Had a fantastic experience at Sharpham Retreat, I came home feeling relaxed, peaceful and calm. The community feeling was so lovely, I met a wonderful group of people that enriched my journey. The meditation activities were really good for a beginner like myself and I have taken home skills and techniques to use in my daily life. Really great memories, I would definitely recommend 👍

The 6-day mindfulness retreat I attended at The Coach House on the Sharpham Estate in Devon, England, was an oasis of peacefulness, meditation, rural beauty, and - far more than I had expected - connection with a group of strangers (including two wonderful coordinators) who quickly became mindful companions. An unforgettable experience in gorgeous surroundings. 🧘‍♀️🌳🌼

Sharpham House is the most idyllic and tranquil places for a mindfulness retreat. It offered us the perfect conditions to facilitate a deeper connection with ourselves, with the beautiful nature and the rich wild life surrounding the area. Being under the skilful, generous and mindful guidance of our kind, open-hearted coordinators Nina and Will has created the perfect space to bring to light deep powerful insights. I am truly grateful for this life-changing experience.

New to mindfulness and meditation, I could not have picked a more perfect first retreat experience. In the most beautiful Sharpham estate, tucked away in the woods amongst our little yurts, the Deepening Connection with Nature programme did just that. Much time around the fire, talking or listening or singing (even I gave in to it) or just being, much wandering of the stunning gardens, grounds and countryside, supportive leaders, kind retreatants, delicious food, under the sun, storms and stars, it was all wonderfully grounding, gentle and insightful. A very beginner friendly retreat for anyone unsure and outdoor living beginner friendly with an excellent shower block, camp kitchen and individual spacious yurts. Take me back to morning movement looking across that gorgeous view along the Dart.

A nourishing experience in beautiful surroundings with great food and comfortable rooms. Ideal for anyone who is tired stressed or just needs some time out. General retreats attract a wide variety of ages and backgrounds or there are specific ones for certain groups or some featuring particular activities. Lots of repeat custom shows how popular it is

The self-guided retreat in August was wonderfully restorative. Sharpham is such a beautiful place and it provides such warmth and support. This retreat offered free time for each of us to do what we chose; I wanted to draw and paint. Meditation both guided and silent, along with walking, drawing, silence, enjoying the beauty of the garden, delicious meals, and the pleasure of conversations, made it a perfect retreat.

5 Night Silent retreat was a moving experience. The grounds, the food and the facilitation were all to the very highest standards. The 5 days were the perfect opportunity to help enliven my connection to myself and to nature and to deepen my Mindfulness practice. A silent retreat isn’t for everyone and if you haven’t been on one before I would recommend spending time exploring the Sharpham website or getting in touch with them first, or simply looking for other retreats that they offer. I have also picked up their cookbook and will be enjoying making some mindful meals. Thank you again, and I look forward to a return visit. Tom

Really enjoyed my stay during New Years retreat. The house is beautiful and has plenty of places to be on your own if you wish so or to be with other people. Really appreciated the food that was provided and Toast Room with great coffee. The area is beautiful as well, even in winter. I really appreciated the retreat leaders - Maite, Ramiro and Rupert - for their presence and support during retreat, it made me really comfortable. Hope to come in the future and see them again.

This was a wonderful retreat, I had a amazing experience here. Sharpham is a beautiful house in a stunning location. The retreat leader was kind and gentle in her approach and this supported me immensely in my first introduction to mindfulness. The food was divine!!! I would definitely recommend this retreat for anyone embarking on their first journey into mindful meditation.

I had a truly wonderful experience at Sharpham on the 5 day silent retreat. It was a deep delve into stillness and meditation, which was life affirming and nourishing. Sharpham looked after us in every detail, from the kind supportive knowledgeable retreat leaders to the truly delicious food and calm and beautiful atmosphere of the house. And of course the surroundings themselves take centre stage, beautiful gardens, stunning countryside and breath-taking views. Thank you to every one of you who made my stay so special.

Have just returned from the mindfulness for beginners retreat at Sharpham House and what a magical, transformative experience it was! The house and the grounds are truly breath-taking, the natural beauty of the place is a big aspect of what you take away with you; a deeper connection with nature. The facilitators Steven and Lynette were both holding, humorous and skilled mindfulness leaders. Wonderful to learn from and be around. I felt taken care of on this retreat in many ways which I realised was something I deeply needed. The food is delicious and nourishing and the walled garden of veggies was one of my favourite places to spend time. The retreat strikes a good balance between discipline/structured practice with extended periods of silence and time to yourself. In my downtime I enjoyed chatting with others on the retreat, spending time alone reading, swimming in the pool or colouring, just sitting in the gardens. I left the retreat rested, calm and inspired. For anyone feeling a little frazzled by life and in need of slowing down for a reset, this is a good retreat for you. I will be back!

