Delicious food and great atmosphere We ordered olives for the starter. We first ordered chicken and it wasn’t available. However, it was nice to try new things on the menu. Thus, I had a traditional french dish, tartiflette with a baguette which was delicious. The others had steak and vegetarian meals. The service was good. Although, we had to wait for quite a long time, it was worth the wait to have quality food.

Reservation is necessary as many people were turned away. Must try place. Specially the onion soup it was delicious. Would definitely recommend it. Staff were friendly and helpful. I was in a hurry and informed staff who were responsive and made sure everything was served asap.

Food was absolutely delicious! I can’t think of anything that wasn’t amazing. Service was great and the view of the Cathedral is just an incredible backdrop too!

Stepped in for lunch out of the rain to a very warm welcome. We dined upstairs where the ambience is slightly different - perhaps, slightly more cosy? Upstairs seems lighter n busier, esp if you're by the cathedral facing windows. The waiting staff were excellent. The food was good too - we had starters, mains and 2x desserts. The bill came to £123 for 3 of us, incl 10% service charge.

Best pork belly I have ever had! Also, the duck liver parfait with apple chutney and baguette was so good🤍 Good service from the staff. Nice decor. Great value.

Excellent view from this well run restaurant in the centre of Exeter. The food is reasonably priced and of a high standard. I only drop a star because they have stopped the lunchtime plat de jour menu which was always a stalwart of this French style restaurant. Bring it back.

Over the last 3 years we have eaten in a lot of restaurants in Exeter and this was far the best. Everything was 5 star food ,service, and atmosphere .just a shame my daughter has finished uni so I don't have an excuse to go back

Date night, picked Coté now we have been here before and it's always been consistently good, they have revamped the menu and it's good, I had the garlic Calamari..fresh, crispy and lots of it, Clairo (my wife) had the beetroot salad which she really enjoyed. Mains... I went with Monkfish with roasted peppers and creamed spinach.. delish...Clairo had Mussels..can't really mess up .. those. The food was good here comes the but.....the tables are to small and to close together to the point that the servers struggle to get through... And I did feel a little bit rushed. In saying that it's well worth a try and we will go back again.....p.s. they do do a great breakfast 😁😁

Amazing interior. It's over 3 floors, we expect to be on the ground floor but we're on the second. Nice views of the cathedral green. Large menu, i am vegetarian so not many options. Still very nice!

Our daughter invited us for lunch to this sunlit restaurant with the wonderful view of the Exeter cathedral. She had dined two times already and advised us to have Duck l’orange, Sea bream, Beef tartare which all were excellent. We especially appreciated food served beautifully hot which is rare in others places. Service was great and we would definitely come back again to sample other dishes! Thank you very much

The service was great and the food was really tasty but it is a bit too noisy upstairs. Happy to recommend & revisit.

This is a great French restaurant in Exeter. The service was first class. The waiter was very helpful to explain the menu. The fish stew was amazing. Don’t forget to book a reservation in advance as we went on a Monday night and the place was buzzing. Well done to the management and staff.

What a fabulous evening we had at our first time at Cote. From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated like VIPs. Service was exceptional & staff were informed & attentive. We like to know the people who are looking after us and Matt made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious: Crab Maison, French onion soup, confit pork belly, beouf bourguignon & veg with a glorious bottle of Muscadet made for a tremendous evening, watching people enjoying the Christmas market. Although it was very busy, at no time were we neglected or made to wait. The lovely, relaxed vibe along with great food gave us an evening we'll not forget. We'll be back as soon as poss. Thank you all.

Really friendly and kind staff. Food was amazing, had the pork belly for main and the crab and calamari for starters. Highly recommended this place for good food in Exeter with a lovely view of the cathedral

A high end restaurant specialised in a small range of seafood and wine. The waiting staff is professional and the decor is decent. I would advice against ordering non-seafood products as they can be found cheaper elsewhere.

This was a Saturday lunchtime at the Exeter branch of Côte, next to The Cathedral. Great service despite our not having booked and being pretty busy on a sunny March day. As always, a decent menu and our choices arrived in a timely manner. Staff very friendly. A very good experience in a tourist hotspot.

What a fantastic place for a lovely night out. We ordered the Côte du Boeuf as our main to share and it was cooked to perfection. It was accompanied by two portions of frites as well as two additional sides (we chose ratatouille and sauteed garlic greens). It was the perfectly amount of food to follow the charcuterie board as a starter and (most importantly) leave room for dessert. For dessert we had the warm chocolate fondant - which oozed splendidly - and the salted caramel tarte - which was dense and delicious. The service was impeccable with the staff having a fantastic balance of friendliness and professionalism - giving us time and space when needed or chatting about the menu/restaurant. The atmosphere was calming and the lighting was intimate without being too dim. We thoroughly enjoyed our night out and we will definitely return for our next special occasion night out!

We booked to have breakfast in the week, we were greeted to a lovely warm welcome by Nina and was able to sit down where we wanted. Unfortunately upstairs wasn’t open but we sat down near the wall on a lovely table. Angel was our server who was great and gave us everything we needed. We ended up choosing to have the Eggs Royale and a Pain au chocolat which were both great and very tasty. And were a perfect to start the day. We were made aware that they could only expect card payments when we sat down which okay and no bother at all. Service charge is added automatically and we were more than happy to pay this!

I’m arrived to Exeter and I was worried about finding a place to dine. Cote is what I wanted: beautiful location, overlooking the cathedral, very welcoming and professional staff, especially Claudio the maitre, good menu and excellent food. In short: to try!
