This is an amazing building and a must-see in Romsey. The enormous dimensions combined with the age of this church makes for a breathtaking experience. It so happened that there was a music recital when we visited, and the music was enhanced by the acoustic of the building. We were handed a leaflet upon arrival, and it was a really useful way to guide you around the abbey, identifying the various items of particular interest. There is also a good website for the abbey which it pays to review before visiting. Lucky are those who call this their parish church.

A large Abbey, free admittance, but donations are readily accepted and welcomed. Reception staff provided some history facts, and the architecture is fantastic. Mountbatten is buried there, he lived close by at Broadlands, and to see his grave was my reason to go.

Exterior buildings looks like any old factory. But building is very majestic. Interior is very nice and attractive. There is possibility to visit building. Surroudings is pitoresque.

A beautiful place full of history and tranquility, it has spectacular stained glass windows, the very helpful and friendly volunteers tell you the story in great detail, not very crowded at least on a weekday, a highly recommended visit

A beautiful place to visit. Peace, tranquility and the knowledge that over 1000 years have created the ambience which prevails throughout. Super green space all around. Very friendly and helpful staff, too! ❤️

It's beautiful ancient walls rise above you. The structure is magnificent. The river runs beside you. The spring flowers glow in the church yard . The birds flock and twitter in the hedgerows. Even if you don't enter the abbey. Walk around the exterior. Look up and there is much to interest and inspire. A magnificent window and a tiny door. Gargoyles and turrets.

Take a look inside to see history, architecture. It's a big space! Relatives recently went to a carol service which they really enjoyed with the acoustics. If in Romsey, it is a must to see.

Stunning space. Looks like church from the outside but has the feeling if a cathedral inside. Stunning windows and as has been said very helpful staff and interesting free leaflet style guide. We have tried not to repeat the amazing interior photos.

We went for a music performance and it was a wonderful evening. The acoustics were very good. It was a beautiful day and we walked around the village and there is lots of lovely boutiques. Can highly recommend 108 coffee and cake cafe by Waitrose. Perfect day

This abbey contains an interesting relic from middle to late Saxon date 650-1066 AD. The relic is a head of plaited hair found buried under the church in a lead coffin.

Glad we took the time to have a look around. Beautiful interior with a mixture of traditional and modern decorations. The resting place for Earl Mountbatten of Burma.

A worthy Abbey, that has been added to over the centuries. Can see that they've done some fairly recent renovation work on the exterior, making a pleasant distinction between old and new. Lord Mountbatten is buried there, along with members of the Palmerston family. Several other notables are listed.

Beautiful and fascinating, with a ton of history. The volunteers were lovely and very helpful. They obviously love the Abbey, and are particularly proud of the new (and stunning) Nightingale window

Again a lovely church, so beautifully preserved, these sorts of places always leave me in awe. So much work and mastery gone into it, and still used today, worth a visit.
