Pro Tip: Dine in on a Monday and get 30% off the big chops. An outstanding burger featuring two smashed patties, superb melted cheese, and a perfectly grilled bun. The service is excellent, and the steaks are cooked to perfection on a proper grill, delivering a melt-in-the-mouth experience. I highly recommend the cheesecake, this is served table side with huge portions.

One of the best finds in London! The food and staff here are both amazing. Would definitely recommend anyone to come here especially on a special occasion. It was my friend’s birthday when we went, and when we told them they told us they’ll take care of it and they really did. They gave us a free pig’s head on toast, mango and raspberry sorbet with a sparkler to celebrate as my friend is lactose intolerant. And when we ordered a cheesecake, they gave us the whole remaining plate of it which is twice the usual amount. And this is in addition to the amazing food. We went on Monday which is butchers price so steaks are £5/100g. The prime rib was amazing and cooked well. The beef dripping fries are the best if you love thick cut fries. All this to say, that we had one of the best dinners ever here.

From the moment we walked in we fell in love. The place has charm and character. The music was lovely. Our server was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The mushrooms on toast were surprisingly flavoursome. The steaks and accompanying sauces were superb and accurately made. The salads were fresh and delicious. The cheesecake was absolutely amazing and the way it is served was a wonderful surprise. This must be the only place in the entire UK serving toothpicks at the end of the meal. Was a perfect final touch. Well done! You may have guessed by now, but we could not recommend this place enough. An absolute must. We will be coming back!

Visited this pub in Aug 2022 but never got around to give a more detailed review, but felt i owe it a 5 star review due to the very good food they served as well as the efficiency of staff and the nice atmosphere it has. I guess it's better late than never. Thank you for the memorable experience we had and we will be back the next time we are in London. Love the Sunday roast so much that we would love to share the photos here with others. Well done and keep up the good work.

    - Sixth rib eye steak (medium) - Garlic marrow spread - Chicory, pear and stilton salad - Beef dripping chips Okay when the steak first came out it didn't look impressive, but classic case of don't judge book by cover. 😂 A great, well cooked steak with a nice charred bark and tender, juicy insides, both full of that scintillating contrast of salty-smokey and meaty-sweet, respectively. The garlic marrow was the best (and probably only) marrow I've had that felt and tasted noteworthy - a good amount, complemented the steak, but also had that extra touch (garlic) to give a bit of depth. The salad was a fantastic choice and I would prefer it over chips - the bitter leaves with mellow pear and sharpish Stilton was refreshing and juxtaposed the steak and marrow. The chips were nice, but chips always are - though there was something about them that made me think of oven chips. 😅

Jeez Louise this place was good. Split the All In platter with a friend. Perfect amount for 2. The small bites (appetizer) were really well done. Each of the meats was fantastic, but the sirloin was top followed closely by the pork belly. If I went again, I'd probably just get the sirloin or prime rib. Oh, and the grilled flatbread under the meat was insanely good. Wow. The fries (chips, whatever) were incredible. Usually steak fries are always soggy, but these were crisp and delicious. And they paired oh so amazingly well with the peppercorn sauce (also phenomenal with the meat). Ended up getting two things of fries. Also had the broccoli and kale side which was nice and light and complemented the meal nicely. The service was excellent. Place was clean. Great vibes. Will definitely try to get back.

Always a great place to have chops and steak… with the garlic bread soaking up all the juices. Great sides and drinks… with some fantastic house wines and cheap cocktails. Don’t forget the cheesecake or the bread & butter pudding (seasonal!). Throw in some fantastic staff members who all seem to be having fun working there and you have a restaurant I frequent on a monthly basis.

Worth every penny. Highly recommend the sharing Sunday roast for £22. Portion sizes were great and they’re not shy with the gravy which we all know is the key to a good Sunday roast. The staff were all friendly and highly accommodating, especially Andreea! Oh, make sure you get the white chocolate cheesecake 🤤🤤

Great service, great food, great pudding. We unexpectedly showed up with a group of 7 and they were able to accommodate us for dinner. The steaks were perfectly done. The best side was the bread and gravy.

Always my go to for a meat fueled feast! Skinny lamb chops to start are a must, followed by a massive sharing meat cut, sides of fries, Garlic bone marrow and baby gem lettuce with anchovy butter are my faves! Service is always good even when busy, though on occasions you have to wait quite a while to get your food. It's worth the wait!

