Really nice place this. A full two hours of everything you need to know about Falconry, birds of prey including owls. The host was absolutely lovely. Very knowledgeable and easy to get on with. Made us feel very welcome and really gave us a fantastic hands on session with the birds. I would highly recommend booking a session here. If you love birds of prey and owls then you need to come here. You'll get to meet a lot of birds of prey and loads of owls including a 32 year old Eagle owl called Denis, he's absolutely gorgeous and let's you stroke and cuddle him What are you waiting for?

What an exciting and thrilling afternoon! Nanette was great and so knowledgeable, we learnt so much. It was great to get close and learn about hawks and owls. We even got to feed a black vulture (Spud). Thank you, a very memorable experience.

Just been for our sons 9th Birthday for a Hawk Walk. The whole family loved it. It was interesting and an amazing experience. He said it was the best birthday he's ever had. He experienced hawks, owls and vultures. Such a great experience and would highly recommend.

I booked a meerkat and birds of pray experience for my partners 40th birthday and I must say Nanette and her husband went above and beyond and made the day so special I honestly cannot thank them both enough! Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a personalised happy birthday message on the black board, this little touch really made the day feel special and was a great start to a fantastic day. Nanette is very knowledge, so learning about these magnificent animals was excellent. We felt very safe and relaxed and had a wonderful hands on time with both the meerkats and the birds of pray. I highly recommend Vale Royal Falconry Centre to everyone, whether it is for a lesson or just a nice day out, you will not be disappointed!! We visited Vale Royal as a treat for my father in law's 80th. As a party of 9 and spanning 3 generations we all felt welcomed and able to enjoy the experience equally and Nanette made every effort to make the experience special for my father in law. The setting and birds were spectacular and we all learnt a lot from both Nanette and Phil. Can't thank them enough for such a wonderful afternoon that has given us all memories to cherish.

First of all, a big thanks to Nanette for such a brilliant day! My partner booked the birds of prey experience for both of us as a Valentines Day gift and it was full of knowledge and fun! It was easy to see how much passion Nanette has for wildlife which we admired and we even put to bed any bad opinions on vultures as Nanette wanted to showcase how these birds are actually quite funny and interesting regarding how they have their place in disease prevention in third world countries. There are so many birds here and all are beautiful and have their own character. Thanks again for such a great knowledgeable day and we’ll definitely be back soon for the Meerkat experience! Wow what an amazing afternoon we have had. We have 3 children, 9 and 7years old and they all loved it and very age appropriate. Felt very safe with everything surrounding COVID. We all enjoyed the meerkats and then to experience the owls, vulture, the hawk and the golden eagle was amazing. We all held the birds and to experience the vulture and the hawk fly on your hand was an experience not to miss. Not forgetting a cuddle off Dennis the owl! The lady was was very friendly and informative and couldn’t do enough for you. It was a private experience so nice and intimate. Will definitely be booking again in the future !

I had a beautiful time at Vale Royal Falconry. The booking was dealt with quickly and easily. The staff were professional, good humoured and had a deep respect for the birds in their care. They were knowledgeable and entertaining too! The incredible range of birds was a surprise and far exceeded my expectations. The birds are treated with compassion and were majestic to witness. It was such a life affirming experience. I would recommend it to others without hesitation. Enjoy!

Amazing Experience. Me and my partner had our experience with another couple, I found having a group of us made for a good dynamic which i really enjoyed. During our time in the meerkat enclosure they would feed out of our hands and sit on our shoulders, it really was a hands on experience. I was also pleasantly surprised when we also had chance to hold owls on our hands and have vultures feed out of our hands. The lady in charge had such insight and knowledge which made the experience so interesting. Having the talk about the vultures and having them feed out of my hand, this gave me an interest in vultures who have now become a favourite animal of mine. Such a good and personal expereince!

Fantastic centre that marries hands on experience with high level education / conservation. A wide range of healthy birds on site that you can interact with and learn about. Staff are fantastically knowledgeable and really make it a memorable experience. Would definitely recommend!

I've been to other falconry centres in the past but never before have I learned so much or had such knowledgeable and engaging hosts as we had today at Vale Royal. Nanette and Phil are so passionate about their birds and full of interesting tidbits about the history of falconry and even how it has shaped our language - who knew?! A truly superb afternoon with the chance to get up close to some magnificent raptors. We'll definitely be back!

