On a recommendation from a lovely lady running the shop at Welsh Mountain Zoo, we changed our usual eatery to hickory's. This place is 5*. Great place, excellent atmosphere, first class service from all staff. That is all before you get to see the menu! the range and quality of food and drink options is exceptional. Definitely the best steakhouse we have visited, bar none. Layout of the venue is well thought out. Both the interior and the exterior are well maintained, well presented, with little details making the venue that bit more special than other venues. They also cater for kids/toddlers/baby's with high chairs available on request, out door play area for the older kids, and dog friendly. Can't say enough, We will definitely be revisiting here again... Hopefully soon!

A beautifully decorated restaurant with tasty food. The standouts were the banoffee and biscoff milkshake and the banoffee and ice cream skillet, they were delicious. The savory food was good, the burgers that the 2 members of our party got were rated 7/10. The pulled pork I got was okay. For context, I’ve lived in the us since 2017 and have had some great BBQ and pulled pork there so comparatively I think the pulled pork here could be better. In particular, I think removing the beans and lathering the pork in a sweet BBQ sauce would improve this pork immensely. Having some of this sauce on the side for the chips would be a nice bonus. Additionally, the coleslaw that came with this pork was bland

We had a family meal last night, party of 6 (4 adults+ 2 children) what a great experience! Large booth, good food, great service with friendly staff. A little cinema can provide entertainment when mum and dad want a quiet drink (or two 😉) We saw an outdoor slide as we were leaving. Great outdoor eating spaces! Well worth a visit. We will most certainly be back 🙂

Food was amazing as always.Steak is always spot on. My daughter loves the Mac and cheese. Clean toilets are easily accessible, with anything you may need to hand (deodorant,wipes, tampax, pads) Staff are always friendly and helpful. And again food is Amazing!

It's located on beautiful grounds and ample parking spaces. We were there for dinner on a Monday, and it's busy. Reservation is highly recommended, especially on weekends! The staff are welcoming, friendly, and efficient, and they set up the table for our dad's birthday 🎂 dinner 🍽 Thanks to the friendly staff Lucas, we had a wonderful evening with great food and a very nice atmosphere🥘🍖 They have a cute little cinema room for the kids showcasing cartoons or movies 🎬 The seatings outside are great during summer with the lovely garden courtyard, but make sure you book early! It's one of the best Hickory outlets we have been to....keep up the great work guys 🤠

Nice menu. Very good with dogs! Wooden huts with very warm heaters outside for those of us with dogs. The huts would keep you dry (in our opinion) in all but horizontal rain so a great place to go. Staff were really friendly. Toilets were clean and they even had free products in the ladies toilet for those of us ‘caught short’.

We absolutely love Hickory's. They have an excellent choice of vegetarian dishes. There's something for everyone. We were seated out of the way. We had our own little corner, which was perfect for us. The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you. The food was a 10/10. We can't wait to visit again. Many thanks.

Lovely meal for two. Busy atmosphere but only waited 5 minutes to be seated. Decent portion sizes. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Would definitely visit again.

First time ever and absolutely loved it, wish we had similar in Shropshire, had the mixed platter for two and we left a bit but could take home a doggy bag....but forgot it lol. Also had the toasting marshmallows which were devine.... atmosphere was great and the staff attentive but unobtrusive well done

Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere as always. Hickories is a pretty safe bet in terms of a meal out, you know it will be consistently good and that there will be something everyone can eat.

The food here is great, especially the burgers. I thought two patties might be too much but the portion size was just right. The burgers are cooked very well and are juicy. A good menu for kids as well as a bag of popcorn on arrival. The cinema is a nice touch and good for kids to go watch. The staff are very friendly and attentive

I really loved dining here. I enjoyed the American vibes and menu. The food was very good. I really recommend the Pecan Texas Pie. It was delicious. My favourite thing about the restaurant is that they have not one but three hot sauce options! I really enjoyed all three hot sauces offered to me. Not many restaurants have hot sauces as an option, let alone three. The service was very nice. However, they do add a tip to the final bill. It was not a large amount but I was not expecting that. Overall, I had a nice time and I would visit again.

