The Storehouse held our wedding lunch after our local Quaker ceremony. We were delighted how well the place scrubs up at the back for events. The cafe produced loads of fresh scones, salads and great coffee for 55 guests. Doors were opened so that guests would feel more comfortable, as for many this was the first event that they had been to with lots of folks for months/year+. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff and volunteers who took time and effort to make our day so wonderful.

I rarely go for 5 stars, but this place absolutely deserves it. The vegan leek soup was so delicious that we had seconds. And the staff is so nice and welcoming. Definitely a place worthy visiting.

Stopped here back on 4th November for lunch. Penicuik Storehouse is part mini market selling lots of local produce with a cafe near the back of the store. The seating is a mix of informal couches, tables and breakfast tables, but there’s no theme or consistency to the decor. The extra Covid hygiene precautions are in place. All the staff wore face masks, there was a screen at the cafe counter, hand sanitisers around the cafe and tables were cleaned after each customer. I ordered a Cashew Cream Cheese and Cucumber Soda Bread, and a latte. The coffee was okay. The meal was excellent. The cream cheese went very well with the freshly sliced cucumbers and cashews. The soda bread was well toasted and mixed with the cream cheese, giving each bite a lovely feel as the bread soaked up the cream.

Lovely and inviting staff. The cheesecake is to die for, absolutely mouthwatering. The cappuccino is wonderful too. Highly recommend this place!

A lovely café on the High Street, it also sells second hand books, random items that one would find in a charity shop shelf, it also sells organic, locally produced food and honey. It has a dry foods and cleaning products filling station at the back. It is community run and the staff/volunteers just leave you be. I’m going to have to have a coffee there one day. RECOMMENDED

Great vegan options with ample seating space in a cosy and friendly corner of Penicuik. We’ll be back!

Very different, cafe/restaurant and gift and food store. Organic, homemade items. We had delicious scones with real homemade raspberry jam,2 pats of butter each, and pots of tea. Excellent value for 3 only £12.75p in all. Very nice volunteer staff.

Wonderful cafe, small (organic) supermarket and gift shop. Definitely check them out if you are in the area. It’s one of the hubs of this local community.

My goodness, it may sound like hyperbole but the staff there smell almost as bad as the out of comission "Fairtrade" avocados! Top marks for artisan liquorice but, WHEO! That visit was kind of a rough one on the ol' factory nerves, if you know what I mean... Ahh, what the hell give the place a shot - it's a damn spectacle of nature. Anybody remember that band Donovan from the 60s? That kind of smelly blanket vibe. Euugh. I love their toothpaste.

The Storehouse is a community owned and run shop and cafe. It supports local makers and suppliers such as Tweed Valley Venison. I has a lot of organic and plastic free items.

On Wednesdays they have a community meal and all they ask for is a donation. Honestly this place has a nice rustic feel, very vintage and you always feel very welcome, even as a stranger, you almost feel like part of the community regardless. Very nice food, lovely atmosphere and centrally located in Penicuik. 5 stars.

Great wee community store and cafe. Offers a wide selection of local produce and other goods that you wouldn't necessarily find in the big supermarkets. I have making trips out to the store just for their mayonnaise!. Shop also has other locally made gifts such as jewellery, soaps, cards etc. The scones from the cafe are amazing as is the bread. If you want bread I would advise going in early as it is very popular.

Excellent little cafe with good selection of cakes, veggie, vegan etc food. Really nice people and efficient service. Enjoyed my spiced pumpkin sponge. Only thing - PLEASE don't waste the napkin by putting an iced cake on it, thus rendering it useless!

Visited for the Christmas craft stalls. Beautiful space with lots of things to look at and purchase. Not just food, but a second hand book area and cafe as well as the craft tables. When I went there was a roaring fire and freshly made pastries just out of the oven. A really lovely place to visit.
