Lichfield Cathedral is one of the most iconic cathedrals in the UK. The structure, the design, the interior layout, and other historical figures are extraordinary and amazing. It was my first time to visit this city so I decided to go around the town. The maintenance of the grass is greener and well kept healthy.

This is an excellent example of a Gothic Cathedral. It is located in Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. The town is nice place to visit during the summer months. The Cathedral itself is spectacular from the outside. There are walkways on the outside so you can walk around the entire building. If you are a person that love cathedrals this is a must visit. Loved it.

Fantastic Cathedral with some Amazing Architecture, First time I've managed to go inside the Cathedral, we was greeted by a very freindly man on entering who provided us with a site map and explained that they had a one was system in operation. He was very pleasant and didn't mind answering any questions we had. The admission was Free. Walking around the cathedral was great and it showcases how amazing they used to build in the past and still has the wow factor today. We found our visit very knowledgeable.

What a beautiful, stunning place. We could have walked around for hours. A lovely, polite lady welcomed us when we walked in and explained about the one way system in place then we were left alone to wander and take in all that the cathedral offered. It was free to enter and lovely and warm once inside. This place is absolutely stunning, can't begin to describe the beautiful stained glass windows, go and have a look your self.

A gem of a find in Lichfield, with the most amazing architecture I have seen in UK cathedrals. One would be mistaken they are indeed in the UK! Such beauty both externally with epic detail, and inside such grand design with high ceilings, stain glass windows, art, sculptures and more. Overall, a very peaceful place to visit and a highly recommended experience and visit to such a beautiful cathedral.

Fantastic old English church, with over 1300 years of history. Really a gem frozen in time. The nave is architecturally beautiful with a space that just seems to go on. The organ console (where the organist plays) is actually up in the second story in the nave. Must see when you pass though town. Exterior of the cathedral is weathered sandstone having many exquisite carvings and statues. Even the much younger (relatively speaking) Wooden Close building dates back to the early 1500s.

Lichfield Cathedral is the only medieval three-spired Cathedral in the UK, and is a treasured landmark in the heart of England. It is one of the oldest places of Christian worship, and the burial place of the great Anglo-Saxon missionary Bishop, St Chad. This magnificent building has a rich history, reflected in its architecture and treasures. As a place of great beauty, it continues to inspire and encourage all who visits it as tourists, pilgrims or worshippers. We are committed to the daily offering of worship and prayer to God, and offer spiritual nourishment and welcome all who come on their own journey of search and discovery. In addition to daily services, the Cathedral also acts as a stunning venue for a range of events including concerts, gala dinners, festivals, awards ceremonies, performances, debates, educational forums and more.

This is an amazing Cathedral I got very emotional when I entered the door knowing that King Charles II had been there. I also saw his monument sadly his nose and lips had been chiseled off likely due to anger for the Jabobites. You can see some of the destruction caused by Cromwell with the faces of angels smoothed down to disguise their true features.

What an impressive architecture to behold of this only medieval English cathedral with three spires. We were allowed inside for a quick tour at just £2 per person. The officials were very friendly and even gave information of when and how to attend a proper service there. You can tell from the outside that this is almost a thousand years old but the inside is as reasonably fresh and preserved as it can gets. The parking nearby is reasonably with just £1 for the whole day if you are visiting on a weekend (the Cathedral does not own the parking). You can have a lovely walk around the carnal nearby too.

Had my covid-19 injection here today, feeling blessed that I've had my first inoculation, a big thank you to the cathedral and NHS staff who made my visit a pleasant one.

Such a majestic medieval gothic castle in a pretty market town. The cathedral dominates the surroundings and its spires can be seen from miles away.

Absolutely beautiful inside the cathedral.great architecture and stained windows.guide gave us lots of information when asked but allowed us to wander quietly when we wanted. Hoping to go during Remembrance week when there are light displays of poppies and soldiers illuminating the wonderful walls and ceilings.

Not the greatest cathedral in the world, its not the biggest, its not the best looked after and neither is it famous. Because of all these things it is much more accessible and friendly. Its really quite nice!

My first view of the cathedral was from The Close, and I just thought WOW. The main double fronted facade that faces you, is so impressive, and I think the majority of people would have the same reaction. Until visiting this weekend, I never knew Lichfield had a cathedral, and no one has ever said about it before. It has to be one of the top hidden gems to go and see. The interior is just has good , with outstanding stainglassed windows, the main Nave & Choir areas which are huge.

