Having only visited once, several years ago, I was super excited about returning. It is an expensive, luxury hotel and spa, so I was expecting to be wowed as I had been previously. Alas, the overall experience was merely OK, which is not great when you have spent so much money. I had booked a twin room with my sister but was given a double. The exact thing happened last time I stayed. Once we'd checked our booking to make sure we had booked a twin, we asked if the room could be made up as a twin. That was not possible so we had to move rooms. This was done for us whilst we were in the spa. The spa itself is great, although as it was such a wonderfully sunny day, we didn't use any of the facilities! The signature massage was fabulous. We had dinner in the Clocktower restaurant. It was very busy, but there were plenty of staff, none of which were particularly interested in us! The service was extremely slow. My starter of smoked salmon was beyond delicious, exactly what I'd been saving up for. But then the main was mediocre at best, and the dessert I chose was not available. We ordered a second jug of water, which never arrived. All in all, I was disappointed. Breakfast was equally underwhelming. Super small selection of cereal, no cheese or meat, fruit salad that tasted as if it had previously been frozen, and an English breakfast that cried out for some beans or moisture of some description. There were tonnes of little touches that I'd been expecting that just weren't there. Don't forget also, that everything has an added service charge, making it even more expensive. This is optional, and I crossed it off our dinner bill as we had not received good service. To give the hotel credit, when we checked out and said our stay had been 'OK', the lady on reception was interested in our comments. There hadn't been enough to actually make a formal complaint, but I explained that the overall experience had been disappointing. She removed all service charges and extras from our dinner, which I had not expected, and I thought it was a good gesture. She then offered us water as we were planning a walk around their fabulous grounds. I will be thinking of somewhere different for my birthday treat next year.

Had to assist work with an event here and I have to say this is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen or been to! I didn’t even get past the hotel but am hoping to return to use the spa and everything else 😃 beautiful interiors that were a bit different to what you’d expect but it all came together to create such a stunning visual. Plus the staff were fantastic, especially Amy and I can’t wait to visit on my own! Forgot to mention the delicious three course meal that has been my highlight of the last few work years and events- thanks!

Very mixed experience . I stayed for one night with a friend for a hen party celebration. The check in was good, the room was lovely. The staff friendly and attentive. Spa facilities are good but i was pouring with rain and very lacking in indoor seating unfortunately. Drinks are over incredibly over priced - ordered a non alcoholic cocktail and it was over £7. We had dinner in the clock tower which was delicious but side dishes are needed as portions very small for the price. My big problem with our stay unfortunately was the “optional” charges which get added to your bill and when we asked politely to have them removed we were met with the most passive aggressive member of staff trying to make us feel bad about having these “optional” charges removed. The charges totally about £35 and we have already spent over £200 each on the stay. I really think this is unacceptable. There is a cost of living crisis and so the fact we saved to even come and give you business should be enough. Perhaps if the owners/management increased staff wages they wouldn’t need to add these optional tips. Sadly wouldn’t return after this experience. If the member of staff had removed charges without the passive aggressive response I would maybe feel differently but ultimately optional charges shouldn’t be added. Check your bill before check out!

Beautiful spa hotel and golf course. We came as a family of 5 and had two lovely adjoining rooms. It was a works weekend away so we had wrist bands to access free food and drinks and a variety of activities throughout the day. The rooms are a good size, well equipped with everything you could need (except any herbal or decaffeinated drinks) and have very comfortable beds. Overall, we had a great time, can't fault this hotel other than for the pool which is very cold!! Not ideal for younger children and needs to be a few degrees warmer.

Superb service. Comfortable rooms. Tremendous wedding venue. Excellent food. Well staffed — and all very attentive to the customer and capable of adapting to unexpected and difficult situations. All the staff we met were attentive, responsive and keen to help. The venue proved excellent for us. Thank you.

Fabulous Rudding Park our top go to hotel for peace, relaxation and everything wonderful. Exceedingly good staff anywhere you venture in this beautiful hotel. Keen to please always and a big THANK YOU for accommodating our requests. No need to say, we will be back soon!

