We spent a night at Glenthorne and we really enjoyed our stay there. The house has separate studio-apartments that are beautifully furnished and a fully equipped kitchen. The location is pretty quiet and the bed very comfortable. You can also have a walk in the park around the Castle nearby. The communication with the host was also very easy and she is really kind. I definitely recommend it!

Very nice, spotlessly clean room and shower/ bathroom. Little extras like a fridge with milk, kettle and different assortment of beverages available. TV and comfortable bed. Downside was that when the next door room used its water in the night it made a noise in the pipes and woke me up. No view out of the window. Not the fault of the booking but I couldn’t find a decent place to eat in the town on the rainy night I stayed.

Lovely home . Room was perfect size . Clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was also a nice size. It's a great location and the price was very good. Parking is on the street but I had no problem finding parking.

Great place to stay, on street parking a bit tight, ended up round the corner but only 5 min walk away. Room fantastic, really clean, nice little touches and proper milk 😁

Do not stay here if you’re not White. I’m putting 1 star as there’s no Zero Star. 1. Even though I had booked almost 3 months in advance my booked studio apartment was rented to another person. 2. The host tried to pass it off as my fault (said that was the room I booked) until I showed her photo evidence upon which she gave an insincere apology. 3. The option she presented me was to move rooms every night or move to another apartment which she was to arrange. Upon my agreement to move to the new place which she said was even more modern than hers she proceeded to inflate the price and threaten to kick me out after one night if I didn't pay that. 4. The said new apartment was horrible in every sense! it was clearly still being prepared and was furnished in rustic chic style which is absolutely not what I wanted. There were horns and cattle heads in the room! 5. I had to lug myself and my luggage(again!) back to Glenthorne and take the room without kitchen facilities and move every night for the rest of my stay. 6. The next day she eventually kicked me out because I wouldn't go out early. She offered to give a full refund but didn’t do that. 4. This lady is very dishonest and would lie back and forth about even little things to cover her mistakes! Because I see everyone else has enjoyed their stay and the warmth of the host my only conclusion is that the only reason I could possibly have been treated as horribly and disrespectfully as Clare did ( despite her SUPPOSED mistake )was that I didn't have a British/Welsh accent or surname. Great place to stay if you're planning on hiking in Brecon Beacon park, although Merthyr Tydfil itself isn't that interesting. The room was very clean and cozy and was cleaned every morning. The only downside (just to give a heads up if you're planning on staying) is that there are no good parking options in the area. If you're lucky you can park your car somewhere along the road closeby, but that wasn't the case for us since they were constantly occupied. Luckily you can unload your car on the driveway first.

Absolutely 💯 The accommodation is lovely. Spotlessly cream. Claire pays attention to the details of comfort and kindness for her guests. 😊 Welsh cakes with a cuppa most welcome 😀 Would recommend.

The room had everything needed for a stay. It was clean, comfortable and was more than adequately fitted with a fridge and cooking facilities. Cold milk and water was also available. So thoughtful. Would stay again.

A gem. Large room, excellent decor.. high ceilings.. altogether excellent price. Not far from the train station and nearby to an excellent restaurant (Murray's Grill). Air conditioning, a kitchen.. I'm astounded. Attention to detail amazing! I will only stay here from now on.

Blew my expectations out of the water! I didn’t know that it came with a kitchenette complete with a washer, stovetop, and oven! The bed was super comfy with good pillows and thick duvet. I just wish we could have stayed longer

This is the 3rd time I've stayed here. Always clean and comfortable. Quiet area. Lovely little extra items, bottled milk and water in the fridge and Welsh cakes. It is very close to the town centre. Just a little uphill, if walking there but an easy walk downhill going into town !