Been going for many years, staff are always brilliant and the food has always been great! It's pricey but the food and staff and brilliant atmosphere are well worth it. Me and my family love coming here and will continue to do so for the coming years. Also my cocktails were made by Jordan Bates and they were fantastic.

Breakfast minus egg and Chicken and Bacon Waffle with chicken gravy. Great venue, great food. Large carpark at rear and lovely outdoor area.

What à lovely place this is. Went for dinner while staying in Wales and definitely was impressed. The service was second to none, nothing was too much trouble, great atmosphere and truly wonderful food. The half pound of brisket is definitely a must have, the meat is beautifully cooked. The chicken in a Basket is really good, true southern taste. The Grape Soda is amazing.

We had high expectations for this place since we are from and have lived in some of the places they base their good around (mid-west/southern America). Unfortunately, they really missed the mark. My tacos came out cold and were just okay. However my husband ordered the pulled pork with bbq beans meal (can't remember the exact name) and we couldn't even taste or see any bbq. In America they go hard with the BBQ so it's unfortunate that they say they have traveled and trained in America but didn't really give an authentic representation of that. They also give out a little portion of popcorn at the beginning of the meal.. I'm not sure if that was an original idea or how they think that's a norm for Americans. Usually in America at most places you would get a bread basket, chips and salsa, or something along those lines.. the popcorn was good though just not really an American thing.. The service was friendly and quick though.

This was my first time eating here and, honestly, I can't big it up enough. The staff were spot on, making sure we got our drinks and food order in quick. I had the chicken for starters and it was out of this world. It had that KFC vibe but, for me, it was even better - the chicken was juicy and had a great texture. Plus, they've got a cracking range of beers and IPAs, which you don't always get in a restaurant. But then came the main. I got the ribs, and I have to say, it was a let-down. Normally, you'd expect a good bit of meat on half a rack of ribs, but both my dad and I got barely any. We saw one of the guys cutting up the beef brisket, and we asked for a taste. And wow - it was like a slice of heaven! I kind of wish I'd spent the extra £5 on that. It was way tastier and looked like a lot more food. When we were paying, the manager asked us how our meal was. I mentioned the ribs weren't great, and he took them off our bill, just like that. I was pretty chuffed with that, so big thanks to the manager. In short, I'd definitely eat here again. The food's generally top-notch, but I'd give the ribs a miss next time.

Family, kids and Dog Friendly. Mini soft play area, with a slide for kids and a rope walk. Prior reservation is best recommended as the place is quite busy due to its fame. We reached here reading all the good reviews on Tripadvisor & Google, but sadly we had to wait for 50 mins, which didn't kind much as we walked near the seaside. On our return, the visit was worth the wait and every moment spent here with 2 kids in our family was amazing. One of the most friendly staff you will find, and the food, scrumptious and bursting with flavours. Oh yeah, we could not get to the tasty dessert but the cocktails were really cool. Most recommended for anyone. Ambience was also very lively, indoor or outdoors. Best dining experience after a lovely day spent at the Beach.

Good family place to eat out, the food is tasty and you get huge portions. We had the slow cooked brisket which was delicious and there's a decent kids menu too. The staff were very friendly and there's a play area for kids. I'd advise booking as it was very busy when we went.

Delicious food and great atmosphere. We weren’t sure if we would enjoy it here but we are so glad we decided to go. We hadn’t booked but the restaurant got us seated on the walk in tables after a few minutes wait. I loved the po boy sub, Mac n cheese and the cocktails! Also the grape soda was a sweet treat. Staff very attentive and friendly too.

Great service and atmosphere. Accommodated a large group on short notice. The staff were polite and helpful and were really great at checking our orders and providing for gluten free and a dairy free dietary needs. Highly recommend. Plus the food was great, well presented, tasty and filling 😋