Had an excellent lunch here with clients. They were really impressed with the food - the steaks were perfectly cooked and the chops to start were delightful. Wine was good and we finished with excellent desserts. Love the cheesecake

It is the best Sunday roast I’ve had so far. The lamb Sunday roast comes with gravy and mint sauce and they top them up as soon as they see gravy boat empty. They serve only Sunday roasts ( pork, beef , lamb ) at Sundays. Their white chocolate cheesecake is divine as well and they didn’t add it on the bill and made it complimentary 🥺( added its photo ). Thank you Blacklock ! Big portions for affordable price . The atmosphere is quite cosy and the staff ❤️are friendly too. I don’t know who choice the music but they are doing a good job. Overall, super good experience.

The server was awesome and friendly. We had a porterhouse 700gm for 2, and it was just nice. The carrots with almonds were surprisingly good, and I highly recommend that everyone give it a shot. The bone marrow sauce was a little of a let down.

Delicious food that is seasoned to perfection. The steak was cooked exactly how I asked. The bernaise sauce was very flavourful. The broccoli and walnut salad was delicious. Prices are very reasonable, especially for the cocktails! The staff were very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Highly recommend! I visited on a Sunday for a roast and was not disappointed. We had the sharing roast which was a good way to try all of the cuts of meat - lamb, pork and beef - plus roast poatoes, yorkshire pudding and some excellent charred vegetables. Good portions and excellent quality and very good service too. Worth booking a table because it's very popular!

Solid place for traditional meats! Ordered the All-in, and the appetizers were good. However, the meats were slightly dry, especially the pork. Was not the best steak I have had, but the steak was definitely the best meat there. But do get the sweet potato side! Charred to perfection and great smoky flavor. Recommend for date night as atmosphere is very nice.

Loved it despite not being a steak person. Shared 2 lamb chops, a 650g porterhouse big chop, carrots and baby gem. Meat was tender, juicy and cooked just right (medium). Veggies fresh and sweet and delicious. In hindsight the All in special is better value for money despite us benefiting from Butchers Monday prices on the big chip.

The staff was nice and knowledgeable. It took time to get the food on the table but it was worth waiting. The meat was cooked perfectly and so tasty 😋 My girlfriend had the beef sandwich and she is still talking about how delicious it tasted. -1 star for the waiting time and because the place is very loud, probably from the way it's made. Pretty hard to have a conversation. I recommend the place and I will certainly go back myself.

A great place for steaks at an affordable price. The meat melts in the mouth and it's of a very good quality. The fries are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside as they should be (yes perfectly cooked chips/fries). We got the rump fillet and rib-eye steak and we also tried the broccoli & walnut salad which was so tasty (i will try make something similat at home)! We will be back. Thank you!

We didn't mess around - went for the 'All In' option. I would highly recommended this choice. You get pre-chop bites followed by a mix of beef, pork and lamb chops. All of this on top of garlic flatbreads. The side dishes of carrots and sweet potatoes are amazing. Accompanied by amazing cocktails and finished off with Bread and butter pudding and cheesecake. Can't go wrong - the service and team there are brilliant and really look after you.

Unreal! The All-in is exceptional and also good value. Meat lovers don't hesitate, although there are other options too. Staff are so friendly almost unheard of. I will return!!

I have eaten here several times already and the quality is always excellent. I usually go here when I’m on a business trip. I highly recommend this restaurant. Please go there! My go to dinner is the “Sixth Rib-eye”, ”Beef dripping chips” & “Heritage Broccoli & Walnut Salad“. The bar can also mix a great “Whiskey sour”

Beautiful experience for all-in Sunday roast. Preferred the roast beef, but lamb with mint sauce was also very good. Cabbage, potatoes, and carrots were hearty and a good compliment to the meat. Gravy, and all the sauces really, were divine. Bread and butter pudding to end. Loved it. Service was exemplary as well.

We were very pleased to stumble across atmospheric restaurant in the heart of the city. We were looking for a steak house with plenty of vibe and Blacklock City did not disappoint. However, the steaks we selected from their dinner menu were a underwhelming in size and quality and presentation was simple. I was happy to pay more but we were not presented with the option to go large, there was no discussion regarding weight whereas their walls clearly indicate 'substantial' steaks are on offer (see photo). I would've preferred a more peppery sauce or at least the option instead of their alternative in-house version. The chicory salad complemented the steak nicely albeit on the bland side with a lacklustre dressing. BUT...what really sells this place is their service and atmosphere. The guys made you feel immediately at home and relaxed which was welcoming considering a hectic whirlwind of a day. And it is for this reason we would be happy to return and sample the big meat this time!

Probably one of the best steakhouses in London. The food is amazing; a real meat heaven. Strongly recommend the Pig’s Head on Toast as starter. A small restaurant in the basement but without the feeling of being overcrowded largely due to its high ceilings. The restaurant gets busy and could be noisy but comfortable enough to enjoy a meal. Friendly staff and reasonably priced steaks. Would return. Food 9/10, service 8/10, ambience 7/10, value for money 8/10.

