Lovely pub in gorgeous scenery. My work team and I look forward to a pint here to end most weeks. Most of the bar staff are really welcoming and friendly - there is always one. Haven't experienced anything beyond perfect chips yet but the menu looks inviting so I am looking forward to a roast perhaps.

Met some friends here for a casual drink and bite to eat. Smallish car park but nice beer garden with tables and fire pit. Inside quite nice with an amazing menu. When ordering G&T started off right by asking which gin but sadly still using Schweppes tonic !!! Selection of food on menu was amazing with some really nice starters and mains. Food when served was equally nice, really fresh and tasty.

Stopped off for an evening meal and stayed the night. Very impressed with the friendly service and quality of food. The room too was really nice. Clean and well presented. Breakfast was included and that too was delicious. If you're visiting the area and want to experience a traditional English pub that is close to Dover and Canterbury, give the Lydden Bell a go.

Out of the blue, we decided to go and eat out this particular Sunday. My son found this bar/restaurant and made the reservations. We arrived at an already busy restaurant. Obviously popular with the locals. Wasn't aware it had accommodation, so it was full, almost to the brim. We received a warm welcome. Offered drinks, whilst we selected our menu choices. Fortunately, our table was near the fireplace, as this was the only spot to see the boards around the surround. We ordered our food, which was very well presented. Cooked to perfection. This is definitely a nice place for a family meal. Although I was a little disappointed with the skingy portion of lamb I was served. It went further downhill from there, as we had to wait almost half an hour to see the dessert menu. Once ordered, after waiting for them to be served. Well, the cooks must have been in a hurry. These items were definitely not up to scratch. My crumble was warm at best. Others were disappointed with what was described as cookie dough. I get it. They were busy. It was nearing the end of the shift. I felt sorry for the two waitresses that were trying to get around to everyone. But even after all that, we had to wait again for the check.

Lovely little quaint country pub. Fabulous food and a good portion. Really nice space outside for children to play and explore. We didn't stay so I can't comment on the rooms.

An impromptu visit, but so pleased we did. Just down the road from the race track at Lydden Hill, is this little gem, which has staff of the highest quality, and food prepared fresh and quick. The young lady who served us was exceptional but sadly we are a 2 hour drive away or this would become my local for sure!! Well done Lydden Bell.

This is one of my favourite places for lunch. The pub is located on the outskirts of the village with ample parking. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is lovely and there is a varied menu to choose from at very reasonable prices.

We felt very comfortable at the Lydden Bell. Our room had all the amenities you could wish for; even a towel dryer was not missing! The food was excellent and we were served courteously. We will definitely be back! Thank you very much!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Lydden Bell. It had history and character yet very contemporary comfortable rooms. It had all we needed and more. As we had to leave very early a breakfast tray was provided for our room. We ate at the restaurant and the food was fabulous, would be good if they had more vegan options as vegan food was very limited.

Went for an evening meal. It's was excellent. The food was all very well prepared and tasty. The staff we're a well oiled machine, working very well together. Attentive when needed but not pushy. If we're ever back this way, I'm sure we'll be back.

Food was delicious and served in decent sized portions. Everything on the menu sounded fantastic - it was hard to decide what to pick! The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Venue is spotlessly clean and comfortable. We will definitely - be back thank you!

Stopped here for one night whilst visiting friends. The room was super modern, comfortable and clean. Under floor heating was very luxurious. The food and service at dinner and breakfast were fantastic. We'd recommend for a romantic break anytime but also saw a lovely family with a young child enjoying the place and people with dogs were made welcome too. Very reasonable pricing too.

What a fabulous, friendly, cosy pub and restaurant. Staff really nice and very professional. Sunday roast is amazing. Plenty of it and delicious. Both the beef and belly of pork so moist and tender. Excellent value. Most definitely worth a visit x

Lovely country pub! Delicious complimentary soup and breads to begin, followed by a truly tasty pork belly. For dessert, the chocolate orange mousse and Cointreau ice cream was delicious! Will definitely be returning in the new year. Enjoyed the Christmas cocktails too!

Had the most wonderful evening at this beautiful pub-restaurant, the food was exceptionally good. The staff were so happy and helpful. If you are looking to have a special evening, I would highly recommend this little gem of a place. Lovely fireplace, warm and welcoming.

We went for a roast this past Sunday. It was a above average one but the Yorkshire's were on the cheaper end and certainly not home made. Roast potatoes had the same vibe. The rest was nice. Chicken was over cooked though. Service was good and there was a nice atmosphere.

A lovely place to stay, immaculate rooms, great food both evening and breakfast. The only downside for me was a very soft bed but obviously that's personal preference.

Lunch was ok. Overpriced. I had mixed fish grill with "local fish", sauce was very watery. Other family members had steak which they all enjoyed. However the chips were very glassy, which is usually a sign of pre cooked and re cooking. One member of the staff we dealt with was exceptional.

Stopped of for a pint after work. Perfect crisp pilsner in a nice garden with a great countryside view. The barmaid was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to eat sometime soon.

Because of our holiday we ate at the Lydden Bell four days in a row. We enjoyed the meals. Nicely prepared, not too much salt and delicious ale! In addition, a friendly service. Great employees!

Stayed for one night prior to getting the Eurotunnel the following day. This is what I would call a country pub which is family friendly with large grounds for children to play. The rooms are all new with very modern fittings and found to be comfortable. Moderate size room, which is large enough for short stays. Good shower over a bath and whilst not a problem, the bath is very small and would have I preferred a walk-in shower. Had an evening meal and breakfast, both were well cooked and good value. Service was a little slow, but not when it tasted like everything was freshly cooked, so well worth any wait. Overall a great place to stay, excellent value and highly recommended.

What a wonderful spot away from the hustle and bustle of life. Really nice staff, good food. Such great spot to sit out and just enjoy being in an English pub garden. Would have been 5 stars, but thought starter's just a bit limited and no proper English beers.
