We were thrilled to see such a comprehensive exhibit as we are from Martinez, California and share the John Muir legacy. Our dear friend Will Collin and the team at the birthplace have done a wonderful job with both the permanent and rotating exhibits. Well done!!

Excellent museum - although the building is original, the interior is a modern museum rather than a mock-up of what it would have been like. The information is very well presented, and the two staff that I spoke to were friendly and helpful. And entry is free.

The story of John Muir beautifully told through displays, videos and interactive exhibits. We didn’t expect to be so moved by John’s story.

Very nice memorial to John Muir. The 3 levels of museum were really interactive and well made. I'm a native Californian and outdoors enthusiast, so this place is a memorial to one of my heroes!

A little gem in Dunbar. I loved this museum dedicated to John Muir. It will be useful for my teaching also. Keen for the kids to do an award. Give a donation if you can.

John Muir was an incredible force for conservation and it was a pleasure visiting his birthplace. Dunbar is a also a wonderful place to visit and walk along the rocky coastline.

Best museum ever! Really inspiring. Three floors, going through John Muir's life chronologically. Easy to read panels, photographs, plus some videos. Some interactive displays & a fun quiz. A must see if you love being outdoors, in nature, interested in conservation, & beautiful prose, or history in general. What a man! The museum really captures who he was; & it's free.
