We loved this place. My husband and I came to visit Edinburgh but we wanted to stay somewhere a little out of the city that we could come to at night. This place was pleasant from start to finish. The hostess was amazing and her daughter was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous. They even let you play with all their animals and feed them as well. Anyone thinking to stay here absolutely should!

We were at Peggyslea Farm for the Clydesdale Horse experience not staying in the B & B. The experience was fantastic, Ailsa made the visit, very relaxed and informative, hands on with the horses, carriage rides were great getting the chance to direct the horse, additionally tea, coffee, lovely sandwiches and cake at the end. Then free to wander and visit the chickens, goats, pigs, donkeys and ponies. Everyone was so friendly especially Tyler and Mum not forgetting the lovely 3 boxers who are very much involved in the business. Location is lovely and sure the B & B would be just as good if staying there. Highly recommend a visit.

Perfect place to stay for Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. Great and friendly host with beautiful rural setting. Bedrooms are very spacey and furnished to a high standard. Excellent breakfast which is well presented to a high standard and sets you up for the day. Horses, dogs, hens, sheep, and wildlife in abundance, nature at it's best. Can't recommend this place or the accommodation enough. You won't be disappointed. Amanda Johnstone

My parents were travelling and happened to be staying here during Canadian Mother’s Day. I emailed Ailsa and asked if she could get a card and bouquet of flowers to surprise my Mom, and she was more than happy to help me out. Even though Canadian Mother’s Day is no where close to when it’s celebrated in Scotland, Ailsa found a wonderful card and flower and was able to help us send our love to our Mom from across the ocean. Can not say enough about how amazing this gesture was and how great Ailsa is for helping us surprise our Mom!

The host, Elsa, was fantastic. She was very accommodating and answered all my questions. I was able to visit the chickens and Clydesdale horses in the barn. I met the friendly horse handler as she was tending to the horse chores. Andrew the Clydesdale was my favorite.

A fabulous B & B. The room was immaculate, very comfortable and spacious. Annette and Ailsa are great hosts and made us feel really welcome. The breakfast was scrumptious. Lots of choice and the pancakes were as good as my mum's which is the ultimate accolade. We had been given a gift of their Clydesdale Experience which was wonderful. A unique and memorable way to spend a day. It was fascinating and so relaxing to spend time with these magnificent horses. On top of that Ailsa took us round all the other critters. Chooks, alpacas, donkeys, sheep, goats and ponies. Highly recommended.

Have stayed here a couple of times now, I live near Edinburgh and it is not far to travel from the city centre and yet you feel you are in the middle of nowhere it is so peaceful. Have taken two young grandkids and we all just love it, they especially love the dogs and the horses. Beautiful countryside location and very relaxed atmosphere where you can play with the dogs and feed the animals. The owners and Katrina are outstanding hosts and the whole place has a very laid back atmosphere. Breakfast is nice and the rooms are huge and spotless. Well done we will definitely be back (again)

It was our first time in Edinburgh and we decided to stay somewhere away from the city, and it was a good decision. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are really spacious and clean. We had our two years old daughter with us, and she enjoyed the morning walks around the farm to see all the animals. The 3 dogs there are also very children friendly. On our last day there, we were offered to feed the farm animal which was a great experience and a great memory to take back with us. But we do recommend to rent a car or have a car with you if you plan on staying there, as it will help a lot with traveling around. If we ever visit Edinburgh again we would definitely stay there again. and we highly recommend this place to anyone who's planning on staying away from the city and traveling with a car.

We booked to go see Santa here, it was our first visit and it was fantastic. The staff are exceptional. You are allocated a 1hr 30min slot and we spent that full time there. There is a lot of animals for the young ones to see and the Clydesdale horses are beautiful. All animals are super friendly and there is a lot of oppertunity to stroke, sit on and feed the animals. Santa was great and our little one was truly star struck with him. There is refreshments available at reasonable prices along with the face painting which is again reasonable. I would highly recommend this place. It's not too busy also, the people that own/run it seem to have it under control that your not walking into somewhere mobbed. Our little ones keeps asking when she can go back. Definitely worth the visit.

I stay in more hotels and B n Bs than I do in my own home. Mostly I'm not disappointed by any place, just Meh.. However, Baumhaus booked me into this BnB tonight and it is absolutely the nicest and best place I have ever stayed in. Immensely large rooms, beautifully decorated and designed, a true haven in the middle of nowhere. The owners are the best in the business and are genuinely interested in how you feel.

An absolutely beautiful spot & the owners couldn't have been more lovely and helpful. Really flexible with our arrival / departure and even gave us a lift to the wedding we were attending @ Newhall estate! Their Clydesdale horses are so impressive and the breakfast was fantastic. Could not have had a more perfect stay - thank you!

OMG! What a surprise! FANTASTIC!!! Competes with any 5* World Hotel! Spacious, well equipped rooms where everything works! Beautifully laid out with plenty of condiments and essentials. The bedding is to die for! Quality at its best! Must've cost a fortune? Yes, by far the best "b&b" I've ever stayed in and you won't be disappointed!

Biggest and cleanest rooms we've had on our trip. Our host is so friendly. They have beautiful Clydesdale horses, so it was fun to walk down and see them. Excellent referral for dinner at the local pub, best Sunday roast dinner I've had!! A+ all around!!

Exceptionally clean and spacious, and furnished to a very high standard. Staff were friendly and helpful, even when we arrived late in the evening. Breakfast was good, The location is very quiet, but conveniently close to a main route to Edinburgh. We would certainly stay here again if needing accommodation in this area.

Stayed for a couple of nights for Hogmanay 2020. Perfectly located for some great walks in the gorgeous Pentland hills and for venturing into Edinburgh. Well appointed rooms and being able to see chickens was like home away from home. Staff lovely and friendly but not in an intrusive way. Rooms are so well soundproofed you forget there are other people in the B&B. We took our own doggo but there are other gorgeous doggo’s on site should you need to give a belly rub or two. The staff are knowledgeable in the local area and even shared the best spots to be for midnight. Dark at night so take a torch if you’re venturing out. Delicious breakfast made fresh to order.
