An unplanned trip with my little son turned out to be a good spent noon. We loved seeing the animals grazing, eating or climbing rocks. The lazy tigers were a little away, but we enjoyed the snow leopards. I totally recommend this park for families that want to spend a few good hours with the kids. Thank you!

This place is fantastic. In comparison to other wildlife parks, this place is priced very well. You really do get a great day out for the price. High Five to David on the front gate, he is awesome! The drive-through safari was a little underwhelming. However the walkthrough wildlife trail was superb. Snow Leopards, Tigers, Polar Bears and so much more. And all surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands. Impossible not to recommend this wildlife park!

Whenever we visit the area we always have a great day here. It's changed over the years and it seems like a good place to be an animal. We enjoy the drive through area. Wolves are our favourite. We saw the elusive Wolverines this time. Fantastic. Thanks.

Went here recently. We didn't have very great weather, but was still a decent day out. However, there is an area of the park in which you can drive through in your own car, we drove through twice (as you can as often as you like during your visit) we mostly saw empty fields, stretching for miles across the horizon with absolutely no animals in sight.. feeling like we'd been tricked into driving through empty enclosures for a laugh. We eventually saw a few horses which were very friendly and tried to stick their heads through our windows, and some bison and a few deer but this was about it, for the sheer size of this drive through area, they could have hundreds more animals than they do, it was actually quite a joke, just felt like we were having a drive through endless empty fields. There's tonnes of grass and plenty space to have lots of animals around, but sadly they dont. Apart from this disappointment the majority of our visit was really nice. Seeing the polar bears, wolves and tigers was absolutely great, it was a huge pleasure.. we were even lucky enough to see the 3 tiger cubs, which was totally amazing!!! Alot of the park is uphill which can be quite tiring, so would definitely recommend some regular breaks throughout your visit. Majority of the enclosures are quite overgrown so was quite difficult to see some of the animals, but eventually we managed to see everything, which was great! Definitely try go back to all the enclosure at different times of the day, to maximise your chances of seeing all the animals while you are there.

Absolutely loved it. All animals were well looked after and cared for. The staff are amazing and so helpful. One member of staff took me to the snow leopards explaining the best place to spot them. She was lovely I saw her talking and explaining things to other people and answering questions very professionally. We saw almost all the animals in the park we just had to be patient and quiet, so not to disturb them. A lovely place to visit I highly recommend it. November 2022.

Visited during a recent staycation but fair to say that having now been there I probably wouldn't rush back. Not to say that it is any worse than most other zoos but I just didn't feel all that comfortable there, if I'm honest. Seeing the animals made me feel uneasy but I'm not sure if that reflects my changing attitude to zoos in general? Not that I knew I had any! The park layout is slightly unusual with the car park being in the middle and various "exhibits" spread out in all directions. Main attraction for most people is probably the polar bear which looked a little out of place in an overgrown field type of enclosure. Might just be me but a white polar bear against a green, grassy background just didn't seem right? There is a drive-through section with a few random animals dotted around but nothing too exciting. Some of the horses came over to the cars in front of us and stuck their heads through the windows so unsure if they were being fed or just being nosey. You can drive through this area as often as you like which gives the opportunity to see different animals throughout your visit. For anyone who loves zoos this will probably be okay but for me I think I'll give zoos a miss next time.

It's such a wonderful place to visit and experience. I love the fact that each of the tenants have such nice surroundings according to their sizes and needs. I became a fan of Dominica and her cubs, they're awesome! I'd definitely go back. All the regulations in place. The facilities are super well kept and spotless.

Worth the visit. (Not too many animals though). I do stand corrected on that statement, that comment was only based on its comparison with other safari parks I have visited which is not fair on this part of the land in Scotland where so much is being done by the conservationists working at park day and night. And I truly appreciate the impact it has on the nature and for people to realise that by visiting such parks. I would strongly recommend to visit and see the wonders of nature via these animals yourself. You can cover both on foot and car. Car park and food stalls to eat and drink. Kid friendly.