Finally my friends and I get to try the famous Sunday Roast. The food was below my expectation. Nothing stood out except their gravy that makes the food much tastier. Overall it was a good experience.

  • 4/5 Andrew 2 years ago on Google
The food is excellent. You can order a big chunk of meat to share or enjoy a plate of every meat by yourself. The price is not too pricey, the service good and all staff at the dining area wear mask.

The Sunday roast was absolutely divine!! Staff were amazing, they truly went above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience for all & I will most definitely be back. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Fantastic little steak/grill restaurant near Tower Bridge. Excellent recommendations from the staff regarding choices. The 'All In' sharing chop platter, £5 cocktails, house larger and cheesecake was amazing. Great atmosphere too.

  • 5/5 Andy T. 2 years ago on Google
Went here with a group from work and ordered the all in platter. The steak was really nice, the pork and lamb was equally nice but I'm more of a steak man myself so that was the best bit. The garlic marrow was amazing as were the beef dripping chips. The staff took our order well given the shambles we made at ordering and everyone got their meal at the same time. Well worth it and I would go again

Black lock is always our favourite place to go. Food is delicious always best quality and flavour, cook as you want. Is really good value and quality for money. And service is every time perfect, they always super polite, professional and good for lil chat. Definitely recommend for date or special occasion diner for all steak and meat lovers.

Second time at Blacklock City and the food was incredible just like my last visit! Such great value food and drink. The service we received was absolutely fantastic. Our server Richie (and the trainee server) was fantastic and was so patient as I kept changing my mind as I was so indecisive and the whole menu looked so good. He was very attentive and friendly it felt like we were having dinner at a friend's house. Will be coming back for more delicious food and great atmosphere. Thank you!

Went there for our anniversary and felt welcomed by staff immediately. I am not one to write reviews, however our friendly waiter Mihir made us feel very comfortable and made sure we were set to order bringing us complimentary champagne and surprising us with Mushrooms on Toast. I would definitely recommend this place, great atmosphere and high quality food. One of my favourite places to eat in London!

  • 3/5 Casey I. 5 months ago on Google
The food was absolutely average. Try steak sarnie and the white chocolate cheesecake. I came alone for food, but if you are coming here for drinks with a vibe, they do have good drinks option and good decor.

  • 4/5 Shaun M. 10 months ago on Google
What a great place. Food is great, service is great and the atmosphere is warm. The All In is always the way to go in my opinion. It's a good deal but for anyone who thinks the prices here might be a bit too high, consider this....you probably won't need to eat the next day and so you save on food bills that way!!! If I have to nit pick I would say, I would like both menus available on a Sunday rather than just the roast and that the pork could do with 10 minutes more in the oven..but as I say..nit picking. Definitely worth going here and I will go again soon.

Went for Friday night dinner with a group of friends. Food was fantastic and the service top notch too. Our waitress was fantastic throughout the night, and with the bartender even organised for a little tasting of dessert wines before I settled on a fave. 100% recommend.

Visiting Blacklock makes me miss living and working in London, the best of food, setting and service. It makes me feel like the best things in London happen underground. Always underground, chic and luxurious and smooth and friendly. My sis chose Blacklock as my treat to her for a well deserved promotion, and she chose wisely - must be the influence of a wise older brother. It was the first time I've had their roast, went all-in, and it was all delicious, the gravy as always is the star of the show - I could drink a pint of the stuff, and the generous portion of perfect cheesecake, the biscuits aren't hidden. I feel like the cheesecake represents the nature of Blacklock, open and honest and delicious - there is none of the feared LDN pretentiousness that can creep in. We were served by four different people, all lovely and friendly, even though it was busy and probably always is. A big thanks to the team, keep up the great work and gravy - I look forward to returning.

Booked one and a half months in advance to try the infamous Sunday roast, and it did not disappoint. After the long wait, we went all in and tried the platter which allows you to try a bit of everything. Served up piled high, to be plated at the table with delicious unlimited meaty (and very salty) gravy and all the condiments. We added the cauliflower cheese, which sadly looked more impressive than it tasted, with its thick grilled, cheese top. The food arrived within minutes of ordering, and the experience seemed to be over all too quickly, but was really enjoyable nonetheless.

