I must start by complimenting the staff. I can't remember when I last encountered such a welcoming team! From the ticket office to the tea room, burger van to the gent who waves you off, absolutely first class. The owners have done a great job in creating a family friendly attraction in a short space of time. The dinosaurs and medieval village are all nicely themed with loads of educational material dotted around. For the older visitors like myself, the walled gardens and woodland walk are pleasant and the house beautiful, I just wish there was more of it open. Overall good place to spend a few hours.

We had a brilliant day out here, four adults and 2 kids (8 and 1). So much to do! We definitely didn't do everything but we loved everything we did see. A huge shout-out to the two people on the gates with dinosaur dungarees (I've forgotten your names sorry!) We got the warmest welcome and then another lovely chat as we left. You can tell they are really proud of Fonmon Castle so we really want to recommend that you visit! Food was delicious, really good quality and freshly cooked (salads fresh from the walled gardens). The castle itself is like being at a National Trust property - beautiful grounds and gardens. You definitely must go!

My daughter and her 2 dinosaur mad friends (age 4) had a fabulous day at Fonmon. One of the school mum's posted about the day and we decided to visit on Good Friday. We got there for the opening time (10am) and aside from a little argument with sat nav, the journey and parking was straight forward. We had brought a picnic and after a little walkabout we settled for having our packed lunch in a converted railway cabin in the woods. We then meandered around the grounds, petting area pirate play area, wildlife bug hunt and dinosaur walk. We had a final drink and ice cream in the castle grounds before one final play in the converted aeroplane! At no time did we feel rushed, it was a lovely easy day. The most pleasing thing was the refreshments, rides and optional extras were very reasonably priced unlike other tourist attractions. Top tips Sunscreen for warm days as this is an outdoor setting with a few places for cover/shade A little bag for rubbish as the bins are only in the food areas Wet wipes - if we've had rain as we often do in Wales, it can be muddy The only thing I would recommend is an additional portaloo or 2 in the further away areas. Little bladders can sometimes be tricky! Definitely visiting again though!

First time visiting Fonmon Castle but won’t be the last. There is plenty to keep the kids entertained, some of the site is pushchair and wheelchair friendly but not all. We spent 4 hours walking round, finding new areas to explore. Lots of dinosaurs to see but also something for all ages.

We did the Christmas experience last night. Have to say it's the best one we have been to. So much to do and see. Light show, dinosaurs, santa experience, a santa show, animals, theres a food court, rides, traditional funfair games, a bar, a story trail and all the staff are so happy and friendly. Can't go wrong!

We went for the Halloween event which we've tried to book before but always gets sold out quickly. We booked months ahead for this reason. We spent best part of 5 hours there & the hours just flew but we had so much fun. They make such a lovely effort & every staff member we spoke to was just so lovely, helpful & informative. The event is definitely worth going to & suitable for all ages. The scare trail was so much fun, we screamed and laughed lots...I actually did it twice! Also visited earlier in the year for a jousting event which we enjoyed too. Will def go to more events there!

Such a lovely day out with the kids, lots to see and do. Some very steep paths and bits that aren't buggy-friendly but lots of alternative routes and flat areas. Food hall is great quality but could do with better choice. Really missing a trick not having more little food/drink stalls around - we were thirsty down by the pirate play, on the woodland walk. Staff were lovely and friendly everywhere. Excellent space to bring a picnic from home. Really worth the money, will be back!

Arrived at opening time 10am left at 3.30pm the kids - both boys 5 years old and 8 years old and husband and I very happy. Kids and us adults had a great time all day! It’s a good full day out, lots of safe places for the kids to walk about and play, kids loved the dinosaur route. Staff there are fantastic very welcoming and nice, the food area selling beef burgers etc was honestly best burger and chips I’ve ever had! I will definitely be recommending fonmon castle to people I know!

The castle and grounds are stunning. Well maintained and fantastic for the whole family. Lots to see and do. Going on the Superhero weekend was the best. Whilst our toddler was a little overwhelmed at times, the staff/actors were all amazing and accommodating. From grandparents, to grandchildren, this was a wholesome day out and we will be returning for many more future events. Parking was easy and only a few areas were inaccessible to pushchairs. Plenty of picnic areas and places to purchase food and drink. Can't recommend enough!!