We have a lovely day at Highland Wildlife Park. The park has two sections - one drive through and the other is on foot. The animals seemed well cared for, and enclosures were more spacious than most zoo's. The cafe had a good selection of hot and cold food. Plenty of toilets. Definitely worth a visit.

What an amazing place, we spent over three hours there and we enjoyed every minute of our visit. The weather was really good. Lovely views and surroundings scenery is outstanding. The park is divided into two areas, you can drive around the main reserve in your own car and then investigate the walk area on your foot.

Lovely wildlife park, in magnificent Scottish surroundings. Stunning views from around the park. Lots of hills around the enclosures. Wear good walking shoes/boots. There are polar bears, tigers, wolves, wolverines, Scottish wild cats and lots more. Excellent cafe with fantastic food and cakes, Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Our third visit to the park and we loved it just as much as the previous two. Always lots to see and very lucky to see the tiger cubs and many other up close encounters. Met various staff who kept us informed about the different animals and were great with the kids. Final wee pop into the shop to pick up new hoodies to replace the old ones which have been great and the youngest loves her new animal water bottle.

Fantastic place to visit. The stunning backdrop of the highlands only adds to the experience. The enclosures for the animals were really big and you couldn’t see any signs of stress in the animals. They have some great species to see which I hadn’t seen in a zoo. Before such as the polar bears and arctic foxes. Loads of information on the animals and lots to see. There is a good drive through section as well as a lot of walking around. I would advise being prepared for a lot of walking and take decent footwear. The tigers currently have three cubs which were great to watch playing and chasing each other. The staff were lovely and one lady there especially. You could see the passion she had for the job. She spent a lot of time talking to us about the zoo and the various animals which she knows everyone by name as well as their habits. As we walked further around she was happily engaging with another group. She is an asset to the zoo. There was one of the cafes open which offered really good value food, a steak pie for £2.50 was one option. Plenty of seating was available in an outside marquee. The only let down we had was that after walking almost all the way to see the female polar bear there was a rope across closing it off. It would have been nice to have a sign up to advise of this before making the long trek.

Fantastic park. The drive area is great (unless the horses feel belligerent, which they often seem to be, well, not great for the car that irked them but fun for the other visitors), and the walk areas are amazing. Got to see the male Polar bears feeding, awesome sight. The tigers, the wolves, all wonderful. And the staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Would rate 10 out of 5 I'd possible.

A great day out. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Coffee is decent and the animals are the stars. Recommend doing the car safari then a walkabout. After your walk, go and do the car safari again (if you have time) before leaving. We managed to catch the animals we missed the first time round. Also, try to catch a tour/talk (male polar bear was a real favourite), and remember the camera/binoculars!

I have always wanted to see Scottish wildcats and this is the place to do it. We had a lovely time and it is a big park so plenty to see. The food from Antlers cafe was good too.

First time visiting here and we had the most wonderful day. Such a big, open park. The views are stunning and it helped that the weather was gorgeous. All the animals are very well looked after, their enclosures are huge and we loved hearing about all the breeding and conservation projects going on. Most of the animals were asleep or in their dens when we first arrived so it's definitely worth going round a few times to catch your favourites when they're up and about, and ask staff about feeding times and talks as the animals were definitely more active during those moments. Staff couldn't have been more helpful when it came to spotting the animals. Lorraine in particular was lovely, really enjoyed listening to her talks about the animals and she was so nice to just chat away to. Food from the Tomintoul Venison burger van was delicious! Just all in all a great day out 😊

I really enjoyed my visit at the Highland Wildlife Park. There are some beautiful and magnificent animals. Coming in the midst of Winter was ideal to see them all in all their Winter coat glory. I have loved photographing them. I hope my photos do them justice! I would like to return in a different season to see how they change.

