😠 The actual service I received was good, but don't trust them at all. I'm on benefits and was made to go private because my own doctor missed diagnosing me with diabetes and fibromyalgia. I was told blood tests would cost £130 only by the doctor but when I got the bill it was £560 that I had to pay.... People often mention staff, surgery, care, hospital, great, Spire, team, amazing, looked, nurses,

The actual service I received was good, but don't trust them at all. I'm on benefits and was made to go private because my own doctor missed diagnosing me with diabetes and fibromyalgia. I was told blood tests would cost £130 only by the doctor but when I got the bill it was £560 that I had to pay. They lied saying I had, had two blood tests which I was charged for. The first time they couldn't take my bloods so how is this my fault? Yet, I got charged for it. They are disgusting and I won't ever use them again.

Best care ever! I’ve had several surgeries in the past 5 years privately but never been to Spire Blackpool before. As an ex Nursing Sister myself I was very impressed with the care I was given. Other hospitals seemed short staffed, and took ages if I called the bell. From the lady that showed me to my room, the nursing staff, Surgeon and Anaesthetist were amazing and explained everything in detail. Observations were done on time and I didn’t need to call at all except when I wanted a cup of tea! (Kitchen staff lovely and so helpful) My allocated nurse Valerie was great and the other staff were wonderful too. Pain medication was offered proactively before previous had worn off which was much appreciated The hospital seemed clean and very well organised. In the past I have had to wait for Pharmacy or discharge letter but these arrived without me asking. Thanks everyone for looking after me.

I recently had private surgery here and received outstanding care and results. I was treated like royalty from start to finish and would highly recommend. Mr Ali in particular is a genius and safe hands to put yourself in ...10/10 from me ❤️

I was in Spire Fylde Coast Hospital only 3 days ago for a hip replacement operation. What an amazing Hospital, I could not fault it. All the staff were exceptional. Care couldn't be better. You felt at ease at all times and everyone couldn't do enough for you. Food was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this Hospital.

I had been to my GP twice in the last three years to tell them my concerns regarding some moles I had and that I wanted to see a dermatologist. My GPs looked at them and refused to refer me saying they were fine. I knew they were wrong so I paid privately to see a dermatologist at Spire Hospital. I am so glad I did. I saw the most amazing dermatologist, Dr Arif Aslam. I thought he would just be looking at the moles that concerned me for the £200 fee, however he examined my entire body. Head to toe. He looked at all my moles and told me what they were, whether I should watch them and what he thought about them. Due to being light skinned and having over 250 moles I am high risk for melanoma so he said I should have an annual full body check with him going forward. Sadly, Dr Aslam thought one of the moles that had been of concern to me for years was melanoma and I'm now going through the cancer biopsy procedure to find out what stage it is. Thank goodness I went private and followed my instinct. If you have concerns go private. Don't blindly trust your GP's opinion. Trust yourself.

Went in for acl reconstruction via the NHS and honestly what a fantastic place from start to finish. Firstly Dorothy who was my nurse on arrival and absolutely wonderful in making me feel calm and relaxed pre op. From this point sadly name's are foggy but huge thank you the surgery team headed by Mr Javed and the nurses post op who ensured I was comfortable and looked after. Also shout out for the kitchen staff for the fantastic food.

I had keyhole surgery to remove my gallbladder yesterday and if I could give 6 stars i would. My husband died in January and i was very anxious and emotional about the operation. I was dealt with so sensitively and looked after so well by all the staff i just want them all to know how much it meant to me. The standard of care was superb from everybody, with a special call out to the nurse who looked after me, Dorathay, she was delightful. Thank you to everyone at Spire Fylde Coast, you are all amazing.

