👍👍 We visited Canalside Farm to take part in the pumpkin picking. What a fabulous evening we had. The selection of pumpkins was outstanding, with multiple fields full of them all shapes all sizes and even colours! We also had food in the cafe which was tasty and great value with lovely hot coffee too... People often mention cafe, staff, friendly, good, great, visit, cakes, shop, quality, visited,

We visited Canalside Farm to take part in the pumpkin picking. What a fabulous evening we had. The selection of pumpkins was outstanding, with multiple fields full of them all shapes all sizes and even colours! We also had food in the cafe which was tasty and great value with lovely hot coffee too just what you needed on a cool autumn evening. Definitely recommend for all ages to visit the pumpkin picking!

Very well stocked Farm Shop. Lots of local fruit, veg, cheese, beer , wine , cider, bakery products and loads more. Also has Cafe alongside the canal, with plenty of boats moored up. Nice place to stop off when in the area.

Friendly staff. Lunch was REALLY tasty. I had the chicken and pesto flatbread and my partner, the teriyaki beef flatbread. The coffee is also great. Really relaxing sat outside by the canal.

Love the food love the shop nice and fresh food but the cafe needs blinds as its very hard to see when eating food. But apart from that really nice food and grate staff.

Felt ‘ripped off’ having to pay £1 per person to pick your own strawberries. There is no justification for this, except ‘we can get away with it.’ Come on Canalside, you are better than this.

A lovely cafe with a friendly atmosphere. The portion size of the delicious pulled pork should have been double.

Excellent stopping off for lunch halfway between the Lakes and London. Well worth the short diversion. Highly recommended. Friendly staff and good quality food . Infinitely better than a motorway service station!

Stopped off to collect supplies for the canal boat and ended up spending two hours here! Kids loved the maze and we all enjoyed the cakes!

Shop excellent, plants stunning and good value, food in cafe very good but they stop taking breakfast orders at 11.45 on the dot and lunch orders start at 12 on the dot and if u want more than 2 fillings in one Staffordshire oat cake u have to order 2 oat cakes. They are not very flexible on the menu. Very enjoyable afternoon. Disabled access good mostly on the flat.

Lovely full English breakfast. Generous portion for £10. Great selection of cakes and pastries too. Dog friendly seating outside (under large gazebo cover). The shop is a revelation. Beautifully arranged, very well stocked with a massive range of fresh produce, pastries, artisan breads, Belgian chocolates…. The list goes on. Well worth a visit.

My partner & I have visited the canalside cafe on many occasions & each time we are never disappointed. The food is of exceptional quality, always cooked fresh to order. The lunch menu is varied but I have to recommend the canalside burger... absolutely delish!! We always leave feeling full.

The Canalside Farm Shop was well worth the visit. Lots of fresh produce and some amazingly tasty fresh baked cakes, buns and breads. They had a special were you could pick your own strawberries for a pound.

What an amazing place, something for everyone. We visited the shop which was fabulous but the market was definitely not to be beaten so many handmade goods and set out so beautifully. I am on the list to have a stall with my handmade dehydrated pet treats www.pawfectbakes.co.uk I cant wait. We also visited the cafe for lunch and the oatcakes were second to none. The organisation and car parking was spot on, so many car park attendants made parking a doddle. Thank you Anna and staff you are doing a great job. Jan at Pawfect Bakes.

What an amazing day! All the staff were super friendly and the lady offering face painting was lovely. Lots of props throughout the maize maze so great for taking photos. Huge selection of pumpkins and wheelbarrows available, will be going back very soon 😊

Met friends here for a great brunch - good choice inc veggie options. Dogs aren't allowed in main cafe but there is a separate food tent for those eating with dogs.

Staff were lovely and friendly and the perfectly ripe fruits go on for as far as the eye can see! People will moan about the £1 entry fee, but seriously..in a world with mounting costs I'm more than happy support quality farming and local business! Will be back when the maze is open ❤

Absolutely a pleasure to visit. You are served top class food and drink by staff that are genuinely pleased to see you in the Cafe. The Farm Shop stocks local produce of the highest quality as well as home baked breads and pastries. With an excellent Deli counter and Butchers, it makes the Shop well worth a visit. There are seasonal activities through the year with Strawberry picking and Pumpkin picking being very popular, regular Craft and Makers Markets throughout the year make for an interesting weekend visit.

Been here a few times for breakfast and lunch. The food is tasty and you get big portions but it is expensive for what it is, there can sometimes be a big queue out the door. Usually there is table free but always need wiping or clearing. I have sat outside alongside the canal which is slightly under the trees. I got pooed on twice and had to move the table and chairs three times to avoid the pigeons pooing on our food. I would suggest cutting the branches overhanging the table area so birds can’t perch above your head.

I visited for lunch in August 2023 on a Wednesday in a party of two. Very busy, but we were able to find a table in a few minutes and food arrived in good time. I've visited the cafe and shop many times before and come back because the food is nice and the cost good value for money. Today was no exception and we enjoyed what was on offer. Staff are also friendly and it's interesting to watch the open kitchen - the team is really small but they turn out loads of food in rapid time. It's impressive!

