The single doorway with neon sign "Bourbon and blues" meant we nearly missed Billy bootleggers. The band were great more rock n roll than blues and my brother and I must have been the only people not drinking pint size cocktails which resulted in some very free spirited dancing we loved it

Great atmosphere and live band. My friend and I have both been tested positive for covid. Track and trace doesn't appear to work. We where both there 3.7.21. We where sat away from others in front row so at least 2 meters apart from others.

Always loved this bar and went to for possibly the last time on last Saturday. Still the same great atmosphere and amazing music that kept me coming back. Was sadly disappointed with the apparent disregard for social distancing within the venue and the prevalence of people wandering around without wearing masks. Would have stayed longer but felt very uncomfortable with how close people were getting to me. Hope they can get people back under control so we can all get through this asap.

Quirky little dive bar atmosphere, offers a range of cocktails with their own twists, especially the long islands with a wide array of changes to suit everyone. Live music is well balanced sound-wise and caters to a wide variety of people, more specially those rockabilly inclined, but enjoyable none the less. Large selection of spirits although the draught is a little lacking. Billy's moonshine is a must try, although just a cocktail, it still delivers a satisfying punch.

Over priced and over rated

My mam and I and my two autistic boys went for tea tonight, lovely clean place fabulous food and very friendly too. We will be coming back.

Did not realize this small chill bar would be just tucked inside Grainger Market. Nice place to listen to music and hang with friends. Sign said Blues and Bourbon. Cocktail drink was ok. Band played old rock laid back music mostly.

Great little pub, smells amazing due to the warmed up apple pie moonshine. Watch out the moonshine is a bit strong, but is £7 a jar. Quirky decor, have a visit.

What a hidden gem! I'd never even heard of this place before until a friend suggested it. Such friendly staff and good music. Covid rules all in place - so safe for those concerned over social distancing. A lovely atmosphere and a really nice place to drink.

Class addition to the already great area of ouseburn. Live bands bring the energy on the weekends. Happy hour and £5 long islands make it a nice midweek spot too. Will be going here more than a few times I reckon.

Billy's is a gem in the crown of the Ouseburn Valley. It's a top venue for drinks, food and live events! It's been great to get down there on a week day out of the hustle and bustle of town for the football on the big projector and screens. The food and kitchen is amazing! I've had the spicy beef burritos a few times and it's always so tasty and with good chips. Bar staff are friendly and know their stuff when it comes to drinks. You should definitely give it a go!

Better than the old Billy Bootleggers needed a space as big as this the whole time. Great music,drink and atmosphere. Go here instead of the centre of town. Was a deal on too 35 percent off to 20 percent mon-fri before 8pm. I'm still here on last Friday before Xmas paying way less than near by bars.

Nice cool quirky bar with live music

Compact bar. Great for whiskey /bourbon lovers. Live music on when we were there. Was rammed with people, a few too many for us as no seats left! The band were good. Certainly now on the list of pubs to return too next time we are in Newcastle. Quirky.

Great little pub, brilliant drinks and friendly staff

Fantastic. Drinks were reasonably priced. Loved the atmosphere. Proper old style American moonshine bar.

Unique little bar. Blink and you will miss it. Unfortunately the draft lager was off but they did have a small selection of bottled lagers. Other sore point was no toilet roll in the ladies 🙈. Reason for 3 stars! Tried the famous apple pie Jar. Very sweet and 'Strong'. Nice atmosphere in the bar, coupled by the distinctive voice of local singer Jonny Boyle. Throughly enjoyed his music and crowd pleasing. Staff friendly and assistive. Will come again with tissues ;)

I'm always hammered when I'm here but a well-run, great place with reliably good live music. PBR in cans if you like that kind of thing..

Nice quirky bar. staff were nice and the moonshine was cool. only thing that let the place down was the toilets pretty bad indeed.

When I went there was nobody in but it was very early on a midweek evening. Seems pretty authentic. Good food. hard to find it's in a cellar an American friend loves it and recommends it too everyone

Entered down a set of stairs listening to the music and wondering what we would find. Well we found a nice bar with very friendly people and staff and a great atmosphere where we could listen to live music and listen to some banter, fantastic time and a real mixture of customers. Definitely will be returning

Absolutely shocking service. Ordered drinks and understandably patient due to current circumstances. But 45 minutes later and told the they lost your order. Then tpld your first in the queue 8

Lovely restaurant, with modern chic decor. The place was very busy when we went as a group of six on a Saturday night. Starters were 2xPork Belly, 2x Crispy Squid, 1x Grilled Halloumi and 1xPolpette. The mains were 1x Fillet Steak, 1xPollo Stroganoff, 2xLinguini Tiger Prawns, 1xRisotto Pescatore and 1xPollo Parmo. This was followed by 2xCreme Brulé. While the starters were thoroughly enjoyed by all, unfortunately the unanimous verdict on the mains was 'bland'. The food was cooked well enough, indeed the fillet steak looked fantastic. However there was little taste in anything. Would I return? Probably, but not any time soon.

Shocking bouncer kicked me out just because I was hard of hearing. Grabbed me by the jumper in a way which was very uncomfotable and frankly inappropriate. Other than that a good night but too often at this place do bouncers not know their responsibilities and go beyond their power. I did nothing to warrant being kicked out

I’m really lucky to have Billy’s opposite to where I work. We go in often and the staff are always brilliant! The atmosphere is great, nice levels of music so you’re not shouting at each other. The range of drinks is extensive, 100% recommend an espresso martini. Food is always fast and really tasty! Try and get in for some love music it’s a brilliant location for a band! Thanks for the brilliant service last night, 100% started my Christmas break with a bang!

Fantastic little venue with some great live music on whenever I've been on the weekends. Great selection of original drinks and cocktails to match the theme of the bar and prices are good as well. They've even got a happy hour on from like 4-8pm every day of the midweek too! It's fantastic value and makes it my favourite place to go in Ouseburn.

Incredible place to visit, with a wide selection of drinks on offer and live bands that will blow your socks off. This venue just goes from strength. Ive heard they’ve had a change in management since September (good!) and I didn’t think it was possible to get any better but it certainly has! If I was wearing a cap I would doff it to the industrious and convivial staff that operate behind the bar. Just amazing. They’ve made me fall in love with Pickle juice so much that I’ve even asked my family for a jar for Christmas! 🤞 (PS also Great lighting in there)

Billy's is an awesome place to be fab music and atmosphere and im obsessed with the posters/adverts etc so fun! There's not much space indoors to sit down so got stuck in the outdoor bit which is warm enough and dry as its undercover the cover of the viaduct but it stinks as its a smoking area! That's the only downside to it but if you don't mind that it's fine! The alcoholic drinks are lush and prices really reasonable theres loads of quirky choices but not so many non alcoholic choices! It's dog friendly which is always great we were there with our son aswell on a Sunday afternoon was great being able to listen to some live music together.

Atmosphere is incredible in here. Great live music. Fantastic drinks and great offers. The staff make this place. I suggest you all get down for live music and great Bevs all night long! Billy's for life!!

I found the wheelchair access good the atmosphere was great live music was fantastic. Bar staff friendly and helpful Tim and Ashleigh . I will definitely come back in the New year .