Absolutely perfect stay. We book a spa break for our wedding anniversary and we just couldn't have been happier. The spa is stunning, the hotel room was spotless and everything was to the highest standard. But what made the stay special was the staff, every single person we came into contact with went out of their way to be friendly and make you feel special. Such a treat, we'd love to go back.

We had a gift voucher for afternoon tea for my wife's birthday. The staff were attentive, friendly, warm and went beyond what we expected. For her birthday she got her champagne free, as well as a chocolate decorated happy birthday plate. They did speacil afternoon tea for our eight-year-old and made her feel so special. The service here made it worth every penny of what we paid. The food was plentiful and tasty, and even came with special Rudding take away boxes! Perfect afternoon.

Cannot fault anything about the room, hotel, spa and food but drinks are very expensive, a simple cocktail cost £16! I have deducted a star because I hate the "optional" service charge that is automatically added to every purchase. Staff will remove this charge when asked but it is embarrassing to look your server in the eye and tell them you don't want to pay it. If the owners paid a living wage they wouldn't need to guilt their guests into topping up staff wages. I did ask a member of staff if they received this tip and they said they don't get all of it! My advice is to charge all purchases, including service charges, to your room, then when you checkout ask reception staff to remove the service charges, this way means you don't have your stay ruined by telling your servers you don't want to tip them.

Kind and attentive service from the staff, just a wonderful experience overall. One minor complaint was that the ground floor men’s toilets were in a bad state - very unclean with a broken tap sensor. But that is easily fixable.

Just delicious. Menu had fantastic choice and everything we had was cooked to perfection. Gets very busy so worth booking. Wonderful atmosphere...not too smart, not too casual, and wonderfully friendly and funny staff. Only Downside is that we used a £200 voucher I got from work; they don't give 'change' for vouchers/let you use it on next visit. Worth noting!

I have been to the spa several times and loved it, this time decided to stay over as well. As part of our package we had dinner at Horto, Spa Access and breakfast at Clocktower. The room was fantastic as was the spa and both meals. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The only thing I'd change is that next time I want to stay 2 nights.

We had been given a gift of a champagne tea and went there two weeks ago. The service was impeccable and the venue really nice - a conservatory with beautiful views of the garden. The sandwiches (a choice of three different fillings) were delicious as were the cakes and scones. There is a menu of different leaf teas to suit all tastes and a choice of Taittinger champagne - either white or rose. It was a beautiful experience and we were offered a second helping of sandwiches and a box to take any uneaten cakes home. We would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

I have visited Rudding Park several times, it is a lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. On arrival we received a warm 'welcome back' and were treated well by Miguel, i felt really valued as a returning customer. Thank you. The spa is well maintained with different areas, so it never feels too crowded. The outdoor pool is a real treat, lovely and warm with a nice view into the grounds. The service charge that other reviews mention seems like something new which has been introduced. We didn't mind paying it as noticed a higher level of service to previous stays. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning back soon.

Rooftop spa was really amazing - clean and relaxing with several different ‘zones’ to experience. We loved the relaxation rooms as well where you can go to unwind. Food at the clocktower restaurant was also brilliant. Standard rooms were fine but nothing spectacular. Would have given 5 stars if they didn’t add the optional service charge onto everything. It can be taken off if you ask but most people probably wouldn’t to avoid the awkward encounter.

Absolutely love Rudding Park. It’s a fantastic place to totally relax. The heated spa pool is out of this world! The staff are absolutely wonderful.. ensure when you purchase a package you are very clear on what it encompasses. Rudding Park is so good, cannot wait to go there again and again!!!! If you have never been there, do yourself a favour and spend a proper relaxing time in the wonderful north.

