We had dinner at this lovely place. The waiter was very kind and charismatic, which absolutely contributed to the ambiance in the restaurant. The dishes were of good quality and were "complex"; a lot of well chosen, special and tasty ingredients. The pricing is fair. (The pigeon starter is very tasty, I forgot to make a picture)

We had the Christmas meal deal and were completely taken-aback by how good each dish was. From moist, yet cripsy pork belly to well smoked salmon, duck and haddock. Faultlessly seasoned, great tasting and good portion sizes left us feeling full and satisfied. Will definitely visit again in the new year.

Me and my friend attended on Christmas day. I must say the food was absolutely stunning, the services was spot on and I'll definitely be back. I'll give it 100 stars if I could! Thank you so much for making our Christmas special.

Food is 10/10 had the pigeon breast to start and the ox shin special, delicious. Such a nice cosy vibe and love that there's a wee bit of a story in the menu.

The venue is small so I would recommend booking. The food is tremendous and the staff are so nice. What’s not to like. Will definitely being coming back for more. The desserts were delicious we had the chocolate fondu, sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble and oh so delicious custard and the cheeseboard. They were all fantastic and to be recommended.

Super tasty food and a fun, quirky venue. Staff were great, very friendly. Starters were lovely and big portions! The scallops with black pudding were a favourite. We ended up having the specials for mains - the smoked pork belly and the fish of the day - which were both delicious. Would recommend for a special occasion or just a nice meal out.

We went as walk ins, because we were on the first day of our holiday and unsure when we would be hungry. There were 2 servers working together, both were warm and friendly and helpful. We tried to the Goat cheese salad and the chicken breast with haggis. As well we had the rhubarb and Panna cotta dessert. Everything was beautifully presented and the flavor matched the presentation. We would happily recommend this place to anyone

Great restaurant in Central Glasgow. Had the mutton - it was fantastic. The stuff was friendly and always checking in on us without being over bearing. Will definitely visit the next time I'm in Glasgow.

You absolutely MUST dine here if you get the chance! Leo greeted us at Fanny Trollopes. He was incredibly friendly and attentive. The venue was intimate and relaxed. We were seated in an extremely comfortable booth which had enough privacy but that also allowed us to soak in the buzz of the venue. The music playlist was perfect and was played at a non-intrusive level. For starters, we had celeriac and blue cheese soup and the falafel. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! The portion sizes were reasonable and very much worth the price! To note, our booking was a later, last minute arrangement. The restaurant had run out of bread (that was to be served with the soup) and they went to all of the effort to go out and get more just for us! On top of that, they even took the soup off of the bill for the inconvenience (the bread was non-issue to us but this gesture was appreciated all the same!) We ordered the special of the day (chicken in a creamy mustard sauce, mashed potatoes and greens) and the market fish of the day (they had ran out of the original dish but they made up a dish specifically for us which was coley in a sauce with mashed potatoes and greens). Again, the portions were hearty and left us satisfied! We also had truffle parmesan fries on the side to snack on. They arrived to our table freshly fried and piping hot! At the end of our meal, Leo offered us a free tea or coffee (to compensate for the service which, to clarify, we had absolutely zero complaints about!) Leo had been the perfect host all evening and the kitchen staff had produced the incredible dishes for us! Fanny Trollopes is a must try in Glasgow. Unpretentious and delicious food plated beautifully (and generously!) in a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere. We will be recommending Fanny Trollopes to anyone who will listen and we eagerly anticipate our next visit! Thank you for a wonderful dinner!

Great service, fantastic food. The rainbow trout with wipped goats cheese was unusual and outstanding. Deserts a great end to a really good meal.

Great service and delicious food! The waiter was soooo nice to us. We absolutely loved the food - Thai noodles and scallops as starters, steak (dad), salmon (mum), and sea bass (I) for mains, and we enjoyed cheese board and biscotti as desserts. Everything was just perfect!

Went with family for a birthday dinner, eight of us on a very busy Saturday at the start of December, the whole experience was faultless. The staff super warm and friendly without being intrusive, service was brilliant and speedy but we never felt rushed. The food was fantastic, beautifully presented and delicious. I'll be going back come the new year. 😊

AMAZING dinner we had at Fanny Trollopes! All the seafood was so fresh and cooked to perfection - especially the scallops they did an absolutely fantastic job. One thing I really love was how starters came in such a generous portion. Added on edit: All staff were also so so nice and friendly. And that perfected our time there. Really appreciate their hospitality. It was my first time here but I will surely turn into a regular. Highly recommended!!!

It's been several years since I have been so it was lovely to find that the food and service is still as excellent as ever. Many thanks to all the staff for helping to make my brother's birthday feel special during these 'restricted' times.

It was great! Gluten free options are available Lamb main was delicious. King prawn starter was ok (due to it being modified for gluten free, normal dish was apparently great). Seating was uncomfortable as I was positioned adjacent to my neighbour which meant there was no leg room. Female waiter was REALLY lovely, male waiter seemed very busy, we felt bad for ordering drinks *and* food as it seemed as though he didn't have time to note down our food order. Overall pleased, the lamb dish saved the day! Atmosphere is lovely

This place has a small but amazing atmosphere, The food was out of this world with a wonderful presentation on a plate.the staff were a delight and made us very welcome this restaurant should have Michelin stars as it ticks all the boxes with it's small but delicious menu catering for those with dietary requirements. I had pan seared scallops and my wife had steak with a salsa verde topping, complimented by fine wine. This is a must go to establishment and I will definitely be back. Thanks to the team for making our experience awesome

First class food every time we have been. Fine dining in a small very well run restaurant not like some pretentious posh places, your made to feel welcome from the minute you walk in. Great choice of food at a decent price. Staff are great but Harry is a standout. If you're in Glasgow and want great food then go here.

robably my favorite dining experience during our visit to Glasgow. The menu was interesting but also simple. Great for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I think some of the reviews here are out of date. There is a full bar and we had a couple of yummy cocktails. The decor was open and contemporary, though it is a small place. The area is blossoming and very up and coming, though still a bit dingy in areas (but felt very safe). One server took care of the whole place, but he did a great job and (as usual for Glasgow) was very friendly and relaxed. I took a couple of photos which are not great, but give you an idea of the interior.

  • 5/5 Walter P. 5 years ago on Google
Cosy and friendly. Had great chat with fingers on either side. Even shared some food! Service prompt and courteous. Great ambience. But quality of food was the stand out. Starter of herb seasoned pork with black pudding croquette was delightful. Mains was duo of halibut and trout with Pak choi, chorizo and rosti with capers. An exciting fusion of flavours. Highly recommended.

Service really needs to be looked at it costs nothing to be friendly to clients Also it’s not a massive restaurant, the fact that we have to look around for the waitress not great Food was interesting and good , pity about service

  • 5/5 Mark C. 4 years ago on Google
Cozy wee restaurant- beautifully cooked food: I had pigeon breast then lamb shoulder; both excellent. Cullen skink looked and smelled delicious as did the sea bass. Small but Well chosen wine list and they have Williams bros beers in the fridge. Will be back.

Popped in here by myself before a concert, no reservation. They were quick and kind to accommodate me. Was planning on just having the short rib small plate and a glass of wine. Ordered a SECOND short rib, it was THAT good. Very evident they are very passionate about providing excellent food and service! Will definitely be back to try something else!