We visited here on a superhero event day and my son had the best time! One woodland walk was too muddy to do, however there were plenty of things to keep us busy. We spent 5hrs here in total, enjoying most of what they had to offer. We visited 'Gotham Manor', met lots of characters and had lots of photos. We did the story trail, play area, archery, saw all the dinosaurs, walked down to the pirate part for some play and even held an owl while in the farmyard area (which just has rabbits, chickens and goats). Great day out for a very reasonable price!

Kids loved it, would recommend getting there before lunch as it will take a lot of time to get round! Take note of where the toilets are. The pirate area is a bit meh.

We are so glad that we found Fonmon castle for our dinosaur fan. Such a great venue with plenty of space for children to run around and play. The fuselage is the first thing you come to and that was so popular. So many children playing inside, at the end of the visit a child found toys in one of the cabin crew lockers so they were all even more excited. Plenty of play areas all around. There were plenty of dinosaurs to see and routes to suit different ability walkers. The only negatives for me were that we were the first people in and the disabled car park was already full (I am assuming staff, no badges on display), apart from one space furthest away from the entrance, we parked on the opposite side (which was clear) by the ticket office and were asked to move for emergency vehicles which is absolutely understandable, so we had to park in the furthest space away, a bit later on there were cars parked by the ticket office where we were originally going to park. If staff are using the disabled car park as well, maybe they could park furthest away so disabled people could park as close as possible. I am not sure if it was closed or if it is how it normally is but you weren't able to look around the castle, apart from the walkway to the toilets which is a shame as it looks a lovely building. We were fortunate to be able to hire the tramper, I highly recommend, it was a godsend for my partner. The main thing, for me, going for the venue was the staff. They were all absolutely incredible, so friendly, so welcoming and helpful. From the minute we arrived until we left. A credit to the place. The ladies in the food truck were lovely and fun and bubbly, nothing was too much trouble and the staff dotted about were all chatty and friendly also. The man in the shop was chatty and interested, so helpful and great advice. They all make the place even more special than it already is. I recommend they consider getting a Fonmon Castle magnet, I heard a few people ask and it would have been nice to add one to our collection lol. We will definitely be going back.

Really enjoyable visit. The staff are so friendly and helpful it really enhances the experience. Lots to do and see, we spent 5 hours there so great value for money. The chips were particularly good and a lovely eating area. The dinosaur trail is very impressive and well done with interesting facts. The only downside was the drive to get to it was difficult through country lanes but well worth it.

What can we say other than, a superb day out for all of us! Our 4 & 5 year old loved it! They were so tired when we left after a fun filled day! From the moment we arrived, all the staff were so friendly and made our visit extra special! We came for the dinosaur walk, but ended up falling in love with the whole place! We are now booking Halloween and Father Christmas visits! A brilliant day out, definitely a must for young families!

I had the best day out here at Fonmon Castle. The children were 2 and 5 and both absolutely loved it. The grounds are beautiful and so much space for the children to run free. The story trail was excellent, I may have been more enthralled into what happened with Fon and Mon than the children! But the activities at each point kept them busy. There was plenty of things to see and do around every corner. The attention to detail is perfect and made for a lovely experience for us all. A special mention to the staff who were all so very welcoming and in perfect character 👌🏼 We will be back 🙌🏼

Took our grandson here, and he absolutely loved it. It was a great day out with lots to do and see, especially if you're a dinosaur fan.

I absolutely love it here. Came for the scare trail which was fantastic at Halloween. Then came last week for santa, the elves and the absolutely amazing grinch - loved him! Took the time with my boy for as long as he wanted to speak, light trail is better than the likes of luminate and the story trail was sweet. Love the place ❤️

Brilliant day out with so much to do and see. Dinosaur trail and show, gardens, a woodland story trail with fairy garden, a medieval animal section with stalls and a lovely park. Plenty for all ages, lots of food stalls and a nice cafe. Staff worth a special mention - they were all very friendly and helpful.

