Went there for a late valentines night. Enjoyed the 6 taster meal it was the best meal ever. We booked a room, and it was smashing. The breakfast in the sister restaurant was just as good. The staff members were brilliant, and their service was excellent.

Excellent meal - 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing and an additional tempura oyster was delicious. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and attentive even though they were under staffed. A relaxed atmosphere for an enjoyable evening. Loved it.

Probably one of the best meals I have ever had. The natural oysters were beautiful, such a punch of flavour. We had the three course menu but got one of everything so that we could try it all, and it didn't disappoint. The beef starter and the natural oysters were a star! The pork and hake mains were incredible, I wish we could eat it again and again.

We went to the Kota restaurant for dinner. The snacks were excellent! The desert was nice, too. Unfortunately, the two dinner mains were not impressive.

What an amazing night we had recently . Couldn’t fault the fantastic 6 course tasting menu and wine flight . Wonderful service and very knowledgeable staff. We will be back soon!

seasonal , creative and really delicious food. Very helpful with different dietary requirements, options to have a 4 or 6 course meal. Service delightful and efficient , highly recommend

Went in for a tasting menu (6 course) with one of us having the vegetarian option, and one the meat options. The dishes were well presented and interesting. The beetroot and nettlecurd dish felt a little out of place as it's so sweet compared to the rest, and I can't help feeling it would have made a better dessert than mid-menu dish. We shared one wine pairing, which was a little heavily leaned on whites for my taste and only one red served with a chicken dish which was an odd combination but nicely managed. Overall a really lovely experience, and the service was great especially as we were amongst the last tables left in the restaurant. I will note that the tasting menu is longer than expected, we found ourselves there for nigh on 3 hours.

Very good food but not without faults. This is a fine dining restaurant so my review is adjusted for that. Starter snacks used fine ingredients like lobster but their taste was lost due to spices or other ingredients overshadowing them. I could feel the texture but couldn't taste the lobster. The main dish - sea bass was wonderful. I could taste it was cooked on coal, the brown crab meat sauce that came with it was delicious. However the already small piece of fish came with ONE new potato. I almost laughed and wanted to check the menu again if it said new potatoeS or new potatO. I understand the concept of fine dining, but if I order 4 course menu (effectively snack, starter, main, desert) I expect to get a decent sized meal and ONE potato is taking it one step too far. It's not a prized ingredient - it's just a potato.. The menu lists sides, but if a dish comes with potatoes why would I need to order sides? The food is great and michellin star worthy, but there's just not enough of it. Desert was nice but the rhubarb ice cream was way too sour. I liked the use of merangue as texture.

We had the 6-course tasting menu with paired wines and it’s certainly one of the best food experiences I have had. The dishes were creative, tasty, filling, and amazingly presented, and the wines were out of this world, but the staff and restaurant are friendly and not at al pretentious. It’s not cheap at £120 all-in for the 6 courses and paired wines, but fully worth it for an incredible food experience.

Fantastic food. We had the four course tasting menu and everything on it was superb. Delightful staff who never missed a beat and an excellent location at the head of the harbour.

Our second visit. We had the 6 course tasting menu and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The seafood was really fantastic. Good atmosphere and made to feel very welcome. Accommodation best spot in Porthleven.

We both had the tasting menu, for which all the courses looked great but at times felt like style over substance. Whilst the desserts were brilliant, the lobster ravioli was disappointing and everything else was ok but nothing special. The front of house staff were perfectly pleasant, but service for some of the courses and the initial receiving menus/paying the bill was slow (we were there for almost 3 hours and not through eating slowly!)

A really special place. Lovely food, primarily of course fish / seafood based but there are alternatives which can be interchanged within the menus. Personally I'd go for the 4 course menu rather than the 6 course. Very good wine choices and should you not be driving then the wine flight would be very tempting. Looking forward to being able to visit in 2023

Outstanding food, value and service. Ate here on 21st October stunning mackerel starter with donut and tartare, expertly cooked lamb two ways and standout dessert of complementary flavours, honey, almond, goats cheese and walnut! A great tasting experience.

On arrival at the restaurant, we were greeted by the polite and warm welcoming staff. They didn't pressure us to order right away. Our waitress for the evening Orla, was very knowledgeable and explained any queries we had with the food. The food was absolutely amazing. I am highly recommending it ⭐⭐

Superb place. We had the taster menu and found each course exquisite. Foodies get yourself down here. Great service too, very attentive, special mention for Tim who was very helpful and even managed to convert us to enjoying the oysters. Wonderful experience all round.

Lovely Asian food. They had a separate Vegan menu, which you asked for like the gluten free or allergy menu, I was surprised it wasn't part of the main menu. I had the Aranchi , which was delicious. My husband had a large seafood soup, which he loved

Every mouthful was a taste sensation. You could see the work that had gone into fine tuning the depth of flavour and presentation. As always the staff were fantastic. We try and book every time we go to Cornwall to see relatives. Fabulous.

Absolutely delicious, refined, elegant food in a relaxed atmosphere with friendly and amiable waiting staff. Everything went like clockwork and the food was not only extremely tasty but superbly presented. The restaurant is very worthy of the awards they have.

Me and my partner first came to Kota 3 years ago and thought it was incredible then. 3 years later and it was even better! We had the 4 course taster menu and it was probably the best meal out we've ever had. Every course was perfect, and the service was impeccable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. It does seem pricey, but the value for money is fantastic. We will definitely be back again.
