Did both lifeboat tours here, one by Judith (Discovery Tour), and one by Tony (All Weather Lifeboat Tour), and were excellent, letting you see parts of the RNLI you wouldn’t normally think about, or see on TV. The hotel room was comfortable and very nicely decorated.

What a wonderful facility. We stumbled on this and then booked on tour. 7.50 well spent. An hour and a half and good information saw a couple of videos, met the engineers training in the engine shed, saw the various boats in for refit, saw the training pool in action, and went in the training simulator. Very knowledgeable guide. I believe there are other tours which I will now be checking out times and availability. There is also a restaurant and bar on site which I told is very good but can't comment. There is also a hotel. If you are in the area I suggest you check it out

One of the nicest, friendliest, cosiest hôtels I have ever stayed in. Warm, comfortable, quiet room with perfect views over Stokes Bay. Free parking and good WiFi. Full of fascinating displays about RNLI history. Staff all tip top. Nothing is too much trouble. Food in the Rigger's restaurant is great. Well cooked, tasty, plenty of it and very fairly priced. All round excellent value for money. Even Lenny Henry would have to agree. Perfect base to explore the richness of Poole harbour, Purbeck, all Dorset and the New Forest. Most highly recommended.

We loved our stay at this hotel, such a great experience that you can't get anywhere else. Clean, comfortable rooms with views that could never get tired, so much to look at. The restaurant food was lovely for both evening meal and breakfast. It really has been done well and would highly recommend.

Great hotel in a nice location, reasonably priced too. Dinner and breakfast were both very good, especially the breakfast. Corona on tap in the bar was a nice surprise. The only slight negative would be that I did find the room a little too warm during the night. However, I would definitely recommend and would be happy to stay here again.

The RNLI is a legendary organisation and the facility here in Poole is fantastic. Well worth a visit! Lots of volunteers training on the day I visited and it the mechanics of this organisation happening in front of you.

The RNLI College is spectacular. The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. The food and ambiance is lovely. It's really impressive to see all that the RNLI is able to achieve from public donations. 10/10 recommendation.

This is our favorite, GoTo place to stay in Poole. Immaculate clean rooms, fabulous service (Yeah for Ben @ the front desk!) With fabulous views of the port. Breakfast is superb !

A good hotel in a very convenient location. The views from every room are great (the harbour) and the breakfast is very good quality and there is a massive selection. Only stayed for the location - parking is free but not obvious...just go through the entrance barrier then through another barrier into the pay and display car park...don't pay..you will be given a ticket for your windscreen in reception It's not quite 5 star but it's not trying to be either. Rooms are tidy and functional. Make sure you walk on the walkway through the site, a grumpy chef shouted across the car park at me to do so when no cars were anywhere to be seen. Again walkway not explained or obvious from the reception to the car park. Didn't enjoy being shouted at by a grumpy employee.

Service very disappointing I attended private event. Restaurant couldn’t serve soup and roll in less than 20 min. Had to ask for water and glasses in meeting room - and then they only had three jugs. Dinner was average. Just not tuned into customers. For an organisation which pretends to excellence this was not up to standard. Avoid.

Enjoyed a fantastic tour of the training facilities with Nick. Unexpected simulator trip for us all, really realistic. Stayed overnight in an extremely clean and comfy room, very well thought out. Enjoyed a lovely dinner and breakfast. Would definitely consider staying again.

We saw a promotion on Facebook and booked a night in the training centre hotel and a tour of the facilities. So glad we did, what an interesting experience. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and we got to try out the lifeboat simulator and see the training pool (it wasn’t in action when we were there at the weekend, but we did get to see videos of people being trained in it). The hotel room was spotless and comfortable and we had breakfast and an evening meal in the restaurant. The food was of a decent pub style standard. The company running the restaurant had apparently recently changed and some of the newer waiting staff (not RNLI) needed a little more training. Overall though, a really good experience and one that I have already recommended to others. I would certainly visit again.

We attended a launch a memory event. This was such a well organised and sensitive experience. Full of interesting information after light refreshments. We were then escorted to view our loved ones name printed on the brand new Shannon Series life boat. Such friendly and helpful volunteers were present and all helped to make our experience memorable. Well done RNLI.

Stayed overnight before attending the RNLI 'Launch A Memory' celebration on 20th August 2022! Absolutely wonderful experience! Helpful staff, wonderful accommodation, good food! This was our second visit! We will be back!

V informative tour explaining the training work of the college and the history and ethos of the RNLI, including, in the country's largest training pool (with a Force 4 wave-machine sea on our visit), a demo of using a gas-filled 'balloon' to right a capsized lifeboat after its crew had safely swum out from beneath it and then had to clamber back aboard the violently rocking boat. The children in our tour group loved piloting the full-size lifeboat simulator out of Dover harbour and around a blazing vessel at sea. And all (almost) this done by volunteers (if only those claiming to run the country were so committed!).

An excellent tour of this amazing facility. We watched a live training exercise in the rescue pool and experienced an at sea rescue in the RNLI simulator. Our guide was so knowledgeable and entertaining it helped make this an unforgettable experience. The best value for £7.50 ever!

Wonderful place to go and see how the rescue boat volunteers are trained. We had a guide through the beautiful spacious clean facility. There was a restaurant which was very good. We saw the engines that are used on the boats and the boats themselves. I learnt so much more about the rescue lifeboat and the volunteers. I have already supported them and continue to support them with donations and in my world as legacy. I really recommend that you go and get a tour. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and helpful. It was a joy to be there.

Stayed one night, room was very nice. Ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent, one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Breakfast was an amazing buffet style, all you can eat included in the price. Only grumble was having the room next to housekeepers store and been awoken at 6am on a Sunday as they got their trolleys ready.
