The northern end of the award winning Long Sands beach is a stunning stretch of golden sand, backed by low dunes.  In summer it is one of the most popular spots on the North East coast. People come from far and wide to build sand castles, sunbathe or splash about in the clean waters. It is also one of the areas best surfing beaches. The powerful waves here have made it a popular destination for surfing, and the national surfing championships have been held here. You can get your surfing lessons here and stop of for refreshments overlooking the beach at the surfers bar. Adjacent to the beach, on the other side of Grand Parade is Tynemouth Park, a family fun park, with a boating lake, crazy golf and themed children’s play areas.  The Blue Reef Aquarium, also nearby, has a good variety of interesting sea-life.  Whatever time of year you come here, there’ll be lots to keep children entertained.

Love this beach. Spotlessly clean. Great to see children and families out and about, even though it is Winter. Lots of people enjoying the fresh air. Try to get up here as much as possible. No gimmicks, no arcades, just a fantastic beach with the Priory at one end.

Loved the tynemouth beach. Its just beside a sanctuary where the tyne river meets the sea and gradually end up getting flown to The North Sea. The scenic beauty was too good and I think it was a great decision to visit this gorgeous place. Just beside the beach, there is tynemouth priory castle which is of historical and archaeological importance. There is also a light house, and the way to it is a great place to bring mental peace and acts as a tranquilizer.

Lovely long sandy beach popular with surfers; there is a surf school at the southern end. The incline is very slight so you have to go a long way out to get be out of your depth. There is a restaurant/caffe at both the north and south end of the beach, the one at the south end has lots of beach chairs out on the sand. As with Whitley Bay, the southern half of this beach is a no dog zone between May & September.

(Translated by Google) Short drive out of Newcastle and you will find a beautiful, wide beach with sufficient infrastructure. Only park or app parking, the British just as little as we Germans. Only cash at the car park at the top of the promenade and extra still somewhere bills have to change into coins. Could everything be so easy ...

I am in love with this beach. In my experience, THIS is the best and beautiful beach I have ever seen. This beach is so huge and large with full of sands. I love everything there, The sea and the rock in the beach. There is few higher big rock top which is the real fun. I climbed most of them at their top. It was so much fun. There was food shop availability near the beach and morrison too within 7 mins distance. So we Did not Have to worry for food and toilets. Many families come here for entertainment. They play in beach with their family members. Some of them come with their dogs and the dogs love playing with balls and with Their masters in beach. Some people and kids do surfing in sea. This is really awesome to enjoy. Most recommended beach to visit in holiday.

Todays visit to Longsands was for the children to try surfing. As ever the beach was stunning, we parked just outside of Tynemouth centre near the crescent and walked down. The beach is a great expanse to lounge, people watch, play, keep fit etc. It’s a really long shallow fall into the sea so it’s very safe. There are lifeguards available too depending on seasons and times. It looked stunning in the sunlight today.

(Translated by Google) Long Sands Beach Beautiful long beach and roaring sea with waves invite you to swim, water sports and long walks. The fine sand beach, which is pleasantly warm on these warm days, is a place of rest for many visitors. The water of the North Ocean that washes off the coast of England is cold, so there are not many bathing people in the sea. Today was a really hot day and the high wave that sprinkled me beautifully was quite pleasant. On the beach there are several showers in the adjacent area, a restaurant with a terrace with tables and chairs and a window where they sell delicious ice cream in a cup. Of course there is a clean toilet. (Original) Long Sands Beach Nádherná dlouhá pláž a hučící moře s vlnami lákají ke koupání, k vodním sportům a k dlouhým procházkám.

A beautiful beach, lovely flat golden sands. Great for children, families, couples.... well, anyone really. Lots of people had dogs. Only downside is the steep access to the beach if you have mobility issues. Parking is nearby which is £3 all day. There is a cafe/toilets at the beach. Great for amazing photos if you're a photographer.

Great place for walks with family and pets. I would say, however, that you can get nicer views either north or south of here. Finding a dead bird was surely unusual. While beaches are obviously beautiful, this one is just like any other. Unremarkable, though still nice.

Beautiful clean beach with really soft sand. Dogs are restricted in some areas so no nasty surprises, but they can still be walked in other parts so everyone catered for.

Very pretty beach, especially when you look at it during the sunset from the ledge just above the beach where you can see the whole beach. The sea is obviously freezing but can be refreshing on extremely hot days. During summer you can still get the sun as late at 20:00 in the evenings. It's also a very easy place to get to with the local metro station, and there are plenty of places to get food nearby

Wonderful beach with soft sand and great waves and surfing opportunities. Only down side is that the beach is dog restricted, with one side for dogs, and the other dogs are banned until Sept 30th. This is completely ignored, and people let their dogs run free across the whole beach. One of our party has an acute phobia of dogs, and we thought we'd be able to enjoy part of the beach without dogs, but this was not to be.
