Amazing views if you visit on a clear day. There’s a bit of a climb up here so make sure you’re fit. It’s an imposing monument right on the top of the hill and you can go inside it where there’s a spiral staircase to the viewing level. There’s no lighting inside on the staircase so bring a torch or your phone torch will suffice.

Absolutely worth the hike, from Todmorden, up to the top. Took me about an hour and a half to reach the peak, then I was amazed I could enter it and walk to a higher balcony! Some incredible views from the top and it wasn't too busy when I was there.

I moved here one year ago and everywhere I’ve been, I’ve been able to see Stoodley Pike from a distance. Finally managed to find the time to reach the top (mid-August 2021) with my family. We had a brilliant walk; the views are incredible even on a cloudy day. I’m also sure there are many other routes up to the top. The statue has some interesting history and it is an incredible feat of engineering… I look forward to visiting time and time again with friends at different points in the year. Take a picnic and a camera!

Very pretty. I took the shortest route straight up the hill it overlooks and it nearly killed me but it was worth it. Lovely views for miles in every direction.

High up. Northern. Windswept. Squally. No loo and cafe. (Just kidding. It's a hill in Yorkshire. What do you expect? It's a fabulous walk and a lovely day out. Dress proper and take supplies. You'll love it.)

Bit of a trek to get here and could imagine it to be quite boggy in places when there has been more rain. The monument has an interesting history being the second to stand in this location. Views from the accessible, via a winding stone staircase, veranda are very good and doesn't cost anything. Easy to add this to a hike whilst visiting the numerous reservoirs located around here.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience visiting Stoodley Pike. The hike up to this historic monument was both exhilarating and rewarding. The panoramic views from the top were breathtaking, and it's a perfect spot to take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside. The monument itself is a testament to the area's history and is a must-visit for anyone interested in local heritage. The trail was well-maintained, and I felt a strong sense of connection with nature throughout my visit. I highly recommend Stoodley Pike to anyone looking for an adventure and a glimpse into the past.

Nice walk/hike with good scenery. We started from the Whitehouse Pub, which is roughly a 11 mile return walk. The route towards it is good with no difficulties

Visited the pike on 26/06/2021. Parked the car on Mankinholes Road about 200 yards from the Pennine Bridleway. Walked to the pike via the main footpaths which took around an hour. The walk is predominantly uphill. Recommend taking a flask and a sandwich etc and enjoying the views from the pike before heading back. Went up to the viewing platform. Take a good torch (your phone torch is not good enough) as it’s absolutely pitch black when on the stone spiral stairs!! 🔦 We walked back to the car via the steep hill that leads to the main footpath. Take a light jacket on hot days because it’s still VERY windy at the top. Would visit again.

One of a series of towers dotted around the countryside, built in a bygone era and left for us to admire today. Great views from all around near the tower and well worth a visit.

A big old monument towering over the Pennines 402m can be see from miles away. You can go up some stairs to a viewing area that is open to the public offering great views over the Pennines and Tedmonton. Lots of walking routes up that families and walkers do. Not to far if you have decent level of fitness. A great day out in beautiful English countryside.

Amazing walk.. I would ensure that you make this walk on a good day, as the last time we tried it was an extremely wet day and made walking difficult. The tower is brilliant and well worth the journey. Take a torch if going inside the Tower ;)

A tough ride up, but well worth the effort..👍 there's a Mini, Mini Sculpture of Stoodley Pike at the entrance to the platform of Todmorden Train Station and another Mini Sculpture opposite the Shell Petrol Station on the road towards Hebdon Bridge..

Great monument overlooking Hebden Bridge with amazing views. We did a 6 mile walk with Stoodley Pike just over half way. Definitely need proper walking shoes as some of the moor land is very marshy. And a torch to climb the tower, as it's pitch black on the stairwell, even in the day time.

Great views, fantastic monument. Internal stairs allow you to climb up to a balcony level - bring a torch and keep an eye on any overly-adventurous kids. Well worth a visit. Look out for some great, old carved graffiti all round it. Wrap up warm too, it's almost always windy at Stoodley Pike!

Beautiful views. Great history. I love the Pennine Way but all the rubbish left inside of Stoodley Pike is revolting. No respect for anything or anyone. That’s why only 4 stars.

Impressive monument with good views all round. Good that you can go inside for free too. Quite a few good paths leading up but can get boggy in places.

Second time doing stoodley pike. Nice scenery once you get up to the top and look around the valleys and hills. Little bit challenging hiking up worth it once you get up there.

It's a 4oo meter climb but it's well worth it, you feel you can 🥫 touch the sky. Another one 1⃣ ticked 📴.

Always such a lovely walk even when the weather isn't great. If you've never been definitely worth the walk up and then finish with a drink in one of the local pubs.

Great walk. We started from Withens Clough Reservoir, from just outside the carpark and up a slope. It's a great path up to the top. Then you can climb up Stoodley Pike up the pitch black steps. It's a great view from the top. If you follow the Yorkshire Water trail back to the reservoir though it's not a great path on the the way back down, plus it's quite easy to miss the path on the right. Very muddy in places and I ended managed to slip ending up with my knees and hand in a boggy puddle! My partner ended up with one muddy trainer and one clean! You definitely need decent walking boots if following this route. I'd definitely recommend this walk though if you enjoy walking and would still give it 5 stars!

This is a great walk, many different routes to suit all levels of fitness (walking and riding). The route from the train station is a steady climb up on a farm road. All routes are very well sign posted. You can go up the tower to see the stunning views. Dogs must be kept on a leads as livestock grazing around all surrounding areas.

Looks a mess covered in all kinds of graffiti, put there mostly from out of town folk who all seem to love peace, black lives, and manchester city for some reason. Awful. Makes it look disgusting. Well done fellow humans for ruining this.
