We stayed at the beginning of December for my cousins wedding. Before our stay I had questions around check in times, and the possibility of leaving our bags if we travelled on the day of the wedding. Harro & Lucy were incredibly helpful and accommodating for us. Eventually we decided to stay another evening, and I'm so happy we did. The breakfasts are amazing, I'd have stayed another night just for the pancakes if we could! The rooms were clean and fresh, teas and coffees had fresh milk in the room and nothing was too much trouble. We'd definitely recommend staying here - Thank you !

I don't usually write reviews but, we really enjoyed our stay at The Hive. Harro & Lucy are naturals at hosting a b&b. The room was spotless, the breakfasts were delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We definitely recommend staying at The Hive to anyone.

Excellent is the only way I can describe it. Bright attractive room well furnished. A lot if thought put in to details. Even phone charging points. The on suite shower room had lots of surfaces for your wash things. And very friendly hosts.

I could not fault any part of my stay here. I booked this as a base for my business meeting the following day. I received a warm welcome from Harro upon my arrival. The bedroom was very clean and a good size with a very comfortable bed. The en suite was also nice and clean and had a good shower. My breakfast next morning was lovely and Harro went out of his way to ensure I got away on time for my meeting. It is a perfect base for exploring the area or using as a base for meetings in that area. There is a lovely pub serving good value food a couple of minutes walk up the road. I had a relaxing, comfortable and quiet stay here and would highly recommend it. I'll certainly be back when I have business in that area.

Had a fabulous time, Myself and partner are in wheelchairs and they purchased a ramp for easy access into the B&B. The proprietors went above and beyond our expectations. Fabulous breakfasts and really comfortable bed. Definitely home from home.

It was all perfect. Very clean, great size room, great modern shower room. Perfect breakfast and host. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Couldn't believe what great value for money it is. Pub within a couple of minutes walk for food.

Lovely rooms, clean and spacious. Not the place for you if you dislike bees, but otherwise very homely and stylishly decorated. Very much enjoyed being able to set the world to rights with Harro over a tasty breakfast. One thing the website forgets to mention is that towels are provided, so no need to bring your own. The one tiny thing that could be improved would be to add some decaf tea and coffee options, otherwise a perfect trip.

A delightful and friendly stop for the night. Spacious and homely room that was well presented, maintained and reassuringly clean. Run by welcoming hosts who lay on a good breakfast and there is a pub within a few mins walk where you can get an evening meal

We chose the Hive, because it is close to family we were visiting. It turned out to be an excellent choice for other reasons as well. Our en-suite room was comfortable, clean, and well equiped. The breakfasts were superb; freshly cooked to order by the hotel owner, who went out of his way to be friendly and helpful throughout our stay. I have no hesitation in recommending the Hive to anyone seeking first class accommodation which comes with a personal touch.

I am a frequent visitor to The Hive at 52. Mainly as a business stay but I have also stayed with my wife and young child. Each time the service has been warm, welcoming and thoroughly top notch. The rooms are elegant, tasteful, unfaltering in their standard of cleanliness and always comfortable. Harro and Lucy are natural hosts who are genuinely willing to go above and beyond : late check in’s and terribly early breakfasts have always been happily accommodated. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else locally and I thoroughly recommend them - they are the bees knees of B&B’s.

The Hive at 52 offers a warm welcome with immaculately presented comfortable rooms. Lucy and Harro are great hosts, and I felt immediately at home. My room had everything I could want (tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, a cafetiere...) along with a spacious bathroom. There was a wide choice at breakfast (great porridge) too - I look forward to staying again next time I'm in the area.

This is the best B & B we have stayed in. Harro was very welcoming and friendly. There was a small issue over which room we were to be in but this was resolved to our total satisfaction very quickly. In all organisations things can be less than perfect but you judge them on how they respond and in this case it was excellent. The welcome tray was very good as was the breakfast. The room we were in was Bee Happy which has an excellent walk-in shower. The décor in the room and bathroom was attractive and everything was very clean. It was just a short walk to The Hanging Gate where we a had a good dinner and if you show your room key you get a 25% discount – we did! If we are in this area again in the future there is no doubt where we will be staying – it is at the Hive at 52!

