server was Ellie, who was very friendly and welcoming and was clearly very knowledgeable about the wine she was giving us. She shared information about the regions where the wines were made, the different winemaking methods and how/why each wine was selected to be served with each course. The food was just as exceptional as the wine and more generous than we’d anticipated. We had the table for 2.5hrs and the experience lasted for most of this time. We cannot praise this place enough - well worth a visit if you are a wine and food lover, and the service is second to none.

We booked the premium experience & it was amazing worth every penny. Great place we would have not found. Definitely worth booking as full & had a waiting list. The experience we had was amazing from the moment we entered. Our host was Megan, she was brilliant, a great balance between detail & information. The food we had was lovely & the cheese & crackers was some of the best I'd had. The wines of course we're lovely. We also got the food & wine information emailed afterwards which was great. Dog friendly also. Highly recommend, would definitely go back. Our highlight of our York visit.

Absolutely fantastic- a must visit if in York. The service was brilliant, staff were really knowledgeable and even offered suggestions on other places to go in York. Wine was beautiful, loved trying the flight. The food was also incredible and really complimented the wine.

Went for the premium wine pairing here. An absolute must go if you're a fan of cheese and wine and you're in York - was delicious! Sam has been the best sommelier I have come across and made the experience. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and was happy to spend a lot of time talking to us and answering questions. He even emailed the wine list and recommendations for wine bars in London (where we're based) the next day.

Wanted to continue my wine drinking day and stopped for a flight. Had the very good Orange flight with a Mackerel pot. Excellent service, good music, relaxed atmosphere. Accessible restrooms.

Came to visit here based on the reviews and a love of wine and cheese platters. Trust me you need to visit here. It’s absolutely amazing!! Staff are friendly accommodating and knowledgeable. The venue is warm and trendy. The food is incredible. And the staff give perfect recommendations. A must visit when in York. Take my word and visit this place!!!!!!!! ❤️

Myself and wife just visited Pairings on Friday, what an experience! The food, absolutely incredible, would highly recommend the Truffle Cheddar & Hummus! Then the wine, absolutely delicious. Have already recommended Pairings to multiple friends & family members... We already can't wait to return. Top drawer service, 5*

We had the most wonderful evening here using a voucher we had for the fine wine experience and we also added the deli platter which had been carefully selected to go with the wines we were tasting. Our Sommelier was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and we could have chatted with him about wine all night. Every single wine we tasted was incredible and we were so grateful to be emailed a list of the different wines and their profiles so we can order them again and get a few bottles for home too. A really romantic and fun experience that we will definitely be doing again and buying as gifts. I would love to sit outside in Summer with a glass and a small plate as well. This place is a real gem!

An amazing way to end an evening with wine flights and well prepared deli bored. Staff were super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the restaurants offer. I think one of the meats we were served wasn't what we had picked, but minor compared to everything else that was spot on.

Had a lovely deli sharing board and and the White flights (rich and full). The meats and cheese were lovely as were all the accompaniments. The gentleman who served us was very knowledgeable and both staff were polite and courteous. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

I was very impressed by the food, the beautiful atmosphere, coziness and the vibe. Such a perfect place to have a drink with a great platter with a variety of cheeses, ham, olives, crackers, etc. As a suggestion, I would have loved the Yorkshire pudding and the bread sort of warm.

Had such an amazing experience! We did the food and wine pairing experience and I couldn’t recommend more! Abbey our sommelier was unbelievably knowledgeable and friendly and made our experience! The pairings were amazing. Best experience of eating out we’ve had in a long time!

An excellent restaurant and wine bar, even better than our previous visit. The food is exquisitely presented and the suggested wine pairings are excellent. The cocktails are very nice too! It seems to have become much more popular, so you'll need to book.

Cracking wine bar, wish we would have booked so we had a better seat, also wished we would have stayed for food. The wine we did have was exceptional and the staff were great chat about the selection on offer. Look forward to returning.

I visited pairings wine bar for their fine wine experience for a birthday celebration. Overall an enjoyable experience. Very well priced for the varied wines you are given paired with the knowledgable staff members who take their time to describe each wine in detail. A lovely little treat along with their deli board.

Beautiful little wine and nibbles bars. Lots of choice of different platters. I loved all the selections of wine flights. There was an amazing selection of different wines. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend.

Great little find! I would highly recommend it if you feel like having a chill night. The platters complimented the wine. The suprise birthday brownie was a lovely touch. The staff were friendly and it was a nice experience overall.

My wife and I visited York for our wedding anniversary in July and decided to go for the food and wine pairing experience at Pairings (so glad we did). I honestly cannot recommend the experience enough, it was absolutely incredible. Connor our Sommelier was amazing, we had a great time learning about the wine and food. It's one of the best experiences I've had and such good value for money. We will definitely be visiting again in the future. P.S. Apologies for the poor photography skills, I was enjoying the wine too much.

We were recommended by our daughter to try this place and it certainly didn't disappoint, We had booked for a set time but something came up and we needed to change (On the morning of the booking) the staff couldn't have been more helpfull. All the staff were extremely knowledgeable about both the food and the wine and were all so friendly. We choose the platter with 3 meats and 3 cheeses along with a lovely pork pie, olives and bread, we didn't have the wines to go with them as I'm not really a big drinker. My wife had the trio of deserts which she really enjoyed. All in all we had a fantastic time and certainly will return.

Visited here while in York for a couple of days. I had booked and very glad I did as it was busy and that was on a Tuesday afternoon. The staff were great and very knowledgeable in helping us choose our wines. The sharing platter we chose was amazing. I highly recommend if you are in York.