We had our wedding here (October 2023) and it was just incredible. Not only is it a beautiful location, the staff go above and beyond at every opportunity. We were looked after so well by everyone without exception. Plus the food is amazing! Would highly recommend for weddings, overnight stay and the incredible spa! Thank you Team Rudding Park

Nice place but thoroughly disappointed with the lunch sandwiches I was provided at a function. There were 2 triangles of grated cheese on white bread.. No butter which made it so dry I couldn't eat it and the bread fell off the cheese. I asked for some mayo to help moisten it.. That took so long to come the bread was even drier so left it all. Very hungry over lunch 🤔

The drinks are very expensive and after paying the bill found out there was a service charge of over £1 for each drink, even our coffees . They never mentioned this to us on paying. They did ask if we wanted to pay a £5 gratuity for our treatments to which we refused but then you feel like a cheapskate . We had a really lovely day. Facilities , treatments and lunch great but marred by the extra charges

Stayed here several times and always had a fabulous time. Spa is excellent, probably the best we have been to. We stay dinner and bed and breakfast package, food is delicious. Impeccable service too, all staff are friendly and professional. Rooms are stunning.

I was lucky enough to have been gifted an afternoon champagne tea for my 70th birthday. I took my daughter along with me and had a truly wonderful time. The surroundings were beautiful and the staff magnificent. The afternoon tea itself could not have been bettered. Thank you to all concerned.

My first ever spa day and it exceeded my expectations. I would happily make it an annual event. All areas were relaxing. Staff happy and helpful. I honestly felt like I was on a mini holiday for the day. *****

We just had afternoon tea at the Clocktower Restaurant at Rudding Park and it was amazing. We were celebrating out daughter’s first birthday and the staff were brilliant, being extremely polite and attentive and just lovely. Special thanks to Cris who was keeping our daughter entertained towards the end of the meal. The food itself was very good, plentiful and tasty. We couldn’t recommend more highly.

Absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the spa lunch and Mud Rasul package. Were able to enjoy the whole spa and especially the roof top gardens and spa.The staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble, just wish we could have stayed for longer.

We use the clocktower a lot for meetings. The service is very good but that comes with a high price for everything. I've previously stayed over in the hotel and the rooms are very nice. The spa is also great. It's a good price for rooms off season but can be expensive during the busier times of year

Penny was an absolute star in helping sort our Afternoon Tea reservation for after our wedding! We're very thankful that she went above and beyond to accommodate our needs to get our party booked in despite it being in a different location than the Conservatory which is where the Afternoon Tea should be held (but was fully booked). Thank you, Penny, and we look forward to thanking you in person when we visit in September

Spent a night here just to get away and have a nice meal. The hotel has been refurbed in places and this is to a high standard and enhances the experience. The room was tastefully done and quiet, so very restful night. We upgraded to a Superior room with balcony. Had a meal in the main restaurant, excellent. The thing that really made this a 5 star experience was the staff, they were all excellent; friendly, professional, attentive and did what they said they would in a timely fashion. One negative was the price, plus £550 for one night and meals seamed expensive, but the food was excellent, so no complaints really. What a great team, Rudding Park management must be very proud. Well done all, will stay again.

Used for 80 delegates using the beautiful venue. Staff were very good, but needed a little chasing up to vacuum and stop drilling/making noise outside. Lunch was great, coffee and tea was plentiful, thought pastries and biscuits were very standard and thought they might have been made. Very good location and venue.

I love visiting Rudding Park as I used to visit the holiday park when I was younger and staying at the hotel was always something I wanted to do. The one thing that can be very hit and miss is the service you receive in the clocktower restaurant. It’s either great or very poor and the poor service tends to come from the senior colleagues. The girl who was part of the waiting staff was excellent, just bringing up general conversation but the gentleman who took our order could have at least put some effort into engaging with the party. Everywhere else in the hotel and grounds the staff are fantastic. We had a problem with the invoice at the end of the stay which was because of the evening meal (clock tower restaurant) where allowances were not deducted correctly and a total amount was generated that didn’t even equate to the bill total. It took two attempts to rectify (but at least it was sorted). The spa as always is a lovely place to go to and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Shout out to the fantastic housekeeping team as the rooms were very clean. I do want to keep coming back, but they need to get the service right in the clocktower so it is consistent because it’s not a cheap break. I will likely go back and I wouldn’t suggest that if you’re reading this that you shouldn’t go, it’s a lovely hotel and the facilities are fantastic, let’s hope service gets better as the staff can really have an impact on the perception of somewhere.

