Stayed at this hostel as part of an organised walking group. Loved the stay here. The facilities were comfortable and practical. Food made by Saul and Floss deserves a special mention - it was delicious and top class. I am coming back for sure!

Fantastic, ex-YHA hostel but upgraded from that standard! The owner/manager, Saul, was very friendly and helpful.

Spent a fantastic few days walking in the area. The welcome at the Hostel could not have been more friendly, food was amazing. Every meal was perfect and better than many resturants, and there was no chance of going hungry.

Stayed here last weekend in a group of 6. Echoing the reviews of others, this is a great well run hostel run by welcoming hosts Saul and Floss. Communal areas have a lovely chilled vibe and bedrooms and bathrooms clean and tidy. The food was a highlight for our group opting to eat here both nights of our stay. All meals were fresh and flavoursome and who can complain about 2 scoops of ice cream with all puds! Great walks from the door, but we also used it as our base to tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge (roughly 45 mins from the start point).

Saul and Floss were great hosts, very welcoming especially given that our trip was delayed by 15 months due to COVID. They went out of their way to accommodate us. They were so friendly and helpful! The rooms were clean and tidy, the showers were great. An absolutely lovely garden with stunning views. We had the full English breakfast which was really tasty and hearty! Amazing central location in Kettlewell, ideally located for getting out in the hills. Thank you Saul and Floss. We will definitely be back!

This was our walking group's third stay at Kettlewell and once again Floss and Saul were splendid hosts. The hostel was immaculately presented and breakfast a perfect set-up for a days walking.

Probably the best hostel in Yorkshire. Excellent, well-kept accommodation, in a superb location with friendly and helpful owners. If you book a stay here, you won't be disappointed. Hinckley Mountaineering Club

This is a fabulous independent hostel with wonderful owners, Floss & Saul, who have created a wonderful place to stay with absolutely first class service. Can not recommend this place highly enough if you are looking for somewhere warm; friendly and extremely welcoming in the Yorkshire Dales

What can I say! Loved it 😊 The hosts are warm, welcoming, and very friendly and helpful. The food (I had tea & breakfast) was a good price and delicious!. The facilities are good. They almost have a library of books (for sale). I liked the lounge where I read while others chatted. There's a kitchen for visitors. I shared a room with two girls who were very quiet and kept to themselves, so I slept well.

The hostel is based in a lovely location. The owners are friendly and helpful. The garden and dining area were looking good. The kitchen is clean. It was just a little bit cramped for more than one to cook which meant we waited till it was clear. The bedroom was small with one bed in a less than ideal location.

The services are friendly and professional The room and facilities are clean and well-maintained. The foods are high quality, super authentic prep meals just like home-cooked. The location is perfect to explore Yorkshire Dales We were being looked after so well... definitely recommend it to everyone

I visited this hostel as part of an organised navigation course with the FRA and was so pleasantly surprised! The decor is lovely, the rooms modern and bright, and the food was marvellous - Floss and Saul pulled out all the stops to make sure we didn't go hungry. The hostel doubles as a second hand bookstore with some well-stocked shelves surrounding many of the common areas, which is a really nice touch. Thanks for the friendly and warm welcome, I'll be returning!

This hostel is this perfect place for a holiday in the Dales. Lovely clean rooms, relaxing lounge and garden, amazing views, 2nd hand bookshop, but above all these was the welcome we received from Saul and Floss! They really made us feel at home with genuine warm-hearted conversation, and great knowledge of the area. The home-cooked food was plentiful and amazing, and we really appreciated the effort they put into offering choices for my daughter who has specific dietary needs. The little extras like biscuits to dunk with my pot of tea were a real treat. Thank you for our amazing stay...now we just need to work out when we can stay again!

I've been to many youth hostels, all with their own personality, the last few years I've started taking my son and he loves them, what I love more is how accomodating they are with him. Will be coming again soon.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about! The owners Floss and Saul work so hard every day, all day. Consequently the hostel is immaculate- every where. The members kitchen is really good and more importantly very clean. A lovely touch is fresh milk, tea and coffee available to all at any time. We were made to feel welcome throughout our 5 day stay our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Dorothy and I wish both Floss and Saul and family every success and thank you so much for making our reintroduction to hosteling after 20 years so special. Amazing people, Amazing Hostel in an amazing location!

Extremely helpful and welcoming owners from the first minute of arrival and right throughout our stay. Immaculately clean and very comfortable. Great location in the heart of Wharfdale. Evening meals provided good choices and cooked to a high standard. Very pleased with the vegan choices. Full vegan English breakfast was possibly the best vegan breakfast I’ve ever had. Vegan black pudding was amazing. In summary, lovely people running a first class hostel. Would certainly recommend.Thank you

Saul and Floss have created and are running a wonderful hostel. The minute you walk through the door the ambience and friendliness hits you! Everywhere is spotlessly clean, bright, cheerful with wonderful food and lots of book shelves : full of amazing books. It was a joy to stay at this high standard hostel and we want to return.

Great facilities in a wonderful location and run very professionally and personally by Floss and Saul. Can't fault their attention to detail in providing a great atmosphere, great food and a wonderful relaxed feel to the whole place. Definitely recommend it a base for exploring Upper Wharfedale.

Now one of my very favourite YHAs. Lovely welcome from the owners, fab food and really good rooms. Everything about it is a cut above the standard you expect at a YHA. Already planning to return with freinds.

I spent 4 days in this youth hostel in October with a group of friends. I had gone on a number of hikes with these friends on a number of occasions and this was the best youth hostel I stayed in. The service, the quality and quantity of food, the hospitality and the friendliness that I found here was beyond doubt the best I found anywhere and I felt it was all genuine. Thank you Saul and Floss.
