Simple yet cozy atmosphere! I loved koshari, it was my first time eating it. My husband ordered the traditional koshari whereas I ordered with chicken and lamb. Btw meat is halal. Small seating area is available inside but WC isn't available.

I walked around Leicester sq and i saw this shop has an interesting vibe, yellow and shining😍 the foods are nice , i tried koshari and chicken wrap. And the staffs are friendly. I never try egyptian meals before but I will recommend this place especially for those who likes spicy chicken 🥰

Delicious koshary! I would personally add a little bit more tomato sauce, because that’s how I make it at home, but it was great anyway. This place is definitely worth visiting, especially if you miss or want to try the egyptian flavours.

My first time trying this famous street food. Brilliant. Tastes amazing and the spicy tomato sauce adds a real punch. Very simple dish, will try to recreate at home. Limited seating inside restaurant. Pleasant service

SO GOOD. Lots of food for a really good price. Tastes like a mixture of Mediterranean food and Indian food. I would recommend the chicken Koshari. Owners are very nice and helped us with our orders.

Incredible flavors, simple decor, cozy interior My only regret about this place is I wish they were bigger and had more space inside! The flavor & spice combinations are incredible and feel homey (having Egyptian & Lebanese family, this feels just like something they would've made for me) It's a cute, cozy place, and you really can't go wrong with any of their options. I'd very gladly come again to try more of their options and can't wait for next time!

I used to live in Egypt and ate koshary almost daily, but left in 2010 and haven't been able to find koshary anywhere since I came back to the UK. I happened across this place by chance in a weekend visit to London, and I was so excited! The classic koshary is just as I remembered, delicious. I'll be sure to visit here on future visits to London :)

Fast, no queue. Light and tasty food, very fulfilling, simple a bit overpriced, but I guess like everywhere. Overall good experience. The disadvantage that you can not get printed receipts and no discount for local people, or who works in the area. No loyalty system (it is something that you may work on, little tips for you) Staff could be more welcoming and friendly. But no complaints. Thank you

The first time I tried this was in Saudi and really wanted to replicate the experience and I must say although it wasn’t quite the same it was still good. The only thing I can say was the chick peas was slight hard (not sure if it’s meant to be or not). Never the less I enjoyed it and the service was good.

I was walking along the street and I turned to look inside it because it had a Chipotle type vibe. Said eat like an Egyptian so I wanted to give it a try. Tried the plant power koshari and the classic koshari, and the woman working was incredibly helpful with the sauces and vege options! I will definitely return the ingredients were so fresh!

Stopped by Koshari Street near Covent Garden and was blown away by their Classic Koshari bowl - a delightful mix of grains, chickpeas, and crispy onions with a zesty tomato sauce. Highly recommended Truly the best Egyptian street food in an amazing location!

I've had enough of oversized and overpriced burgers. What I want is something filling and healthy. A bowl of koshari fits the bill. Cheaper too. I'd definitely be back. More traditional variations would be nice. None of the wokey vegan options like quinoa for me.

The last time I had koshari was in Cairo 2012. When I finally visited this place, I ordered the large bowl and let me tell you this, it reminds me of what I used to have back in Cairo, so many memories. Brilliant taste, friendly staff, will definitely be back.

Absolutely delicious koshari— a must try if you haven’t had it before! I’ve had koshari in Cairo and homemade by my friend from Egypt. So glad to find Koshari Street so I can enjoy this in London!

Egyptian Koshari review. Rice, pasta, lentils and chickpeas topped with tomato sauce, caramelised onions and doqqa. The tomato sauce was bland and they were out of lamb and beef so I had to get chicken. Overall it was decent but I wouldn’t recommend it. It didn’t live up to the hype. OVERALL: 5/10 ATMOSPHERE: Sit down (or takeaway cafe) HALAL STATUS: Fully halal, no alcohol on site. SERVICE: Good UNIQUE: I’d say so. PRICE: ££/£££££ RECOMMENDED? No, I wasn’t a fan.

