Lovely
waterside
location
in
an
historic
building
for
a
celebration
family
lunch.
The
restaurant
is
airy
and
even
when
full
(which
it
was
on
the
day
of
our
visit)
it
did
not
feel
cramped.
Definitely
book
as
this
is
a
very
popular
restaurant
and
unlike
many
in
Whitstable
-
open
on
a
Monday.
Staff
were
very
well
informed
regarding
the
menu
and
provided
friendly
and
attentive
service.
Good
menu
with
a
good
variety
of
shellfish
and
fish
options
(menu
is
seasonal
and
changes
regularly)
Loved
trying
the
Natural
Oysters,
so
different
to
the
Rock
Oysters,
scallops
(both
chargrilled
and
pan
fried)
were
beautifully
cooked
the
baked
three
cheese
crab
gratin
with
toast
was
delicious
as
were
the
plump
mussels
cooked
in
local
cider.
Most
of
us
had
fish
for
the
main
course.
My
only
comment
would
be
the
baked
haddock
fillet
with
sour
cream,
swiss
cheese
&
chives
was
a
touch
overcooked
and
sadly
the
new
potatoes
were
so
hard
they
were
inedible.
The
whole
sea
bream
was
well
cooked
and
as
per
the
menu
loaded
with
garlic,
and
this
that
had
the
Lemon
Sole
really
enjoyed
it.
We
seemed
to
over
order
on
the
chips,
you
can
probably
made
do
with
one
between
two.
We
also
tried
a
local
sparkling
wine
-
Gusbourne
Brut
Reserve
from
Appledore,
Kent,
delicious
and
zesty.
A
lovely
way
to
spend
a
day
with
family
on
our
first
trip
to
Whistable.
