I was taken into Basildon Hospital on 6th March 2021, to the Roding Ward, via an ambulance with two excellent paramedics. They found I was having a heart attack and on arrival at the hospital was immediately sent to have a stent fitted. The team of nurses and doctors saved my life that day. They were the most caring people and I shall be eternally grateful to them all. The tea lady with her "Hydration Station" (tea trolley to most of us) always seemed to be around providing us with drinks and cake etc. Many thanks to the whole team from surgeons, nurses, tea ladies, cleaners and anyone else I have forgotten to mention. What an amazing team.

Long overdue and richly deserved tribute to the entire team at this wonderful life-saving heart centre. Can't speak highly enough of staff's professionalism, dedication, and excellent top-rate facilities. Having just made another recent return follow-up visit since undergoing open-heart surgery, it felt like meeting up with old friends again at a fun reunion. From the surgeon to the cardiac rehab team, the entire staff deserve far more than than a 5* award from me. You might even say, they are forever in my heart. So fortunate are we to have these caring people and world renowned facilities on our doorstep.

You cannot park at this hospital, you will miss your appointment. Utter disgrace. I’ve just spent 50 minutes circling 3 rammed car parks. Missed my heart scan, gave up and drove myself home. Woefully inadequate resources

Dr David farewell and the team saved my life, 5 star rating just isn't enough in my eyes. Very professional, friendly, caring, helpful staff. Very clean and tidy, easy to locate where you need to go. Every single staff member was so kind to me ( I cried a lot! ) and everybody did their absolute best to comfort me, I will be forever grateful to every single staff member. Excellent communication to. Hopefully I never need to go back, but if I did I would 100% go back to this cardiologist unit. I feel confident in the team and would feel comfortable with them operating on my heart again. Thank you all so much!

Absolutely useless hospital! My father went in to hospital and because of complete negligence he is now completely bedridden. There was one failing after the other. Even when he was sent home they did a failed discharge and didn't even refer him to the district nurses after fitting the catheter themselves (out of their own convenience) so he got an infection as no nurses where able to come out as they had no information on him. He then had to go back into hospital where he declined even more. Im cutting the story for short but and alot more has happened prior and since but today i felt compelled to write this review. Its an awful place and i would never trust them again. We have even had to go to the extreme length of moving my dad out of Essex.

Just got home from this absolutely wonderful, caring and totally professional centre. From when I arrived by Ambulance, in the wonderful care of paramedics BEN and KATIE from Romford who saved my life, to the team who put my stent in and all the unsung Heroes and the Nurses Lily, Gemma, Georgie, Nabooka and all the rest of the team. I was blessed to go there. True HEROES.

My husband has been receiving great care form the cardiology unit at Basildon Hospital. Recently he has undergone surgery and we could not have wished for better care . So Thank you to the consultant Mr H Savage and all the team . You are all a life saver . Kind Regards. Mrs S Burris

I’ve just come home after my second visit to the Cardiac Unit (9 years after the first) and still an amazing hospital. I cannot thank them enough for all that the doctors and nurses have done for me. The care, attention and professionalism coupled with their friendliness is first class. My thanks go to the paramedics who also helped to save my life. Great Britain is so lucky to have a wonderful NHS.

Being told bad news and having to sit & cry on yr own is awful i had to wait 4 hours for a cuddle off my daughters 😢😥😢my daughter phoned reception explained i was in a state the nurse replied visiting is 2.oc. there's no need causing heart patients stress ?there was no patients on my bit i was totally on my own thank god for the tea lady who gave me comfort

From initial consultation to pre-op care, I recommend this service. I was treated professionally and kindly by the Cardio team. I can't thank them enough for the difference they have made to my health and wellbeing.

From the very first visit to Mr Albanese to the day of discharge the standard of care & professionalism shown by every member of staff was outstanding. Facing major heart surgery is daunting but myself & my family were given continuous encouragement & reassurance all the way through my surgery & recovery. Mr Albanese is an outstanding surgeon & his whole team are so kind & caring. Thank you all so much
