Amazing food. Always amazing. The atmosphere is lovely and great for any occasion the food is fine dining without feeling inaccessible. You can dress up or go pretty casual and not look out of place.

Had the most amazing meal. The staff were super friendly and the service was amazing. We visited on one of the pie Sundays and enjoyed a deliciously rich and well cooked venison suet pudding. They were very happy to help with my mustard allergy and I was able to eat all items on the menu. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again.

Absolutely well worth a visit, extremely good food, very well presented and the staff couldn't have been more friendly. I cannot rate this place well enough, and a really good tasting menu for £25? Worth every penny!

This restaurant has many thing going for it that make it perfect for me. Small, friendly service, an interesting fixed menu the bring your on wine. The food was excellent, with familiar foods served in new ways - tempura broccoli. Over the 7 small courses we were treated to some lovely food (it changes every month). The service was very good and really complemented the meal, with knowledgable staff able to explain each course and answering questions with enthusiasm. Highly recommended.

Excellent standard of food with a brief yet confidently simple menu. Intimate atmosphere; akin to visiting a friend or neighbour, rather than a bustling restaurant. Would definitely visit again should the opportunity arise.

Another fantastic meal at The Swine That Dines. Having flexed throughout various lockdowns they are still producing amazing food - including a smoked haddock dish that was delicious, and a repeat order of their signature custard tart. Very good wine list too.

Completely misunderstood what this place is about because of the name! It’s in fact a very unassuming, fine dining restaurant. The food was clearly lovingly prepared and absolutely delicious! The staff were kind and accommodating. Highly recommended!

It's been far too long since we last visited. The lovely warm welcome, the (as ever) amazing service from Jo. And, the food!!! Highlight was the Coley dish with so many layers of flavour. This place consistently delivers and develops each and every time we visit. Which makes me sound pretentious - quite the opposite of The Swine.

Amazing little restaurant. Food was so well thought through, incredible flavours, well presented. Great choice even on a smaller menu. Service was fantastic. Lovely team who clearly enjoy being there and care about their customers. A small number of covers gives a lovely atmosphere. Wonderful experience with great wine and desserts. If you're in Leeds, highly recommend booking a table here, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely food in a great setting. I'm always a little sceptical of small plates but there is plenty is go around and I could not fault the combination of flavours, just exquisite! Sofia was so personable and a great host. Great evening all round with a very reasonable bill. Looking forward to returning to see what other combinations the chefs can put together!

Brilliant food, awesome service, will definitely be back. Don't tell your friends as I want to be able to get a reservation 🙂 This is the reason I don't give other places 5 stars.

Unpretentious food, excellent flavours and unique combinations. There is a very cosy vibe - I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked in as it isn’t the most swanky restaurant but I was really blown away by the food.

We booked a table to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We didn't know what to expect, except that we had to take our own drinks, for which there was a £5 corkage fee. As we were shown to our table we were told that it was a vegetarian restaurant offering a 7 course tasting menu with optional extras. As each course was brought to the table, we were provided with an explanation of the dish. We chose to have the optional mushroom dish, which was really tasty. To finish, we had English apple cake with cider sorbet and nut brittle. Altogether, a really great experience and something completely different. Well recommended.

Lovely little place. Great staff. Small menu carefully considered and perfectly executed. Everything wonderful. Lighting could be lower (it was v bright) but other than that, top notch.

I'm here as I write this. I'm just so blown away I just had to write about it while the flavours are still pouring around my mouth and Van Morrison is singing in my ear. The Swine That Dines has just sky rocketed into the number one slot for restaurants in Leeds as far as I'm concerned. Jo and Stu are quite simply in a league of their own. They do what they want, as it pleases, and oh my gosh it pleases. I'm into some of the fancy upmarket restaurants further towards the center... But the cold hard truth is, the pale in comparison to the homely vyb, good times and exceptional food found in this humble 5 table eatery on the border of the city centre It's personal, it's beautiful, and it's oh so tastey. Chat to Jo about the food, she'll tell you all about it. Perfect front of house service. I had the ox tongue (the menu changed regularly) and it was without doubt the best dish I've had in Leeds. The wine list is amazing too! Just get yourself booked in.

Really flavorful I must admit. Although Drinks menu can improve. Definitely worth trying!

  • 5/5 Freya D. 10 months ago on Google
Went for dinner, with three courses for £29.50. The menu was short, and seasonally focused. I particularly enjoyed the ox tongue for main, which was tender, and served in a beautiful rich sauce. Service was super friendly and laid-back. Can highly recommend!