Bought two experiences for my hubby's birthday, Hawk Walk & Meerkat experience. All I can say is ....wow! I would rate this 10 out of 10 even higher. Nanette is absolutely amazing a pleasure to meet. Me and hubby had such a fabulous time. Very informative, get to interact with some of birds of prey. We even got to see how the Harris Hawk hunts, got to hold a vulture!...simply wow! The meerkats love to cuddle and snuggle. Had an amazing day today, definitely go back and would highly recommend Vale Falconry centre. Friendly, great atmosphere and we had a lovely sunny day. A Great Experience ! Just been this morning for the Meerkat experience, plenty of time in the enclosure with the Meerkats and feeding them, really hands on as they climb over you and explore. My daughters loved it! Also had time afterwards with some birds of prey, owls and feeding a vulture, again this was hands on and got to handle the birds. The lady was very friendly and knowledgeable with all relevent equipment to hand. Also very safe regards any COVID issues anyone may have, sanitiser and PPE used as required and all in the open air anyway so totally safe if that bothers you. Lots of great photos of the morning and good memories for us all. Well recommended if you want private, close up time with Meerkats. The birds of prey experience would no doubt be good too looking at the set up and the amount and variety they have.

We booked the meerkat experience for our 8 year old and he loved it. We then had time with the birds of prey - owls, eagles, falcons and best of all the vultures who take food from your (gloved!) hand. The knowledge and love the owners have for their animals is clear to see. Highly recommended.

Wow what a great day! The host (sorry didn’t catch her name) was so welcoming and knowledgeable. We got to see a whole variety of owls, and even as spectators got to touch and get close to the birds. We got to look around the sanctuary at all the birds of prey and the host gave us lots of information on each. We even had the addition of the vulture coming out to say hello! I would highly recommend to anyone who's thinking of purchasing this experience!!

Brill hour and a half feeding large birds of prey and having meekats on our shoulders and laps , great lady gave talk and showed us how to interact with both meerkats and huge birds of prey don't miss it , value for money , spectators don't miss out either.

We had a wonderful time here at Vale Royal Falconry Centre with the birds of prey and owl experience. We learned so much about these beautiful birds. It was fantastic being able to have the privilege of them flying to the glove. We will certainly be returning I would recommend this to everyone.

Great experience feeding the meerkats and the birds of prey were an added bonus. Nanette really knows her stuff and was so good with our kids, would definitely go back!

While I was only spectating, I was able to enjoy the birds as up close as the person flying them. There was opportunity to stroke one of the Great European Owls as well! The service was extremely friendly throughout. I would absolutely recommend to anyone of any able age - such an amazing experience!

Amazing afternoon with Archery and a personal experience to meet and fly Owls. This is a family run centre where the birds are part of the family and are cared for from being chicks right through to retirement and beyond. They support conservation in the area to enable the wild birds of prey to flourish. They are friendly and welcoming, and well worth a visit and support. Thank you for making our visit so memorable.

We went here today for my Grandma's 67th and it was a blast! Our host was lovely and went into thorough detail on all questions we had. Would be happy to come again in the future.

We spent a very special morning at the Vale Royal Falconry. It was a special treat for my birthday and we had the Meerkat experience. Our lovely little Meerkats made the experience fascinating. In the hour we spent with them and Nanette, we learned so much about these inquisitive beautiful animals. We where allowed in the enclosure with a bit of special gear provided to help meerkats know we where not a threat. Within minutes of sitting down I had one on my lap and then on my shoulder having a look out into the meadow for any potential threats. I honestly could have stayed longer however, each visit is a private appt. and there was more to see as we where privileged to get a look at several birds of prey and to actually hand feed a vulture. Our next visit will definitely be a Falconry experience! I applaud Nanette and her husband for all the love and care they give their birds and Meerkats. The knowledge and passion Nanette displayed for her charges was incredible. I highly recommend this as a wonderful experience for almost any special occasion or simply a new adventure. I am already looking forward to our next visit.

The 2 hour experience was a birthday present for my 12 year old son. He loved every single minute of it and can't wait to go back. Nanette and Phil were AMAZING hosts; welcoming, warm, funny ... and knew EVERYTHING there was to know about their beautiful birds! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

I took my son as a gift for his 8th birthday for the halk walk. Nanette was so lovely and welcoming. She taught us so much about the birds it was a wonderful experience. I am really looking forward to going back!