  • 5/5 Millie 1. 2 years ago on Google
We went for the ‘All-In’ option on the menu and you definitely get it all! The meat was cooked perfectly (we like beef and lamb pink) and the flatbread underneath took on all the meaty flavours. We were a little disappointed with the bread and gravy and we thought it was a bit dry and could have done with some more gravy. But overall a great atmosphere and fantastic staff :)

When in the City, visit the City…. Blacklocks City meat gaff! Oh my days you will not be disappointed from the great range of drinks, fantastic service and simply the best meat EVER with wonderful sides. Don’t forget to ask for the Stilton Sauce to accompany your meal. It’s not on the menu but it should be. Who doesn’t like a blue cheese sauce with the meat!???? Looking forward to return next month already.

  • 4/5 Bryan C. 2 years ago on Google
Very good food and excellent value. The "all in" selection of various chops was really tasty and for £22 hard to argue with. The focaccia underneath all that meat was excellent. We also tried a few big cuts and the steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly.

  • 5/5 M Y. 1 year ago on Google
Blacklock definitely has the Sunday roast in London. You have to go with All In. The meat is a given 5 star, but what’s really amazing is the rest of the plate. I’ve never had better roast veggies for Sunday roast. I’ve been to the City branch twice and pork wasn’t great the first time, but the second time it was just melting. Service is great, very friendly and attentive staff. Also the cocktails are good and very reasonably priced.

  • 4/5 Victoria H. 11 months ago on Google
[High quality services/ nice wine and food/ Bit pricy] We had 1 kilo porterhouse and some pork belly chops. 1 kilo steak is good for sharing among 4 people. Pork belly chops and chips are also very tasty. Although Blacklock is generally famous for its beef, they do know how to do the pork right. White chocolate cheesecake is also what I would recommend. This place is very busy. Better make booking in advance to avoid waiting.

(Sunday Roast) The service here is impeccable, all staff are professional and have very good character. The food is out of this world, we had the trio of meats and the roast potatoes were crispy and fluffy in the middle! Cocktails pack a punch and bar staff are friendly. For desserts we had the white chocolate cheesecake, I’m not a big lover of cheesecake but this was one of the best desserts I have ever had.. Plentiful portions!! Can’t wait to visit again, Thank you.

Its quite rare to find somewhere with both service this fantastic, and excellent prices. Atmosphere manages to be cosy and relaxed, despite being in an industrial basement. Great menu for both sharing options (All-in) and choice cuts. Sides were varied and tasty, not all like the afterthoughts sometimes found in restaurants of this price range.

It always worries me every time I visit that maybe on this visit it won't be up to the excellent standard it always has been...another visit today & still 5-star. Food is exceptional & such good quality. Excellent atmosphere, staff always friendly & attentive. This was a visit with 2 friends that had never been. Another happy visit & more converts 😊

The Blacklock City was my FAVORITE dining experience when visiting London. The food was delicious and the service was spectacular. Their drink menu was unique but when we sat down they made sure to mention we could order any of our favorite classic cocktails. Our server, Julia, was very kind and accommodating. She gave us the best recommendations and made sure we were happy and comfortable as we enjoyed our meal. I look forward to visiting again on my next trip.

This was our first time visiting Blacklock and we had an amazing experience. Restaurant was busy even on a Tuesday evening but we were seated in a more private part of the restaurant. Food was PHENOMENAL! Literally the best steak I've tasted in a long time. I will suggest the ALL IN ONE dish which was super delicious and great value for your money. We ordered the white chocolate cheesecake and to our surprise it was presented in the dish it was baked in with a candle to wish my husband a happy birthday. The cheesecake was so delicious and we got way more than we paid for it. Altogether, an amazing night out, great food, welcoming staff and great atmosphere. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

Amazing sunday roast! The gravy was excellent! I just wish the service gave us time looking at the menu, when we mentioned we needed another minute, our host returned not even a minute after to ask if we’re ready again. We just felt rushed. Other than that, great food!

Amazing experience here. Food was top notch, meats done to perfection, even the salad was out of this world. (Absolutely must go with the brocolli and walnut salad). Sandra hosted us and was truly exceptional. Her service alone is already a 20 out of 10. Will definitely be back 🫶

We were looking for dinner and discovered this steak place from google map. The front lady was guiding two man for a seat first and asked us to stay. That was fine. Till she came back and said no seats were available in a restaurant with 6+ desk availability. So I was like okay fine then. So I started to looking for other restaurants. Then she showed us her booking system and said there’s only desk available in 1hr. Well, you do know the label color for available slots and none available slots are different right? Why did you skip the front slots and scroll down to the one hour later one. Also, she let some people after us also seem with no booking in. I’m pretty sure there were slots because we successfully booked one slots through website online. And the slots were all available. The portion of the Ramp fillet, hm seems real tiny. And was 17 pounds, comes in plate with no additional decoration. So what’s different between homemade one and your restaurant one then? Concluding all that it’s really hard to say I was not being asian racist. Not going again and do not recommend asian to this restaurant.