We had a fabulous day here. There is so much to see. You can drive around in your car for part of the experience and then also walk around the rest. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable. It was a very hot sunny day and we expected the animals to be sleeping in the shade but we managed to see them all. Seeing the polar bears, elks, wolves and Scottish wild cats up close was amazing. All the animals look very well cared for and their enclosures are huge and very natural. There is a cafe on site and a couple of food stalls selling hot and cold options. The toilets were clean and tidy. There is a play park beside the entrance and plenty of parking. We were here from lunchtime until closing, but this could easily be a full day out. Tickets are reasonably priced and good value for money. It was interesting to see and hear about the conservation work being done to protect the animals from extinction.

A wonderful place with beautiful scenery. Plenty to walk/drive around to see. Plenty of animals with incredible facts from the staff. So glad to see a place that will help with the polar bear population and other animals. Liked watching the 2 male bears (Walker and Arktos) devour carrots and apples. Worth the journey. Also Moss was cool

Had a great day at the Highland Wildlife Park. All the animals have large habitats and appear to be healthy, active, and well cared for. The park features mainly cold-weather animals which fit in well with the scottish highlands climate. Zookeepers were very friendly and happy to answer questions. The gift shop was a gem as it features art of the animals done by local artists.

Lovely day out. We saw all the animals (with one exception) which I often find difficult at places like these, especially in rainy weather when the animals are inside. All the staff were friendly and approachable, Stuart the Ranger was fantastic. Very informative, and was engaging during his talks. We didn't use the cafe but ate at the Venison Burger Van. The food was lovely, with a surprising two vegetarian options. (Again, normally we have no luck with vegetarian options at vans like these, so was very grateful for the options). Service was quick and staff friendly. The drive through safari section is a great addition, and was great to see a good range of animals up close! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

We were thrilled to discover that along with the famous Polar bears , this park is home to some of the rare endangered species from around the world. Examples would be The "Markhor"(translated:Snake eater) , The Snow leopards and Amur tiger. We especially travelled to. Scotland from Cardiff to visit these amazing creatures. It was a wonderful experience , staff were friendly and helpful. Couldn't ask for more. Sad to read some reviews saying it's a waste of money. Perhaps the importance of the above mentioned animals should be further highlighted. Would love to return to Scotland once again to visit this place. Thank you Mona

Best day out ever, Brodie the star of the show with his aquatic antics. But don't forget about his dad and uncle, who were a comedy duo Laurel & Hardy could only wish to be! Animals all seem healthy and well looked after. We will be back for a winter extravaganza!

We had a wonderful day at the Highland Wildlife park, and thanks to the snow plenty of the animals were out and about enjoying themselves. It was truly a treat to see how well loved and happy they are.

Loved this park, not the run of the mill zoo animals. Great to see polar bears, snow leopards & artic fox's. A must do if near the area

Highland Wildlife Park, on arrival the car park seemed busy but once in it did not feel overcrowded.  Staff we engaged with were all helpful and friendly.  Great day out for the kids seeing lots of different animals from a typical zoo.

My favourite place to see 'wild' animals. The enclosures are always spacious, well kept and designed with each specific animal in mind so they have a great quality of life mimicking their natural environment as much as possible. Animals always seem happy and relaxed. It has set the bar high for other parks, you can tell the animals are really well cared for and truly loved by keepers.

What a fantastic place! Have just spent an amazing day here. The staff were fabulous, especially Dane who seemed to be everywhere all day, answering questions, talking to people, giving lots of extra information and generally making our visit even more memorable. The animal enclosures are great, and the animals all seem to be extremely well catered for and looked after. Even though there's a lot of building work going on we had an excellent day. Can't wait to come again and see all the improvements. Would 100% recommend this place. A must see.