Pre-Covid, we booked a couple of rooms at the Hive for 4 young adult godchildren. Their parents and sister were staying in our home, but we decided the four boys were just too old now for sleeping bags on our living room floor. We want to stay friends with them as they head out into the adult world of work and start building their own families! Harro was absolutely amazing as a host with the three youngsters and their twenty something eldest brother, providing that perfect balance between being serious and fun. The two rooms were stunning, and the lads really appreciated the luxury! When they joined us for the next day's activities at our home, they couldn't resist telling us how awesome their breakfast had been! I think they tried to eat enough to keep them going for the next few days! The image below is a piece of art I produced of this beautiful period B&B, with all modern comforts.

It was a real pleasure staying and finishing our vacation at The Hive. Harro was super helpful and it was really fun chatting with him! Hope to be back in this wonderful BnB with great rooms and amazing breakfast! The place is really well furnished, super tidy, really close to a lot of wonderful places and also Manchester airport. Love it!

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and that nothing was too much trouble. The room was spacious, light and airy with everything we needed. The breakfasts were delicious and huge always served hot. Another lovely touch was the packet of wild flower seeds for us to take away and scatter hopefully giving us a show of flowers to always remind us of our stay at The Hive. Thank you Harro and Lucy and we look forward to staying with you again.

What a gorgeous gem we found and booked direct with the owners Harro and Lucy.! The lovely warm welcome you get at arrival is amazing. We’ve stayed for one night in ‘Bee Cosy room’ at ‘The Hive at 52 B&B’ and what a bright and spotlessly clean room with a very comfortable super-king bed which can be converted into two single beds with high end quality soft crisp white linen. A lovely tray with tea and coffee for us to make was also in the room. Everything you need is provided in the bathroom. The room is indeed cosy and we had a really good night sleep. Breakfast arrangements are so well organized as the menu was ready for us to select and submit our choice on an online form in advance which was very impressive and beautifully served in the ground floor dining room. The location was ideal for us. We very much appreciated Harro’s recommendation for us to choose where to eat out. Highly recommend booking your stay at this stunning place. Many thanks to Harro and Lucy for making our stay a memorable one. We will definitely be back. Hadeel & Mark

My wife & I stayed here for 2 nights in July '22 as a base to attend a wedding at Hartford Golf Club. The hive is an imposing 'old villa' in Weaverham, just across from a great pub The Hanging Gate that has a large outside space and with a play area for younger ones. We ate there and enjoyed a genuine 20% disccount upon presentation of our Hive key fob. Great! Parking onsite and within dead easy walking distance of the little village that features an Indian as well as a Thai restaurant and another pub as well as a CO OP shop. Our en-suite room was large, really comfy, spotlessly clean and perfectly equipped. An iron and board are readily available. Our host Harrow was so friendly, informal, chatty and good fun. Top fella!! We had breakfast twice, served until 09:30 and my "Big Bee" full breakfast was indeed big and brilliant. Hearty and delicious! I wholeheheartedly reccommend The Hive at 52. It is top notch and is what the best B & B accommodation is all about. An absolute pleasure and we are really grateful for the excellent value hospitality. Paul & Joanne.

I was looking forward to arriving at the Hive@52 after a business trip and an awkward drive across country. Delighted to bee (sorry!) allocated the room "bee cosy", with a large bath and comprehensive utilities tray. Very warm welcome and full explanation about local eateries. Firm pillows were very welcome and I was quickly able to relax in the family home atmosphere. The focus on encouraging pollinators throughout the stay was another very welcome theme for me, with the wildflowers in the front lawn and around the various flower beds approaching full bloom when I stayed. It was very soothing to be able to listen to the soft humming of the bees as they went about their evening and morning business. The breakfast was very high quality and extremely welcome after a few tough days. Would not hesitate to recommend this B&B and would look forward to coming again should the chance arise. Just a point of note, the steps up to my room bee cosy were steep; no issue ata ll for me, but worth bearing in mind for anyone with limited mobility. this should not detract from (at least) enquiring at The Hive@52, in my opinion. Thank you very much indeed. I really enjoyed my stay.

