This is a very nice RNLI centre. The FREE interactive walk though is great for kids and adults alike. Can you dress the life guards on the correct order on time or will you be too late. Can you save families at the seaside within the time limit? The shop at the end is priced well and some interesting items. You can climb into a mock life boat and experience what it's like. And fun room is fill of tablets and more games. Make sure you visit you will we joy.

What an absolute gem. I was exploring Barry on my own and looking for ways to pass the time when I saw the visitor centre. I thought it may just be for children but it absolutely isnt! I was given a tour by a volunteer (whose name I annoyingly didnt catch), and he was fantastically passionate about the RNLI's important cause. He knew the organisation like the back of his hand an enthusiastically shared so many experiences, anecdotes and advice. The exhibits were interesting and educational, and there was plenty to do for children and adults. I was only in the centre for about half an hour but I enjoyed every minute of it. The shop is lovely and bright too with some great little novelty items and also genuine aids that keep us all safe. If youre taking children to the beach, pop in for a safety wristband to keep your kiddies safer in the sea. I am so thankful for this organisation and all they do to keep us safe. We underestimate how dangerous the seas around the British Isles are, so we really must cherish the RNLI. Thank you for being the highlight of my day in Barry!

Unfortunately because of covid I did not get to go in the visitor centre, I did not get to talk to very friendly and knowledgeable people. I did not get to learn about the history of the RNLI or about the work that the RNLI does, and I did not get to learn about what is required to save peoples lives. After I did not get to do these things I went into the gift shop and had a lovely chat whilst having a nice browse.

Amazing, educational and a lot of fun for all the family in the visitor's centre, the only one in the country. A must see.

I visit this shop a lot .Not only to buy excellent gifts but the interactive & educational walkthrough part my grandchildren like very much especially the part where they dress at speed , which you can time to get ready for a shout. Obviously they are only pretending but the gear is real . I purchased lots of jute bottle bags and shopping bags , socks etc . All whom received were surprised & pleased because it’s different & multi use .Staff always friendly . Plus you are supporting Men & Women who voluntarily put their lives at risk to save others.. Thank you. Nicky .