Just attended the 3 night Mindfulness for Beginners course. It was a really great experience, wonderful food, lovely accommodation and stunning grounds and surroundings. The retreat leaders, Ethan and Anne, really made sure that everyone felt comfortable with both mindfulness and meditation. The periods of silence were soothing and restful..Particular highlights included the early morning mindful movement and the silent mindful walk which included stopping at the reed beds. Am now planning on attending a 5 day retreat next year. Thank you so much.

A truly wonderful experience within the stunning surrounds of Sharpham House, with the added backdrop of the River Dart. Breathtaking! And one certainly gets time to breathe at the Retreat. It’s an opportunity to step away from day to day activities submerging oneself within nature and mindfulness activities. The facilitators were wonderful. Supporting and caring. My retreat was for my own personal well-being, in addition to helping inform my work within the therapeutic community. I came away relaxed and richer for the experience.

A wonderfully run property, very very beautiful, with various venues for meditation, to suit all tastes (and pockets?). I've been on two different retreats and although I really loved my time there, I don't feel the need to rush back but I may feel differently in a couple of years' time. It's all about "the group" you share your time with while there and it felt very middle class and not at all representative of "real life" here in the UK. This probably would not worry most people and I would very much recommend Sharpham to anyone looking for a retreat giving them meditation, peace and beauty.

Visited for the first time for a canoe retreat. What a set up. Really, a special place, with amazing leaders. Great food too. Worth visiting just for the rewilding project

Having recently attended a weekend retreat I highly recommend it. Beautiful location, delicious food and a proper rest and rejuvenation. My intention is to keep meditation a part of my life.

This woodland retreat was so nourishing and nurturing. I learnt how to connect to nature in a much deeper way. I slowed right down so that I was really in the moment, and was not aware of time at all. It was wonderful to spend the whole retreat outside in the fresh air in such a beautiful place, the views are awe inspiring. The retreat was well led, the food was delicious and nutritious, and our group bonded well and our hearts opened. We all blossomed :-)

Wonderful 5 night retreat, including meditation, mindfulness, creative activities and guided walks. Wise, compassionate leaders and came away with a lot of tools. Beautiful location and delicious & plentiful vegetarian food. Highly recommend.

This was my 6th retreat with Sharpham in the last 3 years. I feel like it’s my second home! I learn so much about myself while I’m there, and I’ve made friends with like minded people. I cannot recommend this retreat enough. The facilitators are wonderful, so supportive, kind and knowledgeable. The food is healthy and hearty, you won’t go hungry! The setting is breathtaking. Sunrise and sunset are especially beautiful. The birds are the only sounds you hear. It’s a real oasis of calm and tranquility. I’m looking forward to my next retreat.

I’ve fallen in love with Sharpham and will most definitely be back! This was my first retreat and what a magical bubble it provided in a busy world. It was wonderful to disconnect from the world, deepen my mindfulness practice, but most importantly reconnected me with myself. The focus on self compassion was just what I needed and a great balance of teaching and practise. The periods of silence allowed a safe space for deep reflection without ever feeling alone. I felt reconnected to nature in a way I haven’t felt since I was a child, whether that was watching the rain, listening to the wind, or simply in awe of the views. And it was great to be able to share the experience with a totally wonderful group of people. Ethan and Armel led the group brilliantly through the experience. Oh and the food was gorgeous.

I had a truly wonderful experience on the Summer Embrace retreat. Our group leaders were so accommodating, accepting and supportive throughout. I met an amazing group of people and really felt a sense of close connection and community. Highly recommend these retreats for those wanting to become more mindful and embrace nature and tranquility.

I've been on a retreat at the Coach House and done the 8 week mindfulness course this year. And have booked another retreat to kick off the new year. The quality of the teaching, leading facilitating has been excellent and my time at Sharpham has had a noticeable impact on my life. I am more mindful, less easily stressed and am more able to handle my emotions skilfully. I'm very glad to have found Sharpham. P.S. the food on the retreats is fantastic

THE most magical and amazing place for a retreat. I cannot recommend Sharpham highly enough, I'm telling all my friends! The food is divine, the location is breathtaking and the facilitators are highly skilled. I'm creating space in my diary for the next one very soon!
