Hands down the best dining experience of my 40 year life and has ruined any future dining experiences! The atmosphere is epic! The little touches of the decor and the informal yet professional and friendly service is the best I have ever had! Where else will the chef owner open the door for you, bring your food and take the time for small talk! INCREDIBLE!

Great food, love the fact that you don't know what's coming until it's in front of you. Everything tasted amazing, only wish I could cook like that. The staff were super friendly and we were even welcomed and served for multiple courses by the chef himself, which gave the restaurant a really intimate cozy feeling. The decor was stylish and the place had a comfortable feeling about it. No pretentiousness to be seen in this restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Some of the very best food in Bath (and beyond), every course on the surprise menu was exceptional. The menu and the service were sophisticated, all delivered with a relaxed and unpretentious confidence that made it very easy to feel at ease. One surprise of the surprise menu on our visit was that it had a lot of fish but contained no meat dishes or red wines. For a blind menu this did seem to leave something missing, but it also provoked us to question our assumptions and to think about the menu more deeply. Every dish was superb, a balance of main events and delicious bites, and a menu matched appropriately to one of the hottest days of the summer. Was it a reaction to the weather or just a bold choice? I'll certainly be coming back in the winter to find out!

One of Bath’s best restaurants. Very surprised to see it not have a Michelin star as it’s certainly at that standard with the food and service. Some of the dishes were very inventive and not your usual “modern French cuisine”, which made it refreshing. It was also a nice touch to have the chef come out to deliver some of the dishes and talk about them. Certainly made the whole experience more personal.

This restaurant is a real experience! We came here for our 2 year wedding anniversary lunch and we had a great afternoon. Each course was a surprise and perfectly presented and delicous. The waitress explained all of the courses to us and the gin and tonics were great on a hot afternoon. If you visit Bath this is a must see!

JUST GO - substantial, high quality, imaginative and delicious food. All courses were explained by the chefs, we did the wine pairing too, which included a number of wines we didn't know. Probably the best 1 star we have been to anywhere , not just in uk. My only suggestion would be to slow the time between the 7 courses a touch. We will definitely be back. Service faultless.

The chef very humbly welcomed us in. The atmosphere was very welcoming and cozy, and the decor happy and rebellious. Excellent music, open kitchen, the bathroom sarcastic and hilarious. Food: divine. The finest layering, fresh and not pretentious whatsoever. With one sentence: fine anti-conformist dining. We are DEFINITELY going back.

Amazing food and staff were super attentive! 100% would come back! Only thing I'd say is please remove the trippy mirror from the bathroom above the sink and just have a normal one there.

This was a gift for my wife and I. It was a great experience from being greeted by the chef at the door to being served by a kitchen chef with details of what you are about to eat. A small intimate venue the drinks are very reasonable which was a surprise but the meal was as much as we've ever spent on food. It was as good as food should be. And to be honest was 90% of what I would expect anywhere, short of McDonald's, but definitely in any self respecting restaurant. However you never get it and you have to pay this amount to have a decent evening. The staff are all friendly and can give you all the attention you need without ever being too attentive. I'd say it's about as perfect as you could want. It's a lot of money and I find it difficult to suggest it's good value unless your hobby is dining out. It was an amazing gift and exceptional because of that fact. As a monthly treat, I wish I could afford it.

I had a surprise treat for my Birthday. I wanted to go here for a very long time. It was amazing. From the minute we arrived it was a treat. We did the 9 course taster menu with wine flight. ( lunch time) The venue is quirky, the chefs knowledgeable and Amelia friendly and really helped us understand the wines. Highly recommend. This is a must xx

Incredible experience throughout! Amelia is a really lovely host from answering my email to welcoming me at the restaurant itself. Chef Gordon is just such a character with all his funny stories and comments. Most importantly the food were excellent! My favourite dishes were the Rabbit & Beans and...the Bag of Bread (sourdough with bloody Mary butter & artichoke syrup and fish roe butter (?)) I took the non-alcoholic flight which was absolutely delicious and went well with the dishes. I left the restaurant a very happy customer. I will definitely return if I ever visit Bath again!

Not only is the food UNREAL... this restaurant has the friendliest waiter and waitress I have ever experienced. Gordon and Amelia are sooo friendly, welcoming and fun! Best restaurant I've been to in a while, and I eat out a lot :)

Absolutely stunning. Most probably the best meal I've ever had. The staff were all extremely knowledgeable and equally friendly. The food was simply exquisite, every dish meticulously crafted with outstanding wine pairings. I can't wait to go back! This is some of the best food around with a master at the wheel serving up excellent dishes without pomp and pretentiousness of 'fine dining'. Stunning food, severed by wonderful people in a comforting environment.

One word: **Amazing** Definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever had ! Every single dish was unique and flavoursome. The oat cappuccino was definitely top notch. The vibe is fantastic, music is great, stuff is super lovely and place is small and cosy. I’m definitely coming back.

This place is fantastic. The food and the service was absolutely superb, absolutely flawless…I cannot remember the ladies name who looked after us but she was brilliant, full of banter and just seemed to get us. We even had a quick chat with the chef so a very nice touch. Would go here again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for helping making my wife’s 30th go so well!