Having never had koshari before, i didn’t know what to expect, and it was absolutely lovely. Vegetarian by default I believe and easily vegan, and they have meat add ons for the carnivores like myself (chicken was very tasty indeed). The portion for a “medium” was also massive and i could not finish it. Love it!

Very pocket-friendly, with unique flavors and filling food. I had never had koshari before, but I'll definitely have some again. Very quick service, although there's barely any seating space. This is better for takeaways than dine-in. If you're looking for a quick, healthy vegan meal that is budget friendly, go here.

Absolutely delicious authentic bringing this Egyptian staple dish to the capital! The koshari is very tasty, their regular sauce is perfect for my 2 year old who loved Koshari on her trip to Egypt, the spicy alternative is absolutely spot on for my taste buds!

They have recently refurbished and changed their menu to include some non-vegetarian options. The classic koshari is still amazing and highly recommended. I tried originally in Egypt and can attest that they do get it right at this place.

Good spot. My vegetarian bowl was delicious, husband's lamb pita was a little bland. They were kind enough to let us sit for a long time in their restaurant on a call with our family. Healthy, worth stopping by!

How food should be. The food makes you close your eyes and imagine being at home in front of a fire (but with more flavour). It doesn’t just taste good but will leave you feeling good as well. Everyone working here is lovely and will talk through your options as long as you need. All this and for a good value price. Plus the vegetarian and vegan options are incredible!

  • 2/5 Miriam A. 4 years ago on Google
Unfortunately I am an Egyptian and I know how Koshari should taste and be made. I would say this is a light version of Koshari, probably suitable for the taste of locals but it's not the real Egyptian Koshari. We were unfortunate enough that they also had run out of onions when we were ordering. Onions are a key ingredient for a proper Koshari. Not a bad attempt, but not for me as a native Egyptian.

  • 5/5 Tana K. 4 years ago on Google
Very tasty. They best I've had was in a remote part of Egypt because they added a red oil. But this is very good for London

  • 2/5 Vasilis Z. 4 years ago on Google
Food was really mediocre and too pricey for what it offers. The two ladies that were behind the bar were really rude and looked like they're bored out of their lives and rushed us to order by asking if we were ready while we were clearly standing on the side, looking at the menu, discussing and trying to figure out how the shop worked. After asking questions about which meals had what ingredients the ladies didn't even take the initiative to let us know we could build our own meals or answer or questions knowledgeably. They offered to put beans on one of our meals and didnt even let us know there was extra charge and we ended up paying 10 pounds for a meal we weren't happy with.

A great place for lunch! Healthy, quick, tasty food. I recommend the classic. The staff is very friendly! My only complaint is that the place is very small and thus has limited seating. It seems more takeout oriented because of this (having maybe 10-15 seats).

  • 1/5 Philo S. 4 years ago on Google
It's going to seem like a relatively petty complaint but I'd recommend you tell your staff (one of the guys handing out testers) not to call passerbys a ''gahba''. This is London - many of us grew up amongst Arabs...

The food itself was really delicious! but the staff were awkward and just seemed quite confused, probably because they had run out some of the food we ordered which was frustrating.

    Yes, you can find food of all kind in stores but there’s food that stand out as my favourite one. Picture this, your walking past cafes, pastries and pizza places but let’s be real how often do you see the words” Egyptian street food”? I take a glimpse in and see the quotation “Life is just a bowl of koshari”. I want to know what about this bowl brings life so I leap in. I breath in the warm aroma unique to fresh koshari soaked in rich runny tomato sauce, a shower of smooth , fluffy yellow chickpeas, crispy fried onions dark with a hit of yellow and to finish up a dust of chalky, crumbly, dehydrated nuts and herbs. Devine. Affordable.Top quality. I devour it in one sitting. And to my satisfactory it was life, every mouthful. Haha, It’s why you catch me in here all day everyday, jokes aside;

A friend recommended this place for me to try Egyptian food. I asked for a large classic koshari for takeaway. The pot was half full, half empty. I'm not sure if they can make the pot smaller or fill it up a little bit.
