I fully expected to leave five stars for this place as the previous reviews are glowing. I love Singaporean and Malaysian food and have been dying to have authentic beef rendang for ages without me slaving over a stove for the full day but unfortunately this place did not hit the spot. Firstly both drink orders came out wrong. I ordered mint and lime juice and it was just lime juice. They took it back and dropped a few mint leaves in the drink but if you don’t crush the leaves you won’t get any mint flavour so it had to be taken back again. The drink was mostly ice so maximum four sips. For £3 this just isn’t good enough. The teh tarik halia I ordered came without ginger. They insisted I ordered teh tarik so refused to change it AND charged me for it despite drinking less than a third of it! Onto the beef rendang. It was decent in that it was edible and had some good flavour and if I didn’t know what beef rendang was supposed to taste like perhaps I would have been happy with it but where was the galangal? Toasted coconut flakes? Melt in your mouth tender beef? All absent. I have had rendang all over Singapore and Malaysia and never had one with meat this tough? It is supposed to be so tender that you find shreds of it in the dry sauce. I was so disappointed. Onto the roti chanai and chicken curry. Curry was nice and flavourful and the roti was ok but not fresh. The prawn crackers were good and had a kick to them that my daughter really enjoyed. The staff were pleasant and friendly but in business the customer is always right. The staff got the order wrong twice and blamed me, the customer. All it all it wasn’t the worst but there are so many other places to explore for me to ever consider going back.

We really enjoyed this place. Food was fresh, delicious and very flavourful. Service was super friendly and attentive but not overbearing. They do a Sunday brunch menu with veggie, vegan and kids options which we will definitely give a go. For those interested they do BYOB. We’ll be back.

It was pleasant surprise to find real Malaysian food in this neighbourhood and I’m obsessed. Nasi Lemak was fresh, authentic and delicious, the meat was tender and flavour was spot on. The teh tarik was strong just like how it should be. Staffs were friendly and attentive. Would recommend to give it a try if you enjoy Southeast Asian cuisines, it can get quite popular on weekends so better book in advance.

I am Malaysian and have worked as a Malaysian chef in London and Malaysia. This place is amazing, big portions, well priced and most importantly delicious! Very authentic flavour, just like how you’d get in Malaysia. Will definitely visit again, thank you!

We tried to go a couple of weeks in a row and couldn’t get in on a weekend, so calling and booking in advance highly recommended. The food was actually pretty amazing and there were multiple vegetarian (with the option for vegan), fish and meat options. You can BYOB for a £2 charge too. Would definitely recommend as it was relatively cheap and staff seemed nice!

It is quite an authentic Malaysian place, however, there is room for improvement on the food quality and hygiene…when we came, the kitchen was not fully functioning so the food seems to be re-heated. Beef Rendang tastes fine but not particularly outstanding. Fish was served in original form so lots of bones. Also took off another star because stomach felt weird in the evening.

We have had a takeaway from here a few years ago and recall they had ran out of rice when the order arrived, so we were short one rice. First time eating in, and was greeted by a staff member who showed us our table then told us the time we had to vacate it by, already feeling rushed.. plenty of rice this time, bread tasted like it was warmed in the microwave, food was OK.

Affordable, yummy and cosy! I've almost tried every single dish on their menu and loved everything. My favourites are the nasi lemak beef rendang, mee mamak goreng and the onion fritters! It's cash only on Wed and Sun, but there are plenty of cash machines along the road. Highly recommend!

My friend was telling me about this lovely Malaysian deli for weeks before I finally managed to make it down. The staff were friendly and welcoming when we came in. Keep in mind that the place is not normally open during the day and opens from 6pm usually with earlier opening times on a Sunday morning (so check beforehand). We ordered the mamak mee goreng, nasi lemak with beef rendang and a chow kweoy teow. Loved it. It is rare to find places that do an authentic beef rendang curry (as most do a beef curry and try to pass it off as the same). The flavours were just like back in Malaysia and I'd happily go back again.

Best Malaysian restaurant I've come across. Strongly recommend the beef rendang. The chicken curry/roti starter was great too but the roti is usually slightly undercooked

Surprised I never been here, finally tried, realised why here seem always busy. Foods are so tasty, reasonable price, portions are big. Chicken skewers were my favourite, so good..

Great homie feel to dine at, feels like it's family run but be sure to make a reservation through Instagram as they are usually very busy and will not take walk-ins. The food is great and tastes authentic, the prices seem far and doesn't take long to be served

Found this restaurant serving authentic Malaysian food tucked away near Crofton Park Railways Station. The flavours of the main dishes were authentic, though the beef rendang was tough to chew and Char Kuey Teow was a little too oily. The kuihs were a lovely surprise though there was too much sirap bandung in the kuih lapis to our taste. Overall if you're craving for Malaysian food this is a good place to go, especially if you live in the area !

This place is a gem. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed despite the bustling atmosphere. The staff's attentiveness and kindness were truly appreciated. We started with the chicken satay and roti canai with chicken curry, each dish burst with freshness and flavour. The tender chicken and rich curry set the tone for a great meal. For the mains, the beef rendang was my personal favourite, and the Mackerel Sambal delivered a satisfying kick with perfectly cooked fish. My husband was really happy with the spice level, everything was expertly cooked to perfection.

It’s one of the treasures close to home! 🤩 It’s very nice place to enjoy the real Malaysian food! I came with my boyfriend a couple of times and we have always been satisfied. I recommend this restaurant.

Amazing food, quick and friendly service. The team here are very accommodating. The vegan options are quality and it is BYOB!! Booking ahead is recommended

Amazing food and atmosphere! Both dishes were hefty and delicious. We were proper stuffed by the end of it and extremely content.

Absolutely delicious food at extremely good prices. Main dish and dessert for 3 people came to less than £40. Lots of good vegan options. The staff are kind and accomodating - we turned up without a booking on a busy Friday night and they managed to squeeze us in without making us feel rushed. Will definitely be back - thank you!

Absolutely unbelievable beef rendang. I have been to Malaysia and had the same dish and this was perfect. You won't get better and more authentic Malaysian food than this.

I’m not an expert in Malaysian food, but we really enjoyed our meal. I especially liked the acar awak (pickled veg). The roti were fresh and delicious! And I love pandan so loved the custard dessert. Friendly staff and great prices.

Great small place (make sure you reserved a place ahead, especially on weekends). The place is traditionally decorated makes you feel you are not in busy London. I had the Nasi Lemak with Beef Rendang dish which was really good. Highly recommended

Thoroughly disappointing takeaway. Kari Melayu and Roti Canai were terribly oily and salty while lacking any depth or flavour. Rice was congealed, overcooked and lukewarm. Rendang's consistency was OK however it was also salty and tasted nothing like rendang (was more akin to a standard Bengal curry). Attached picture shows oil separated from the Kari Melayu.

Food portions were good and the taste was fine. Customer service can be improved though. We were seated outside, and were told we could move in but even after tables got empty inside they offered it to other customers. Also be careful the salted egg comes with the shell, it was quite a shock for us!