So I had to have surgery to fix a problem which was causing me both mental and physical complications, I would not like to disclose what operation. I first went through the nhs and was told I would be waiting around 80 weeks for the procedure. Due to this I went to spire as this was an issue I had kept closed and private from everyone. Everything was going great, I was seen by Dr sheik and he recommend a different procedure to the one I went in for as he believed that it would be better for me. I pushed for the one I wanted but he really wanted me to have the other procedure done, I agreed. I then had the surgery done and everything was great. I was on my road to recovery but was a bit concerned about wether my issue had been addressed. After the wound had fully healed i came to the realisation that it hadn’t worked, I was beyond annoyed as the surgery he recommended didn’t work. So I went back to spire hospital to see dr sheik to see what could be done, he was arrogant and rude to me which I confronted him about his medical opinion being wrong and I was not to blame for this but he still described the results as a surgical success. I then submitted a complaint about the whole thing but I was then told that If I wanted the issue to be solved I would have to fork out more money (of course) I refused as this was not my fault and I slowly came to the realisation that this place is just a business, nothing to do with healthcare which I should’ve expected. So Instead I went back to the NHS and I asked if we could go through with the surgery any sooner and they referred me back to spire but the NHS would cover the cost, I was reluctant at first due to giving this place more money but it meant I could have the surgery much sooner then I expected so I went through with it. I had the surgery done which I wanted to have done in the first place and I was consulted and operated on by Dr Islam who was great. He was very understanding and genuinely cared which was great. I had the surgery done and all was good, a great result. Now 7 weeks on I have fully recovered from the surgery and I am more than happy with the results. It just goes to show how great the NHS actually is and it they were the ones to resolve my issue not the doctors here. Overall I had to wait 6 months from the first surgery to have this all solved with not a single care in the world from the private part of this hospital. I would really recommend to not give these their money and just go through our great NHS, all Spire healthcare want is your money once they have that they couldn’t care less about you which is exactly what I experienced here. Use a different private healthcare service.

I have just had arthroscopy on my knee in Spire hospital. So grateful to all the staff who have looked after me so well - everyone's been so kind and thoughtful, as well as efficient and thorough in their care. I particularly want to thank Florin who was so attentive and empathetic - and the lovely apprentice nurse who helped me. They've all made a potentially scary experience into a positive one!

I have had the best treatment from the team at this hospital. From my fabulous phlebotomy nurse, my consultant and surgeon Mr Amu, my delightful and calming anaesthetist to the lovely Kirsty who took care of me pre and post surgery. I have never had an appointment happen late, and have always felt incredibly well looked after. My surgery was yesterday and I had plenty of time and patience from the team, as well as a delicious lunch when I was ready for eating. I cannot praise the treatment, care, and people at Spire Fylde Coast highly enough.

I would just like to say what a genuinely amazing experience I had today for my Pre Op, I was seen by Debbie who was an absolute star, eased my nerves and talked me through all the processes and procedures that I had to have. She is a credit to the team @ Spire, every hospital should have their very own Debbie on hand. Thanks duck, can’t say I’m looking forward to my operation but I am glad I’ll be looked after by you xx

I was finally admitted (after 1 1/2 years waiting time with NHS) to this hospital for a foot operation and Knee injection on 1st March 23 for the first time. Although the waiting time for the actual operation was nearly 8 hours and I got very frustrated, the aftercare of the nurses was really fantastic. Especially one nurse, Jason, was so compassionate and helped me through the bad condition due to the full anaesthetic. He checked in with me ever so often and made sure I had no pains. All in all, they made sure, even the night nurses (one of them called Linda) made sure I was comfortable and looked after. And this was as a NHS patient. The surgeon did a really good job on my foot and I am very grateful to every one of them. I would recommend this hospital now and respect their hard work they are doing for us. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more NI if the service was everywhere like here. Our nurses and doctors deserve it. Many many thanks to the team.

Have received excellent treatment from admission to discharge. Treated with dignity at all times, both in the operating theatre and on the ward. Especially by Gemma who had the night shift duties during my stay and Sarah Caine in aftercare looking after my wound and staples removal. Nursing skills second to none. I was in & out before my appointments times on both occasions. Thank you all so much.

I came to this hospital cause Victoria was full and this place was suppose to be a lot better but I need to get a few bits off my chest was seen to my room waw happy about it everything was going nice seen by the physio, seen by the chemist and seen by the canteen lady everything was going good until my doctor says I am first in and it will be at 9 o'clock. Waited and waited to the point where I phoned the office and asked about when I am getting seen at 10oclock I find out I am not first cause they are not ready for me it would of been nice to be told that their was difficulties and my operation is 2nd instead of first then after my operation everything is going good bur unfortunately I felt like I wasn't getting treated fairly they said rung the buzzer when you get out of bed so I did rather it took me 5 mins to get annoyed and pull the stuff off me and finally go toilet and the nurse turns up after I've been toilet like your a little bit too late. Was that annoyed I just wanted to get out of the spire hospital I might aswell went to the Vic.