My auntie, uncle and nearly 90 year old friend have all stayed here when visiting us. Harro looks after everyone so well. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, really comfy and incredibly clean. Everything is thought of so you don’t have to. Breakfast made to order with a great range of options.

Second stay here. This time I stayed in a large, bright double room on the first floor with modern en-suite shower room. Spotlessly clean, well-equipped (including proper coffee on the hospitality tray), great service and fab breakfasts from Harro. My room was called Bee Happy. I was!

Great stay at the hive. Our room was a really good size, super comfortable and clean. The hosts were great and the whole thing felt very personal and homely. Great choice at breakfast and free parking. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

A very warm welcome was given by Harro at the Hive. It was a lovely bedroom with a large comfy bed and a spotless and large ensuite. Breakfast was fantastic and the location is very handy. Highly recommended!

Clean warm quiet spacious room, big comfy bed, large bathroom with walk-in shower (no bath). Bee themed. Lots of attention to detail. Great cooked breakfast, lovely owners. 😊

Absolutely perfect. Lovely room with a lot of space and a very modern and sleek looking bathroom. Everything spotless clean and a warm welcome and goodbye from Harro. The best b and b we've stayed in so far and will definitely be booking again when staying around Northwich or Weaverham. Lots of takeaway options in the area to add. Overall had a lovely 3 nights stay with no faults whatsoever. Definitely recommend to anyone! Thanks Harro!

Fantastic bed and breakfast. Was given a warm welcome by Harro the host. We stayed for 3 nights and were really looking to Harro’s full English that is so hyped up in these reviews. Unfortunately after checking us in and discussing the breakfast on the first night we were unable to get hold of Harro. Even calling him at 08:30 as the time he said breakfast would be ready but no avail. The room has all the facilities needed including tea and coffee with fresh milk provided daily. Hair dryer and iron also available. There is a pub across the road called ‘the hanging gate’ which will give a 25% discount to guests of the B&B, excellent. Overall, I would still give the hive 5 stars. It is a shame that we did not get to try the breakfast.

We stayed one night here for a wedding at nearby Nunsmere Hall and really enjoyed our stay. We were met with a very friendly welcome by Harro and showed to our room. The hotel is very picturesque in a beautiful setting and has a lot of character. Our room was very well furnished and comfortable. Nothing was left out. I particularly liked the attention to the tea/coffee making facilities. In most B&Bs and hotels you get a few coffee sachets and those useless milk cartons which you need 3 of just to make your coffee change colour. Here though there was a cafetière with ground coffee in a kilner jar and the milk was in a vacuum flask. Brilliant idea and, loving my coffee, made my stay even better. The room was furnished to a high standard, the bed was very comfortable, there was loads of storage and the shower was lovely. To be honest I wanted to stay there enjoying the room, drinking coffee, watching TV and not go to the wedding. Next morning we had breakfast and what a feast! Excellent food and really set us up for the rest of the day. Didn’t eat again until evening. Really enjoyed chatting to Harro about all sorts of topics and what a friendly atmosphere. We’ll definitely look to book again when we go back that way to visit Delamere Forest. Wouldn’t look at anywhere else until we’ve tried to get in The Hive.

I had an enjoyable stay of two nights at the Hive and enjoyed the clean room and comfortable bed. It was restful (despite some traffic noise) and close to local amenities like a Coop and Tesco. I was glad of Harro's suggestion that I walk over to the local pub to eat. Otherwise there are quite a few shops in the village and two town trails if you want a walk. I would certainly recommend it as a place to stay. The coffee is good and it was a real treat to find hot chocolate that was not overloaded with sugar. Thank you Harro and Lucy