Amazing!! Spent the morning doing the meerkat experience which includes time with the birds of prey. Loved every minute. You have plenty of time in the meerkats enclosure where they climb on you and sit on your lap and shoulder. Then your taken to the birds of prey where you get the chance to hold two owl's and feed a vulture. We were a family of 6 adults, 4 doing the experience and 2 spectating. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time there and will definitely be returning. I highly recommend vale royal falconry.

I found my visit to the centre absolutely brilliant and Nanette really made me feel welcome and further educated me regarding the birds. A positive distraction from all of life's hassles and I will definitely be returning. Dennis the owl would even melt Boris Johnsons heart and would have got a deal done by now !

My family attended a hawk walk today with my 11 and 9 year old sons. Nanette was attentive, interesting and a fantastic host. She was full of interesting information and made the experience fun for us all. The afternoon was very hands on and we all thoroughly enjoyed meeting the beautiful birds and interacting with them. The experience was tailored to my sons preferences by Nanette and at no point were we rushed or hurried along, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. We were lucky enough to also meet Phil who showed us the falcons and had lots of time for my sons and shared interesting knowledge with them. Clearly this is a passion for them both and it shows in their beautiful centre and their relationships with the birds. It was a welcome break to the past few months of 2020, we will be returning in the future and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you

An awesome day out! My mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday meerkat experience at the centre. There was even a happy birthday sign in the meerkat enclosure. Each family got to spend quality time sitting with the meerkats as they climbed upon you. We then went to handle owls of all sizes and feed a vulture. It was an amazing day! I definitely recommend it; in fact we are going to book the hawk and eagle experience for September. Thank you Nanette for making my mum’s birthday truly unforgettable. A* experience!

We have always enjoyed the displays that vale royal falconry put on when visiting local fetes, so decided to take the kids for an afternoon after the first lockdown. We all really enjoyed the meerkats and bird of prey encounter which involved going into the meerkat enclosure and being clambered all over, then meeting and holding a variety of owls and other birds of prey. Owners are very friendly and informative.

We had a brilliant time here, both our boys and us throughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely brilliant day out, I’ve never been so close to these fantastic birds and I really enjoyed every minute, Nanette and Phil are so knowledgable and it made the whole experience even more interesting.

I had such an amazing time! Spending time with meerkats and having them climb on my shoulders has been a dream for a long time and it did not disappoint. I was very impressed with the owls and the vultures too. I've never handled an owl or fed a vulture before, so the whole experience was unique for me. Nanette is so knowledgeable and experienced and takes such good care of the birds and the meerkats. I really wish I could stay for a few days and do everything over and over again.

Visited this morning. We had the meerkat experience, which was super. Then went on to look at different birds, owls, kestrels etc. And finally fed the vulture, what an experience. Lovely morning and very informative.

I was lucky enough to be gifted The Owl Prowl for my Birthday/Christmas present back in December 2019. Unfortunately due to the Global Pandemic we were unable to visit until a few weeks ago. My Mum and I were greeted by Nanette who has been extremely accommodating throughout the last 18 months and whom honoured the gift experience, although it was significantly later than anticipated. Nanette was lovely! Welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We both enjoyed the time we spent with Nanette and the Owls. It was an absolute pleasure to get up close with them and would highly recommend The Owl Prowl to anyone of any age! Really enjoyable visit. The meerkat experience was wonderful and hands on. Holding the owls and having a vulture take food from you was superb and the lady was really knowledgeable. All precautions taken so felt safe at all times. Really recommend anyone to visit.

We've been a couple times first for a Hawk Walk and second for Meerkat experiences. Both times exceptional animals are wonderfully looked after and the experience is well worth the money. Definitely worth doing.

Had a fabulous time here. Very knowledgeable and friendly hosts. They got out a range of birds for us to see during the Hawk & Eagle experience day that we bought as a Christmas present for our Dad. Safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed it and we highly recommend any of these experiences if you're interested in birds of prey.

Fantastic day. This was a Christmas present we bought for our daughters who are in their 20's. It was a private Meerkat experience and they loved it. Nanette was so knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. It was also great to have some time with the birds of prey afterwards. She spent a lot of time with us and we fed the vultures which was great. I didn't like vultures much before this experience but she explained all about this type of bird and has actually made me change my mind. I would definitely recommend this experience for any age.