Great visit today, we have been before and will again, staff super friendly. Greeted and given a quick run though what there was and we're the best hiding spots from the rain were if needed. Vicky at the dinosaur show was great and seemingly was everywhere from the show to the medieval village and then again at the cafe helping with drinks and snacks (good coffee too btw) The story wizard was great, he was amazing at being lovely to our son and brought him out of his shell with easy spotting tasks and nice stories about the fairy village. Rained a lot but took nothing away from the day lots of covering trees on the dinosaur trail and places to sit in like an actual fuselage of an actual plane!! We stopped down the ravine off the dinosaur trail, where the pirate section was, to have our picnic on a land train. Stayed for 4 hours, but could have easily spent the day there with our picnic if we had come sooner. So many places to take pictures, lots of photos stands to put your head through too, and a few life size dinosaur heads to climb inside to look like you're being eaten. Don't often leave reviews but I really couldn't not. Highly recommend. Even kept my shirt and coat for me that another visitor had handed in, 10 out of 10.

This place is very much kid based. There are lots of walks with beautiful gardens to look around. Almost this there are dinosaurs scattered all around with plenty of spaces to sit and rest. The food situation was limited as there wasn't a lot of choice. Everything was out of a burger van, apart from the mobile coffee maker. There was toilets here and PLENTY of parking. We booked our tickets in advance but you can buy them on the day. It is a little costly for what is actually there but all in all we enjoyed the day and would probably visit again soon. Photos to follow.

The three stars is for the place, we went over Easter weekend and they had an external medieval group in, who where excellent. The castle is open but only the ground floor and I wouldn't recommend it as a castle only visit. Site is packed with things to see and do, some very odd and others really interesting 🤔. If it's wet you need wellies. Family of 5 kids aged 8-14.

We came here for the christmas light trail and it was lovely! On entry the staff greeted us and gave us a map and directions, they were very friendly. We were unable to explore the castle due to health and safety as it was dark when we came but there was still plenty to see. We even met the wizard He's awesome and great with the kids! My grandaughter loved him and even gave him a cuddle! Mrs Claus had her own little hut with a sneezing dinosaur that blew foam over the kids and they loved it! There are also huge dinosaur figures and a little owl home with a lovely guy who cares for them. I will definitely return here in the day time to explore it more, we really did have a wonderful time, I would recommend this place highly.

What a great day out we had here. Staff were super friendly. The grounds are huge. Kids loved the Dinosaurs trail and all the Dino related features. The medieval village was great fun and they got to hold an Owl. Plenty of places for a packed lunch but also some food to order if needed. Nice play areas as well. Brilliant day. Kids can’t wait to go back.

Really lovely day out for my three children aged 2,5 and 8. Very good customer service everyone was welcoming and informative. We really enjoyed the fairy tail story and the dinosaurs. Plenty to keep you busy with playgrounds as well. We took a picnic but lots of places to buy food and eat your picnic indoors if the weather was bad. We had a buggy and most of the grounds were accessible although some steep walks and steps.

  • 5/5 Dean M. 2 years ago on Google
Wonderful place for a family day out! Very easy to spend a number of hours here. So many dinosaurs, woodland walks, pirate play and plenty of gardens to explore. Lovely food there and very friendly staff! Would highly recommend

  • 4/5 Stephen D. 2 years ago on Google
Really good day out and something for everyone. Some parts aren't exactly pushchair friendly but we managed. Be aware that if you follow the Dino trail into the revein that it's a steep walk back up the hill. My only gripes are that there is only one room in the castle that you can Vue and everything is expensive so take your own food and drink! Spent a good 4 hours walking around so defiantly worth it.

A great day out, lots to see and do. Dinosaurs, Pirates, fairies, animals and a dragon. Good food, very friendly staff, really made a fuss of our little girl, we can’t wait to return. Already booked for Halloween and Christmas!

This was such a lovely family day out! Grounds and attractions were great, staff very friendly and enthusiastic. Dinosaurs, wildlife track, fairies, dragons and a mad hatters tea party. Playground, shops, food available or you can take in your own. Kids, parents and grandparents enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