I arrived for carpel tunnel surgery and from the moment we arrived the staff were amazing especially with our son a nurse named cherlynne went above and beyond! The surgery went well and could not have asked for better. The rooms are really comfortable very clean and again all the staff were excellent not just the nurses and doctors the catering staff kept us hydrated with tea coffee and drinks and honestly couldn’t be more welcoming Thankyou so much

Visited Fylde Coast today and start to finish they offered a first class service. The reception staff were friendly as was the radiologist. Mr Shah was great and explained everything clearly. I would without doubt recommend the Spire to family and friends.

Had my prostate operated on, the overall experience was amazing. Talk about being looked after before and after it was great. The only negative was when leaving. The discharge was poor, you seem to sit around for hours even though the doctor has given you the thumbs up and all the discharge tests had been done. I don't understand why they don't want the room empty ASAP so it 1 less person to worry about, it go to the point where I have to prompt the staff to get a move on. The issue is with every hospital and should be controlled via a single owner/monitor to make sure all the boxes are ticked in a timely fashion thus ensuring less pressure on the staff.

I had a great surgery experience today at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital being fortunate to be under the care of Prof Patel and his team. Nurse Jason played a great part in making my quite nervous and stressful situation, calm, relaxed and efficient. He should be commended for that. Not a place anyone would choose to be - but if I had to again I would certainly select this hospital.

6 weeks ago I had Trigger thumb release surgery done by the fantastic Mr Talawadeker through the NHS. From the 1st consultation, the surgery and my follow up appointment yesterday. I couldn't of asked for a better service and care. A big thank you to all the theatre staff who put me at my ease, the nurses on the ward and also the receptionists who were all very friendly. I can't comment on the food because I didn't have any but my coffee was served in a silver pot on a silver tray! I was even seen earlier than my appointment times on my consultation and follow up appointments. I was treated no differently to the private paying patients. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, in fact I do !

I came out of Spire Fylde Coast today, having had a knee replacement two days ago. I cannot fault any care I received in the hospital, from the initial reception team to the surgery itself. I was in room 10, which is close to the nurses station. In the evening all was quiet and peaceful. My surgeon was extremely kind, and witty with it, as was the anaesthetist who talked me our of a general into a spinal anaesthetic. I have to say that was a great call, coupled with a bit of sedation and Spotify, I was belting songs out like I was at a karaoke bar! Better still, recovery was quick. The day team were an absolute dream, so personable and caring and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The physios were very professional and made things with my recovery easy to understand (up for good, down for bad 😉). The cleaners were lovely, and my room was spotless. Finally the food....oh my, one word - Gorgeous! And always delivered with a smile and a chat. This is the second time having surgery at Spire Fylde Coast Hospital, and would choose it everytime. Great job.

I just wanted to leave a few words to praise the care I received at the Spire. Both pee and post surgery I was looked after very well, everything was explained to me and as I had to stay in overnight the nurse care and the catering also were exemplary and I would like to thank all the nurses and staff that took care of me. They were always happy, helpful and caring, so all in all a great experience

The staff at the Spire are absolutely wonderful, from the surgical team to all the nurses, physiotherapist, housekeeping, catering and reception. They made a worrying admission and operation as relaxed as possible. Excellent levels of care and support from everyone. - An apprehensive but truly appreciative patient 💕 Thankyou everybody

I have recently had knee replacement surgery carried out by Mr Javed at Spire Fylde Coast under the NHS. I cannot praise the hospital and staff highly enough. Communication from the hospital prior to admission was excellent. Everything happened as advised. My treatment has been exemplary and post op complications were dealt with swiftly and efficiently. All the staff without exception are kind and friendly and made my short stay with them as good as it could be. Many thanks.

Excellent service from admission to discharge from all staff. Always kept informed with progress and regular checks following surgery to ensure all my needs for safety and comfort were met. All areas of the hospital were exceptionally well maintained, clean and tidy, giving me a very comfortable feeling of my surroundings. Many thanks to all the staff.

Thank you!! Yesterday I had my gallbladder removed by this hospital on day case, honestly from the minute I arrived to leaving you guys were amazing! You made me feel at ease, which I'm not the best at calming down when I'm worried! The women taking us to my bay, was amazing and swapped me into a room right at last minute due to me not wanting to be on my own! Kirsty the nurse was amazing, I can not thank her enough for her chats and care! She is incredible! I came home remembering every little bit of our conversations! Thank you so much! Please could you pass this on how grateful I am for her! Surgical team were perfect to, and made the process as soon as I got to theatre so less worrying! After care was amazing to! Thank you to you all! After years of suffering with it, you made the last little push the best!