We have always loved coming here the staff are usually very friendly and the tea cakes amazing, however when we visited yesterday we were served at 11.28 and were told by a very officious lady at the till that we couldn't have tea cakes after 11.30 when my friend said it was 11.28 on her phone this lady said that by their clock it was 11.35 and we couldn't order tea cakes. The person behind us in the queue was told the same, sadly this was probably our last visit we'll go Shugborough and have tea cakes in their tea rooms instead. It is such a shame and all the other staff were as friendly as usual it's amazing how the attitude of one person can adversely affect the service.

We went to browse for some plants at the garden centre. It's not far from Shugborough Hall. You can do a walk from Shugborough Hall to the Candlside farm, or ride your bike. There is a map inside the cafe showing where you can walk and how long it takes. From a 20 minutes to 90 minutes, depending on which route you take. There a narrow boats that move up and down the canal. You can see some interesting boats and people. People take their dogs for a walk and are allowed to use the outside of the cafe to rest with there dogs. Guide and assistance dogs are allowed inside the cafe. We had a quick at the plants, but didn't find anything to buy We had lunch in the cafe, which wasn't busy considering it was a hot day. We both had pastrami, emmental cheese and red onion flatbread, with a salad. The salad was freshly done and wasn't droopy and dry unlike other places that serve a salad. We had green tea, apple juice and crisps. We also had a cake. I had a lemon drizzle cake and a cherry and almond slice. I have to say I definitely recommend the food here. The portions are substantial. I was going to have a hamburger, but saw it arrive at the next table. I would have struggled to eat it with the chunky chips it came with. The flatbread was nice and hot and tasted delicious. Both cakes were nice and moist, not dry at all. They had a range of cakes. Had to stop myself from buying a muffin. Well deserved a 5 ⭐

I could sit on the outdoor decking area with a latte all afternoon watching the world go by along the canal. The Belgian Buns are genuinely larger than the plates. You can pick up postcards that have walks printed on that begin from the cafe and help you to walk off the calories you have eaten!!

The queue was long and slow, but the service and the food were great. We had the soup, which today was leek and potato, and oatcake with sausage and cheese. Only criticism was that the cheesy fries were a bit of a letdown. The quality of the chips was very good, but the cheese was served in a big lump and melted on top, which resulted in a crust and big blob on top. Coffee was good quality. We also visited the farmshop and bought a few things back home. Great location and setting. Better on a hot summers day.

Nice farm house. Nice experience for strawberry picking. Not considering the entry fee and amount charged for strawberry, experience its self unique and relaxing. Spacious parking, canal side cafe and shop. Flower plants nursery. Shop having unique collection of items, gift items, vegetables and fruits, bakery items and more. Over all nice experience, my family enjoyed a lot.

Lovely place situated next to canal with friendly staff and good food in large quantities. Service is a shade slow due to its massive popularity. Nice design features on the indoors part of the restaurant in keeping with the location.

I have been a customer at the Farm shop for over twenty years. It has been a real delight to see this fantastic and thriving family run business grow and expand over the years. The fresh fruit and vegetable display is a sight for sore eyes as you enter the store and the quality of the local produce is just fantastic. The butchers are so knowledgeable and sell absolutely first class and high quality produce. You are spoiled for choice at the deli counter with an array of cheese, pies and now handmade chocolates to name but a few. Local crafts are available for sale and many wonderful weekends for you to enjoy throughout the year like pumpkin picking, pick your own strawberries and local markets and so much more. It’s easy to see why this is one of my very favourite destinations in Staffordshire and a very popular one. Its a fabulous place to explore on foot and on your bike. All of the staff are very friendly, professional and helpful. I would highly recommend!

Me and my friend sat at table 13 yesterday at 10.30 and had a fantastic english breakfast. The service was incredible as it was super busy the lady said it was a 30 minute wait but the breakfast came in 10 minutes instead which is even better. That was the best breakfast I had in a long time. We walked by the cannel as it was a beautiful sunny day in the countryside. I got an amazing raspberry ripple ice cream from the farm shop. Staff were friendly.

We shopped here when passing through on our narrowboat. The selection and quality of fresh food was excellent and reasonably priced. The service was friendly and helpful and we’ll definitely return.

Sadly the food was just so so, and very expensive considering. Tried a chicken halloumi burger and a pulled pork jacket potato, as well as coffees. All tasted very pub-Esque, yet had the price tag of a restaurant. Many dirty tables when we arrived, although these were slowly cleaned during our time there. A number of good walks starting from here though, and friendly staff!

Sadly we have had two awful breakfasts at canalside in the past month. The eggs are overcooked and covered in bacon and sausage bits, the sausages are also way overcooked and dry. It always used to be fantastic here but sadly that's our last visit after paying £22 for food I wouldn't accept at a cheap roadside diner. The staff here are lovely and helpful but it's the cooking and food that has been a massive let down.

Wonderful place to visit for a beautiful walk and great activity days for all the family. We love coming here each year for fruit picking! Bakery has so many delicious things we travel quiet a way, just to buy them. Definitely would recommend.