Went to a wedding our room was really nice. The drinks were very expensive. The wedding meal was excellent and so was the breakfast. We had a discounted room as we were part of the wedding party family but it was still £200 for one night.

A superb afternoon tea. Attentive staff but a very relaxed experience. Food was great quality and not too over facing like some afternoon teas. The setting in the clock tower is lovely too. Highly recommend.

This was our first stay back at Rudding Park after we had our wedding here in May and what can I say, we were treated like royalty! Ren, the lovely warm gentleman at check in was fantastic! He took us to our room and even gave us an upgrade. He was a breath of fresh air. We bumped into our wedding manager Joe who is so lovely it was nice to see him again he could not of been more welcoming. Our afternoon tea was served to us by Akef who is amazing and so accommodating. We had a fabulous dinner in the evening also and had some great non alcoholic cocktails made by Connor, who served at our wedding. He came to our room and handed us a congratulatory chocolate platter after we told him we were expecting. Such a great stay. The staff, the food, it just gets better each time.

Review: Rudding Park Hotel Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rudding Park Hotel exemplifies luxury hospitality at its finest. Despite the substantial price tag, it delivers a high-class experience, marked by superb service, exceptional amenities, and a serene location. Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted by a team of dedicated and professional staff, who extend their assistance for any need you might have, including carrying bags upon check-in and check-out. These gestures, while seemingly simple, underline the hotel's commitment to providing top-tier service and contribute significantly to a memorable stay. The rooms at Rudding Park, while comfortably equipped, might not seem extravagantly luxurious at first glance. They come with standard amenities like an electric kettle, a basic hairdryer, and a mini-bar stocked with tea, coffee, and milk. However, what the rooms might lack in extravagance, they make up for in comfort. One delightful feature is the 'pillow menu', offering different types of pillows to choose from, although we found the default selection to be perfectly satisfactory. Despite the somewhat basic rooms, it's the overall experience and the 'extras' that justify the price tag. The thoughtful parting gift of a bag of water upon check-out and the opportunity to choose from a pillow menu elevate the experience from a simple hotel stay to a luxurious retreat. One of the highlights of the hotel is the spa facility. It's beautifully designed, offering a variety of rooms and pools to relax and rejuvenate in. The inclusion of unique features like an oxygen room and a sunroom truly sets the spa experience at Rudding Park apart from others. In conclusion, while the cost of a stay at Rudding Park Hotel is undeniably steep, and the rooms themselves might seem a bit basic for the price, the exceptional service, thoughtful amenities, and the sublime spa facility make it a worthy consideration for those looking for a luxurious escape. This hotel delivers a comprehensive experience, proving that luxury is not just about plush interiors, but also about impeccable service and attention to detail.

Stunning place and facilities. The rooftop spa was outstanding, and the staff was superb. The cherry on top was the vegan options at dinner in the Clocktower restaurant. I'm slowly but surely making the transition, and the plant based choice was delicious for all 3 courses. Thanks for a memorable stay for our wedding anniversary. We'll be back soon.

Brilliant food, brilliant service with a fabulous country location. Lost one star as my sister in law booked the private room months in advance and it was cancelled few days before the event. Very unprofessional on that score. They did try to make sure that everything else is OK and it was a great event after all

I'm not a spa lover or a golfer, so I greeted this idea from my better half with some trepidation. I was wrong to. Where as Rudding Park is an opulent venue for both of those pastimes it also has a much wider range of services to cater to all pockets and tastes. We stayed in one of the lodges, equipped with Aircon, its own sauna and lovely views of the nearby pond. The family slipping into the hot tub for a nightcap before bed was a memory to savour. We had a great time here, the place is beautiful, the staff immaculate and attentive and we will for sure be back.
