I think this particular store should be renamed Ellis Grumpham Staff, especially the older guy were lacking in warmth and hospitality I visited three times in between xmas and new year and spent £800! You would think spending that amount would have raised a smile? Not a chance! Seems a shame as it’s the best outdoor store in Fort William

Great store - been here many times and they always have a great selection of gear. The knowledge that the team have is incredibly valuable, you know you’re in good hands.

Amazing service. I had just stopped in for a quick browse and perhaps pick up some clif nutrition bars. Ellie at the counter suggested some additional options and together with her manager Simon helped me identify some great local guides for hiking up Ben Nevis as we were booking last minute. This type of customer service is truly above and beyond. Made me want to come back and shop around a bit more.

Very nice staff, really helpful! Brilliant selection of outdoor gear! LOVED looking through all the Patagonia items, was brilliant to beable to try stuff on for a change! Also, got an UNREAL bargain... Rab Micro light alpine duck down jacket from £220 - £100... All because the stuffing bag was missing!! Some amazing deals to be had!

Despite visiting Fort William many times this was the first time we have popped in to Ellis Brigham and as soon as we walked in to the store we were impressed, very clean, well stocked and it didn’t feel crowded with the rails being laid it and a way that made it easy to browse. The gentleman that served us was friendly and efficient and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

Bill made our visit to the shop a fantastic experience, great advice and attention to detail in helping us obtain our first sets of crampons. Thanks for your help Bill!

Great selection and helpful staff, you're paying full RRP, so either plan and ahead and buy before (elsewhere) or be happy this will be full price. Although this is because of the quality of clothing and gear.

Went to visit this store after being into nevis sport in Fortwilliam Compared to Nevis it was a big disappointment. Spoke to a more senior aged man whom I found had a very "take it or leave it " attitude and rather unfriendly. He certainly doesn't do this store any favours.

Terrible womens shoes stock for running (apparently a lot more focus on mens equipment for the mountains than women) not really anything to try on for womens equipment and when I asked, the staff were really rude. Honestly, such a strange atmosphere in this shop and one of the least comfortable shopping experiences of my life!

Quality outdoor/sport shop with a lot of specialised equipment. I've used this store for years for various different things. I live over the fence from it. It's a wee bit hidden away from the rest of the shops in the town but definitely worth the walk or drive 🚗 😀

Good place to rent equipment required for Ben Nevis. Boots cost £10 and crampons cost £7 for the day. Also had a good sale section to pick up some clothes with 50% off north face.

Bit underwhelming. Staff seemed disinterested when I went, arms folded, on mobiles, etc. Barely acknowledged me in the shop. Maybe they were having a bad day but overall the service was non-existent. They need to learn from their colleagues in the Aviemore store.

Got ski boots and the two guys were great, friendly and patient getting them fitted just right. Would go back again.

Pretty unhelpful and miserable. We checked a couple of days beforehand to see if they had equipment to hire. When we turned up we were met with a blank stare with nothing available

Great outdoor shop with lots and brands and variety. Free small bit of parking around the back.

Very well equipped store and always stocked with new ranges. However, prices are much higher than other stores and online.

Visited the store for fabric/tent repair tape. Walked around the store looking pretty lost. Two members of staff walked passed ignoring me completely. Eventually asked a male staff member if the store had tent repair tape. He said no. When he walked off on the shelf right behind where he was standing was exactly what I wanted. I waited for a long time at the till before being served, no apology for the wait was given. I pointed out that the store did stock the item I was looking for to be told it would work for what I wanted it for ( strange as I hadn't mentioned what I wanted it for) but he insisted it wouldn't work. Having bought 2 of the item I then discovered I had been overcharged. I returned and a refund was given with the excuse that they hadn't been sent new price labels when the price went up. As a retail manager was not impressed.

Great range of products but, as most people know, crazily over-priced. I saw a pair of walking boots for £220, which I subsequently bought online for £164.

Good selection of quality but expensive hiking shoes and gear. Wonderful help in picking out my shoes. Wish they had one in Edinburgh!

Great place to hire equipment for heading up Ben Nevis Sadly the staff aren’t that friendly, Maybe the management don’t look after them? Who knows 🤷‍♂️

Place was ok but I did think it was a little quiet and everything I said the whole shop could hear plus the prices are a little on the steep side we shouldn't need to spend over £1000 just to keep the rain out

Messed around on prices. Staff have no idea what they are doing. Cotswold down the road is fantastic and stocks the same range.

Nice clothes and very pricey. It's has everything you need for all types of leisure activities, from beginner to maybe professional, I don't because I am just a beginner.