I relied on the reviews of other customers but was really disappointed with everything at this restaurant. Having a table where I was facing the wall didn’t help to start with but beyond that, the food was expensive for what it was despite the use of foreign words on the menu to make it sound more enticing. They could do with hiring more staff in the kitchen and focus more on customer satisfaction than keeping costs down as wait times were long and the space cramped. To add insult to injury, they had asked for a £15 non-refundable deposit per person and delivered a handwritten receipt at the end of the meal (I guess again to save on costs). And last tip, the name of the restaurant is terrible and when they collect the deposit the business name appears as “The Greedy Pig”, I guess that sums it up.

This is the second time I have been here after 6 years and it didn’t disappoint. Excellent, friendly and knowledgeable service. It really felt like the lovely staff were looking after you. Brilliant menu with an interesting choice of dishes, you will probably come here and have something you have never had before and love it! Delicious food and great restaurant setting. I’ll definitely be coming back when I am in Leeds again. A really special place.

Wow! This was an outstanding, superb dinning experience in every level. We were impressed by the authenticity and quality of the food. All the dishes were unique and incredible, not one single disappointment. So many layers of flavour and texture. Very pleased to see such a creative selection of non-alcoholic drinks. The cosy atmosphere and service were the icing on the cake. Perfect. This restaurant is far, far superior to others within the same price range in Leeds. We'll certainly come back!

Our new favourite spot! Everything about this place is lovely - the menu so well considered, the atmosphere relaxed and the service attentive and welcoming. If it's still on the menu - make sure to try the ox tongue. We enjoyed it so much we've booked again for when my parents come to visit next weekend :)

Really loved it here. Felt like I was eating at someone's house with the service being so homely and the lady who served us was super warm and inviting. Wish all restaurants had that warmth! The food did not disappoint and was definitely homely fine dining. Smaller portions but the quality was outstanding - could have eaten it ten times over. The server made it her goal to ensure as a lactose intolerant customer I had the same experience as my partner, so thank you for that! Will be back as often as we can!

Outstanding food ! Transforms from high end cafe in the morning , to extremely delicious exotic small plates in the evening under its alias The Swine that Dines . Book early its very popular, for good reason !

I've visited The Swine That Dines on a handful of occasions over the years and never been anything but delighted with the whole experience. Last night was no exception, despite the impact of the pandemic on the hospitality industry. Service from Jo is warm and welcoming with the emphasis on being treated as a guest rather than just a customer. The food is seasonal, contemporary and without a hint of the pretention that often accompanies modern cuisine. Stu, on his own in the kitchen, demonstrates his skill and passion for ingredients without putting a foot wrong in any of the dishes. The seven hour shoulder of hogget with anchovy mayonnaise is an unalloyed triumph. Taste this and you will never again give a rack of lamb so much as a sideways glance. This restaurant deserves to not just survive coronavirus but to thrive. I'm confident it will do just that.

Superb great value family run eatery serving 7 course set tasting menu which changes each month. Prices below are for two people not each! What it lacks in choice it makes up for in the quality and ingenuity of the cooking. Amazing flavours and combinations. BYOB with no corkage for a quality evening out. Booking essential and worth travelling a considerable way for.

If you haven’t been already you need to visit The Swine That Dines on a pie Sunday! ... Such lovely staff and a great choice on their menu (Which does change frequently). I went for the ham leek and cheddar pie, we shared a side of greens and mash between two! For pudding we had the cherry jam roly poly with boozy cherries which was delicious! ...This was my first time visiting the restaurant but I will definitely be back!

We had heard good things about TSTD, but our experience last night far exceeded our expectations. It started as we walked through the door, the aroma coming from the kitchen excited our taste buds and boy the food that arrived on our plates delivere. We had the seven plates tasting (standard), and we added the polenta dish and custard dessert. We enjoyed every plate, but our highlights were; chicken livers, chickpea, potato and ox tongue. On top of the food, the service was exceptional and the restaurant felt homely. Given most ‘fine’ dining restaurants can be quite stuffy at times, this was refreshing. Great price point too. This will be a regular on our dining rota in the future and we look forward to coming back.

We have previously dined in at The Swine That Dines on a number of occasions and have always been incredibly impressed with the quality of food for the price you pay. We had a reservation again to dine in but due to being in self isolation we were unable to attend. Instead I ordered the Swine @ Home menu and I was not disappointed. Jo was extremely helpful. She arranged to put the food in to an Uber for us as we were unable to pick up. She really did go the extra mile to help us.