A cathedral where remembering the dead is the key focus. Loads of tombs and commemorations of the military. Despite this, the architecture is interesting though simple, and there are some excellent stained glass windows.

I was only in Lichfield a few hours and came across the cathedral by chance. What a gem to behold! Religion aside (not for me), this is a stunning cathedral with outstanding, intricate architecture. Inside it is beautiful. Huge ceilings, statues, carved wooden pews etc. It is free admission but they recommend a donation. £5 well spent to keep this amazing piece of history maintained. I spent an hour last n here just absorbing the history and splendour, but could’ve spent two hours quite happily!

Wonderful history you can touch and enjoy close up. The moon was a draw for our grandchildren, but once inside they enjoyed a walk round and asked lots of questions, we'll worth a visit fir the architecture alone !

Went on the 11.00 am guided tour which was supposed to last 50 minutes. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and obviously totally in love with the building. Fully recommended.

I came to this beautiful cathedral for Elvis by Candlelight which my friend JD King was performing in I found the experience so magical and emotional. The staff were helpful and friendly, there was so much room for a good dance and the stage was a good height for all to see what was happening. I had the best time and would definitely come back.

I’m no scholar but for sheer grandiose accomplishment that you can see touch smell and experience visit Lichfield Cathedral. I Visited with a dear friend, although I admit I’m very late writing a review better late than never. A day well spent indeed; Lichfield Cathedral… a beautiful place to see, to walk around and go inside. The awe inspiring architecture and absolute splendour is breathtaking. Even if you aren’t a religious person I would recommend going and seeing something so wonderfully realised and constructed it could almost make non believers convert! That men; many hundreds of years ago built such wonders to last to the present time and beyond is (pardon the pun) of biblical proportions.😳 So go and look 👀 at the place, you won’t be disappointed in seeing what mankind can achieve.👍 Plenty of car parks within a brief walking distance of the Cathedral and an all round nice place to visit for leisure and shopping. Beautiful 😍

Went for the Gaia event. £5 per ticket. Beautiful cathedral. First time I've been to Lichfield. Would like to go again during the day as I would love to see the stained glass windows in the light.

Beautiful building with so much history. So worth a visit. It always amazes me how these buildings were created way back when the only way to build was with man power, no machinery. How much work was put into them. Lichfield Cathedral is stunning.

I entered the cathedral and was just gobsmacked by the size of the globe. We spent ages exploring and even spoke to a vicar. Im a massive fan of church's and cathedral's, the architecture is just jaw dropping. The staff were so freindly and inviting, i will be coming back and its well worth a visit.

Visited Lichfield Cathedral first time and so much impressed. Definitely a remarkably beautiful cathedral. There are lots of interesting features to look at. I was amazed by this cathedral. It was huge and gorgeous. I have visited couple of cathedrals but this is the biggest one I have ever visited. If you are traveling England please add this to your attraction list.

In the modern age to combine community use and historic monument in this way- stunning. They placed a huge rotating dome in the centre isle with learning clubs for kids. The ww2 area on the history of German prisoners in cannock chase was excellent and touching

I absolutely loved the Advent Sunday, all souls day and All Saints day, a very moving experience 😭. Remembering dear friends lost, my own personal journey, and reflecting on life itself. Very sad the Poppy fields was cancelled I was so looking forward to this, however I get great, inner peace and strong spiritual experience every time I visit the Cathedral 💒😇. Cold and imposing. Falling to pieces. Lots of stonework is eroded. Scaffolding is holding parts up. Floor tiles uneven, loose and even missing in places. Lots of history to enjoy but as a centre piece for lichfield visitors, a lot of money needs to b spent to bring it to its former glory.

Lichfield Cathedral is such a stunningly beautiful place, we all loved it as a family. Some parts weren't open i think due to Covid so we will definitely go back when they are. And one of the volunteers was so kind & took the time to tell us about the history of the Cathedral, he was a lovely old man.

I'm lucky it's a beautiful building and it's only a one mile walk from my house. It is not far from Dr Johnson's birthday place in Lichfield market place, and Erasmus Darwin, Charles' grandfather lived at the end of the Cathedral Close. The Lunar society met in Darwin's house. There's a lot of history in Lichfield. It has been called the city of Philosophers.
