Very clean private collection, my wife fed the tigers, only saw a few other animals on the way in. The tigers were the cleanest best looking ones I've ever seen in captivity and they were born there. Very professional system they have in place.

Really enjoyed our visit to see the Zebras, amazing experience feeding, stroking and grooming them. Stunning animals and you can tell they are very well looked after and cared for by the staff. Would highly recommend a visit and we will be back next time we are in the area.

Booked the Pygmy Hippo experience for me and my partner to do for his birthday. Hannah was brilliant throughout the booking process. The handler Aaron was super friendly and knowledgable and went out of his way to get some amazing pictures for us. Cori the hippo was super cute and warmed to us as we were feeding her which meant we were able to stroke her and give her bum and scratch. Would recommend this experience to anyone! Can’t wait to book our next one!

Absolutely incredible, went for the first time today to 5 encounters, the sloth, tiger, penguins,monkeys and hippos. All of them were superb, interesting for both adults and kids and worth every penny. Our guide - Barbara- was also outstanding and told us very interesting facts about the animals throughout. Strongly recommend to everyone.

I love hippos, they are my favourite. Getting to feed and stroke one was just amazing. Great knowledgeable friendly staff. I have already recommended all my friends to go. I will be back.

Such an amazing experience today meeting Talita the sloth. Such a beautiful girl. Aaron who looked after us was great and very knowledgeable. I also met Asbo the squirrel monkey and two beautiful Bengal tigers. Unforgettable memories were made.

We visited today for my partners 30th Birthday and was absolutely amazed how great it was. We was looked after by Barbara who gave us plenty of time and didn’t feel rushed and also was incredibly knowledgeable. We got to see the two toed sloth Talita. She was adorable and everything we wished for!

Went to the sloth encounter today, taking a teenage boy who has always been mad about them. It was fantastic, he had the most amazing experience, and fulfilled a life long dream of meeting one close up, stroking one and even getting to feed her. The staff were brilliant, answered all our questions and gave us lots of information about them. Can't recommend this highly enough, it has made a young lads dreams come true!!

It's well worth looking at the group experience rather than the encounters if you can get a group of you together. We went with 3 adults 3 children and one under 2(who wasn't included in the pricing and still had a fab time). We all had an absolute blast. Aaron was amazing. He answered all of our questions, told us all about all of their animals (some of them are famous!) And we were able to get hands on. Not done anything like this before and it was the highlight of our holiday.

This was our second visit to HZG, and can honestly say that from starting the process to book the visit (this is essential as it is not open to the public like a normal zoo), everything is so easy. Hannah who does the arranging of the bookings is genuinely one of the lovliest people I have ever met; she is warm, friendly and professional with a terrific sense of humour and nothing is to much trouble, both visits have been as a surprise for my husband and Hannah passed this on to the staff supervising the experience. Barbara who was the handler on our first visit and Niall on the second are both a mind of information about Talita the sloth, and have such a love and passion for all the animals they care for. The experience you book is for YOU and anyone you choose to take with you so (unlike a lot of zoos) you are not in a group of twenty strangers or anything like that, you and your guest/s are the focus of attention throughout. To get close to a sloth is one thing but to be able to hand feed one is amazing, and to say my husband was like a kid in a sweet shop is an understatement. No, the experience is not cheap, but what is these days? But the experience is about the animal and you, the money goes back into the welfare of the animals and as far as I am concerned it is worth every penny and I am looking at dates now for turn for an experience and cannot wait to visit the zoo, the animals and the staff again. Thank you all for an amazing time.

Absolutely amazing experience. I have no doubt the animals are extremely well cared for. Highest level of care I’ve seen in captivity, best place for the animals to be when they’re unable to be reintroduced into the wild. Our guide was amazing, we had a sloth encounter, she was very enthusiastic, and genuinely ADORED the animals. I’d absolutely visit again, next time I want to encounter all of the animals! Would 100% recommend to animal lovers.

What a start to our honeymoon ! We were lucky enough to come and meet the squirrel monkeys and pygmy hippos last week as part of our honeymoon trips and what more can I say but WOW! I believe our guide was Andrew and he was amazing ! The knowledge he had about each of the animals was fabulous and his passion for their care was un-matched. Thank you for giving us the most memorable animal experience of our lives, and we have done a lot of animal experiences/encounters ! Having the squirrel monkeys sitting on our shoulders was more contact than i had ever imagined, my favourite monkeys by far, their faces and characters were adorable. Getting lucky enough to meet the pygmy hippos was a moment we will never forget, never did i ever think i would get the chance to feed let alone touch a hippo in my life - surpassed all expectations and we WILL be back for many more experiences with your wonderful animals !

Sinead was our guide for this amazing Raven Encounter. Worth every single penny and then some! We got at least 30 minutes with Vera who is a very good bird. The animals are well cared for and their cages are clean. We very very much enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it!

I booked this for my daughters birthday present. Barbara was full of information and knowledge. I absolutely loved this experience and everything they stand for. Private and animals were loved and well looked after. The sloth we met....we fell in love but not as much as Barbara loves her!! Thank you. 😊

I'll start by making clear you must book in advance to visit, our trip was a privately organised one with 100 attendees. The visit was amazing, we had demonstrations and talks on how they train the animals. The animals seemed happy and well cared for and were never forced to perform. We had amazing opportunities to get up close to animals which wouldn't normally be possible, a few of us even got to stroke one of their lovely zebras. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and we heard great things about their work experience programs which it sounds like is accessible to people from all academic backgrounds. Would highly recommend visiting if you get the chance!

I booked a tiger feeding today (the day I'm writing this) and I've got it was worth every penny because it was truly a great experience it great feeding Raja and Madras I can tell they really look after animals well and these animals were used for TV and film 🎥 cool. I definitely will be visiting again and thank you for the tiger feeding certificate.

Had tried to do this experience for some years but things always seem to happen. This year though we finally got there on our daughters birthday. She walked beowulf which was amazing. She absolutely loves wolves. Then she fed the tigers. We had never been that close to either. Its amazing how big they are but so beautiful. Barbara and Aaron were really lovely. Lots of interesting information and stories. Couldn't have been more pleased. Plus Hannah who took the booking. Thank you for sorting everything fo us. All patient and clearly care deeply for these gorgeous animals.

We had an incredible experience meeting Talita the two toed sloth. Staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Well worth the money and we can't wait to go back to see some of the other animals.

My partner and I did the sloth encounter and penguin encounter. It was a really special and enjoyable experience. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and the animals are excellently cared for with plenty of space.

Meeting Talita the sloth was absolutely magnificent. She was very adorable and looked so happy and well cared for. We took our daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday so what better way to make a memory.. Staff was full of facts and informative words. Would recommend this experience to all sloth lovers. I booked 3 animal encounters for my partners 50th birthday and it was a day that we will never forget. The staff are so lovely and helpful and it is obvious to see that they love the animals under their care. The location is secluded and private which means there are no other visitors watching you whilst you enjoy your time with the animals, and the whole booking process was easy and very accommodating when I needed to change the date. This has been the highlight of our year so far.