A great day out, we were really looking forward to visiting and it did not disappoint! The enclosures are spacious and natural, no silly rainforest-painted walls here, and all the animals are active and healthy-looking. We were especially pleased to see the snow leopard cubs running about and play-fighting, and the polar bears are always a fantastic sight to see! The picnic facilities were good, with a cafe and a couple of food vans available for hot food too. If we find ourselves in the Highlands again we'll be back for sure!

Visited in May 2023, was a really good day with lots of animals to see and nice walkways, the cost is slightly on the expensive side for entry and cafe etc but understand that it is a conservation site, good the place takes cash, staff were nice and friendly there and was great you can go around the drive through safari as many times as you want as well

  • 5/5 Stacey H. 1 year ago on Google
This was a great treat for our daughter after days of looking at castles, haha. A really unique collection of animals on a wide amount of space. Really enjoyed the polar bear exhibit. And it's fantastic to see a snow leopard. There's a section you can walk around in, as well as a section you drive through in a vehicle. You can eat at the cafe or pack your own lunch. We stopped by on our way from Edinburgh to Inverness. Highly recommend.

I absolutely loved visiting this park. From the amazing up and close walking enclosures to the drive through experience. The animals were amazing and the staff knowledgeable as well as some lovely talking animal experiences to see the baby polar bear feeding (who wasn't a baby polar bear with the size of him but was still a baby all the same). The Wolf Wood was wonderful to walk through and seeing the wolves play fighting. The shop was quaint and not expensive with lots of reusable and sustainable products. Lovely range of food and drink vendors and places to sit as well. I can't wait to return when there are more babies as some animals were either pregnant or hopefully getting pregnant in the near future.

This place is fantastic. I don't 100 % agree with zoos/safari parks, but this place is so nice. There is a relatively short drive-through and a chance to park up and walk around. It's interesting to see animals that aren't seen in English parks (that I'm aware of) such as the Scottish wild cats.

  • 4/5 Kesja s. 10 months ago on Google
A great place for a walk and observing wild animals, the only one we didn't see was the red panda. We had a chance at seeing the feeding of polar bears. The kids were having a blast. Recommend for all to spend a day here.

We had a great time visiting this week. Our little boy loved the wolves 🐺 especially as they came right up to the fence and stared right at him 🤣 It’s a little muddy so take good boots 🥾 or wellies. And expect to walk a good wee bit to see everything. It’s well worth the visit. We saw every animal advertised apart from the red panda as their enclosure was being renovated.

  • 5/5 Nico I. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely beautiful setting to observe animals!~ drive through one portion, walk through the other and enjoy the gorgeous views throughout. We completed in 2 hours but were moving quickly; 3 hours needed at a slower pace. Staff is very friendly and helpful! Polar bears, snow leopard and her babies, and the large owls were personal favorites!

  • 5/5 JC J. 1 year ago on Google
A great place to take the kids and to get close to the animals. The views are beautiful and the animals are well looked after and have plenty of space to move. You can get out the car and walk around or drive around in the car. We did both 😄 🐐🦬🦆🦌🦫🐑🐃

Absolutely excellent place, we came recently on your evening events and really enjoyed it. The park itself is awesome and the zoo part amazing too. So many highlights, Tigers, Polar Bears, Lynx to name a few. The animals look very well cared for and happy. Definitely recommend a visit, the staff are excellent, knowledgeable and passionate.

Really enjoyable day with affordable cafes.. the animals all look healthy and in good spirits with nice roomy enclosures. A very affordable place to spend a good few hours.

  • 5/5 Yu Ching L. 1 year ago on Google
It was a really special experience to drive through parts of the park and see the animals up close. The keepers made a huge effort to ensure that the animals are well stimulated. We chanced upon the wolves feeding and the keepers had a special system to keep the wolves engaged while feeding. They also had a programme to reintroduce the wildlife back to their natural habitats, so for instance the beaver enclosure was empty for this reason. Among the zoos we have been to, this takes one of the best care of the welfare of the animals. Do purchase tickets in advance for a seamless entry. Highly recommend it!
