Lovely French Patisserie just by the river in Shoreham. I was told that the chief gets up at 4am to bake and make food to ensure everything is fresh for the day. It's just by the end of the foot bridge over the estuary and only a short walk to the beach. Highly recommended! Not open on Sundays (bit of a shame).

Great coffee, loaves, baguettes, quiches, and almond croissants with a superb choice of filled mini baguettes, pastries and cakes. Always beautifully presented and a very friendlt hardworking family supported by local staff. Best location in Shoreham-by-Sea.

The cake selection here is second to none in Shoreham.. You can't walk inside without buying something. Poke your head inside and take a look at the display its quite something.. Lovely contemporary selection. Also I go here for coffee and pastries. The coffee is well made and probably the cheapest in town. The do only do soya on the dairy free side but its still good. Friendly team and they work hard to keep the queue down.

We have walked past this patisserie many times when visiting Shoreham and decided to pop in early morning. We were not disappointed by the coffee or delicious croissants on offer. The proprietor and staff are charming. It's understandably busy as it is in a prime location near the High Street, however if you can get a table it is well worth a visit.

I buy the Ficille stick bread every week to freeze and reheat. I have problems with most bread but this is the best bread outside France.

My favourite bakery! ❤ The kids love a pain au chocolat, whilst I enjoy the nicest coffee in the area, we always collect a baguette for lunch and the cakes are amazing!

Love it! Delicious coffee and simply amazing food - we had a chicken & bacon sandwich and a spinach & mushroom one and they were just perfect. They also have a big variety of freshly baked bread. Must try!

Fantastic patisserie in the French style. Cakes and pastries beautifully presented. Great range of artisanal breads including sour dough and rye breads. Lovely sandwiches. Seats inside and out. Coffee machines. Nice corner location overlooking the river in Shoreham high street in the pedestrianised part. My wife and I had a lovely coffee and shared an almond croissant. There this morning!

We’re regular customers as the food is always fresh and delicious, the staff are friendly and helpful, the cafe is very clean and the location is a great place to watch the world go by. A new cafe has opened nearby which is nice enough, but having tried it, I’m very happy to stick with the patisserie!

Finally found the Flan Nature. I was beginning to suspect it was just a ruse…. Madame kept telling me that they had had Flan Nature earlier in the morning, but had run out. But today was the day. It is perfect. The best Flan Nature I have ever had in UK. Merci Madame, à bientôt

Lovely little patisserie reminiscent of a traditional French bakery with some of the familiar / favourite cakes that are available! Entrance to the shop feels a little chaotic and could be organised a little differently however the service, cakes and coffee are amazing. I will definitely go back to try some of the other goodies.

Cakes are truly amazing, coffee a little on the strong side, although this is not a grumble, just letting you know if you don't like your coffee on the strong side, ask for fewer shots. Highly recommended.

We came here for snacks for a get together/picnic. It seems to be a favourite amongst the locals - we saw the place always with a queue. We got a selection of bites. 2x Sausage roll and 2x veggie rolls 2x quiche, flan, chocolate tart. £30 ish. The service was ok. They made sure to double check what was being packed before ringing up at the till - which I thought was good. The packaging was ok.

