I really don't see what the fuss is about this place. I ordered small chips fish and peas tonight and they were average at best. The fish was soggy and not at all crisp the chips, even though fresh out of the frier were pretty soggy too. And the peas were something else. All lurid green. Now we all know mushy peas are a grey/ green colour so these must have had food colouring added, I just wonder why? They were also not seasoned and tasted very very bland. Disappointing. There are other great chip shops in Burton just not this one.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to George for going out of his way to get the matter sorted. The quality of food was amazing and hot. It was freshly prepared for my arrival. Can not fault george. Would definitely be going again. I would also recommend going before 8.45 before everything runs out.

Came to visit with my colleague and our service user. The staff was absolutely amazing- great service. We even forgot our receipt and the man at the till was lovely and re-printed it for me. Thanks- The food was also 10/10 delicious chippy for this weather🙌 will come back for sure

Just had cod and chips from here and it was very good. Will definately return. Only downside.....the large curry sauce wasnt large enough. Next time ill buy 2!

We ordered online through deliveroo. Food arrived lovely warm and the battered fish was still crispy. Small portions worked for us: four small chips + one large box of chips to share. Mushy peas were tasty too. Will order again when in the area!

Has always been great food and great customer service, but recently the portion of chips is getting smaller and smaller even when ordering a large there were hardly any chips! Served by the blonde lady the last couple of times so I don’t know if this is just how she gives it. Please go back to giving good portions

By far one of the best chip shops in the midlands....definitely the best in Burton. The staff here are and have always been quick to serve, friendly and will go above and beyond. Excellent

Friendly service and large portions. Mixed kebab was lovely and hot and tastes fresh, the chips are always on point and the staff always greet you with a welcome and a smile. One of the best chippys in Burton.

Heard lots of good things about this food outlet, so decided to give it a try. Was not disappointed, chips and curry sauce were delicious and not greasy. The cod however....my goodness...do not order the large one unless you are absolutely starving and havent eaten for days! It was huge!!! Was very nice though. I will be ordering the fish bites next time, which i have heard good reviews about too. Staff very friendly and kept me updated with the wait time on my order. The coat was more than what i would usually spend on fish and chips, however, the large cod was £12.50 each and it could easily have fed 2 adults, so i didnt need to order 1 each....but i will know for next time!

We've tried a lot of chip shops in the area for Friday treat night, non compare to Wetmore Chippy! The service is second to non, the staff are always smiling, super friendly and welcoming. The food is freshly cooked and to a very high standard...just absolutely delicious. If like us you're not keen on greasy food your in the right place! I'd highly recommend to all 5* for sure!!🐟

For a long time I've been one of the naysayers on this place; I liked what I liked and there was no such thing as "best" unless you're trying them all. Even as a massively fat ****er, even I haven't tried all the chippies in Burton. But when my usual place in Swadlincote went downhill, I needed something new for red meat chicken kebab. This place more than replaced it. Price, amount you get... it's so much better.

Clean, friendly efficient service. Welcoming atmosphere. High quality food.

Haven't been here I a long time. but OMG the fish and chip where truly Fantastic. Big fish and loads of chips. Even the pie was really good Will be back again for more as a treat.

Have used this chippy before food very nice but today got home and there are loads of batter bits in.with the chips which some people like which I do not so put me off as had to separate chips from batter

Disgusting liars of staff Passing of 20 minute old haddock as cod... They just wanted to get rid of the pile of haddock that had been sitting there. The staff member asked me twice if I wanted haddock I said no I want cod. Staff member said in a annoyed tone you'll have to wait 15 mins I didn't mind waiting. I then noticed after 15 mins they dished up mine which was suppose to be out the fryer and I said are you sure that's cod and again they lied.. Got it home and it was the haddock that had been sitting for ages. To take it back would of took more time.. Horrible horrible people and liars I was so looking forward to it as it had good reviews.. Won't be going again..

One of burtons better fish and chip shops. The chips are delicious as is the battered sausage. The fish is good however it is hit and miss sometimes it is perfect and other times the batter can be soggy. I would definitely recommend going. The price is higher than other places in burton but overall it is worth it.
