Nice National Trust beach a short drive, or walk at low tide, from Newquay. The river Gannel flows down one side of the beach and has strong currents so not suitable for swimming. The rest of the beach however is fine. There is a truck selling ice cream etc which sets up in the summer months. Car parking is chargeable at national trust rates and free for members. The overflow car park is privately owned and charges are different. Dogs are allowed on the beach year round. The road to the beach gets busy from mid morning in the summer so get there early!

Beautiful place and a great place to walk. My Nordic Walking Group - Walk Kernow love it here. Finish your walk with a cuppa or meal at C Bay...perfect!

When the good weather arrives in the UK there are some truly stunning locations and Crantock beach is one of them. It is a naturally beautiful location managed by the National Trust. Refreshments are provided by a converted ex-military truck situated on the beach, which itself is just a short walk from the NT car park.

Crantock has a fantastic dog friendly beach with mobile refreshment facilities and toilets in the car park. The village a ten minute walk from the beach has a tea garden and two good pubs serving quality food.

Lovely big beach with inlet river so plenty of places to take children crabbing or to simply set up and relax and enjoy the beach views.

Wow! We found this area of beach accidentally whilst trying to get somewhere else... parked in the public car park adjoining the Bowgie Inn and walked down to the beach area there. To discover natural plunge pools, caverns, a vast expanse of beach, surfers... We took good care to keep a constant watch on the tide and river flow behaviours as I figured it's easy to get cut off very quickly on the upper section of beach. But it was absolutely stunning and a highlight of our trip.