The food is nice enough but there are no toilet facilities, no WiFi password and very slow and unapologetic on service. Dogs are unwelcome, unlike all the other cafes on the same road, who also offer WiFi and toilet facilities. ——————————————— Helene, thank you for your response. As it wasn’t you I asked about using the toilet, I’m not sure how you simply come to the conclusion that I didn’t ask at all and patronise me as if I didn’t (I did). I’m aware many businesses have staffing shortages right now, which is why I didn’t chase my coffee after waiting almost 15 minutes yesterday. I was a little disappointed to not have my wait acknowledged, after all a light apology costs you nothing and shows a level of respect for your customers. The other bustling (dog friendly, WiFi providing) cafes on your strip, which I also frequent, are still polite and friendly - indeed I highly recommend Ginger and Dobbs and the new Toast on a regular basis. It’s a cheap shot to imply I was grumpy - as if this would explain a less than five star review. In actual fact, I was super friendly, polite and patient. I didn’t even given a bad review to be on the receiving end of your passive aggression - you still got three stars! Only reduced to two now due to your untruthful and unwarranted response. As for your nanny style attempt to belittle me for requesting WiFi - perhaps try keeping up with the times. You don’t know why I needed WiFi in that moment, yet you’ve made an assumption that I didn’t need it. Whilst you are not obliged to offer it, it is reasonable to expect it from a cafe in 2022, (particularly when said cafe expects you to wait for longer than the norm for a coffee). Lastly, you overlook the fact that dog owners cannot use your cafe if they are alone with their dogs, because you don’t allow them in to simply place an order and you’ve refused to let them place an order and pay at the door. You can facilitate this (I’ve done it with you through the pandemic), you choose not to. This is, of course, your prerogative, but please do not try to make out that having outdoor seating classes you as ‘dog friendly’. You have outdoor seating to bring in more business. If there are groups where some have dogs, the others can go in and order on their behalf. You can’t stop dogs from sitting outside on the pavement - that is all. I have first hand experience in this. Just as I do of being refused toilet access. I have continued to use your cafe for many years, without complaint, in spite of these experiences and have supported you through social media. The same would have been the case after being refused WiFi access on this last visit. What prompted me to give an informative review and less stars than I’ve given you in the past, was your disappointing attitude to such a long wait for a coffee, followed by a very blunt response to my polite WiFi request. You write as though all customers should automatically understand that you’re busy and don’t want to provide WiFi while they wait - unapologetically. It’s pretty arrogant. ————————————————— All your second reply tells me is that you don’t know what goes on under your nose. I once walked in to order a cappuccino with my small and well behaved dog and was told he would have to wait outside. Knowing I cannot do this, I simply went to the much friendlier Tom Foolery. But when I needed some macarons, my dog was with me. You were quiet, so I opened the door, explained to the staff that my dog couldn’t be left outside, could I purchase at the door instead - the reply was a straight ‘no, sorry’. On another occasion, my, then 10yr old, needed the toilet whilst we were having lunch. Your staff member told us that there were no customer facilities. He had to run to the Tap House, who graciously allowed him to use theirs. In parts of your cafe particularly, the data signal is very poor. So I would strongly recommend that people use some of the other great cafes in the area if they want to use their devices whilst in the cafe. They offer WiFi and are polite.

This is my new place of morning coffee delight. I like my coffee. I like cycling before work. I like to use the ride as an excuse to have a naughty treat. I’m so glad I found La Patisserie this year. The service is great, I’ve never had a bad experience and I’m awkward with oatmilk so I’m patient and clear. The coffee is my favourite in the south coast. The lovely French lady who makes the coffees is not only enchanting, but also superb at getting the mix of milk, coffee and vanilla spot on. Then there’s the food that’s on offer - oh my..! It’s the most tantalising selection I’ve ever seen, and whoever bakes the almond bites and the other amazing cakes really knows what they are doing. I don’t care what prices are listed, I come for the best coffee and the best cake in the south and am never disappointed. The staff are always polite and friendly, and I wish I spoke better French to give them a better experience from me! Love this place. Love the atmosphere. Love the coffee and the food. I am so utterly glad it opens at 7.30 so I can ride 10 miles to get my breakfast and get back in time for work. Thank you, to the best morning experience I’ve found x

We travel down from Horsham regularly for a walk on the beach followed by a coffee and some food here. We are constantly impressed by the quality and delicious offerings. We have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful and swift to clear and clean tables, which is rare these days.

Great service from an extremely young service crew. Please teach your staff how to make coffee and serve customers, I just had a cappuccino that was so hot it burnt my lips and mouth I asked for it to be remade at the correct temperature which was then slammed on the table by scowling teenager. Otherwise happy.

Almost ruined my birthday today. I came to Shoreham for a sweet birthday treat, with the children, since it wasn’t our first time at La Patisserie. Unfortunately the service is appalling, even if the products are good (however, compared to a standard patisserie in France, I would say average quality). After waiting 10 minutes to get a table (which is also very small, so insufficient and uncomfortable for 3 people having drinks and food…), the wait for the coffees was also long…we had to bring back the empty plates ourselves to make some space at the table. But our brunch alfresco was abruptly ended when I had to accompany my kid to the toilette and left the bag and half full coffee mug at the table. The owner lady had cleared the table and handed the bag to my daughter, so when I returned, there was no coffee or free table left. Disappointing attitude.

We only had a coffee, but the freshly made and filled Baguettes , variety of Pastries and Cakes are made on the premises. You can see the clean happy busy kitchen and the amazing cooks making and baking. Counter staff are cheerful and the place was spotless and comfortable with plenty of seating outside in the Piazza.

I have been visiting the patisserie for many years and can say that it’s one of the best places in Shoreham. The location is superb, next to the river Adur and Shoreham beach. The food served is outstanding from freshly made sandwiches, baguettes and cakes. And the service behind the counter is always friendly and ready to help with a kind smile on their faces. Cannot wait to be there soon :-)

Granted, we were not expecting to find such an authentic French bakery in Shoreham-by-Sea, but even without the element of surprise, it was really such a delight to enjoy the produce from La Patisserie. We ordered a (to die for) chocolate cake for a family birthday which was ready to collect and an absolute treat, and just couldn’t resist buying a loaf of bread and some sausage rolls while we were there picking it up. All superb, will be heading back. Maintaining UK social distancing rules very satisfactorily.
