What a fun action packed day we had here. I recommend going when an event is on which is quite regularly so look at the website for the event dates. We went during the miniatures weekend and there was so much going on. We had several different steam train rides, a short trip on a tram and also a local bus tour on a heritage bus. All included a within our ticket price. We had a two year old with us and we’re really impressed at the overall value as rides and attractions were also included within the ticket price including access to soft play. The museum is great too and has a great collection of trains to see and there was plenty of information to read that was readily available including videos and display boards. Food and drinks including a bar is available as well as bringing your own food. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating in the courtyard and we took our own picnic. If you rushed around the attractions you could see statfold in about 1-2 hours, but if you relax take your time and enjoy the trips and want to enjoy everything it has to offer you can easily spend a day here like us. We are already looking at the event’s calendar to plan our next visit. Highly recommended day out.

Brilliant place! So much to see and do for all ages. Trains, tram rides, an amazing collection of steam engines plus a superb soft play area and climbing wall for children. Refreshments are available and reasonably priced and there are plenty of very well appointed toilet facilities. We will certainly go again. Oh, and the entry price is also very fair.

What a lovely day out - lots to see and do and all for a reasonable price. £10 for an adult and that includes all the exhibitions and train rides. I was amazed at how much there was to see. It’s hidden away very well. Clearly a lot of money and care has been spent to make this a great place to visit. Some of the events (festivals and special days) look really interesting so will definitely try it out again soon.

Such a lovely experience here yesterday. Mrs Clause at the Bakery was just amazing, she definitely made everyone laugh. Santa was actually looking how Santa should look and his Elves all played the part down at the grotto. The gifts were the best I've ever seen at any Santa experience over the 11 years we've been doing this and the kids enjoyed picking their own. Food was lovely too, listening to the choir in the background. 3 hours went quickly and the kids didn't want to leave. A big pat of the back for all the team who made our 1st experience here so enjoyable. Definitely a winner I'm my eyes.

A friend recommended a visit to the sweet Indian steam event at Statfold Barn Railway. Wow. What a place. We spent the full day there and we still have lots more to see and do. We will definitely be going back with the grandchildren. Free parking and a low entrance fee. Plenty of toilets. Good food freshly made alongside grab and go items. A nice area to sit and eat in which is regularly cleaned. There is a small gift shop, with reasonable prices. A clean well lit static museum. Free rides on the steam trains with plenty of photo opportunities on and off the trains. There is a lot of walking, some with pathways, some without. A map of the site would be useful. As a private collection, this is a hidden jewel. Highly recommended, visit the website and plan a visit. SBR thank you for a great day out.

Such an amazing place. This weekend was the Road Rail and Ale festival. Truly amazing always so much to see and do. Would totally recommend a visit even when not an event on!

Visited the Santa Express with the family today and we would happily return again. The kids absolutely loved the steam train ride, which was nicely decorated and played Christmas tunes. Plenty to do to cover a couple of hours including having a hot drink during a break - recommend the hot chocolate. Father Christmas was brilliant with the kids and Mrs Claus was a great suprise whilst decorating a cookie. A letter to Father Christmas can be written too. There is a playground and a small ride as well plus a brass band playing They have done a fantastic job to make it a great Christmas place to visit at this time of year with kids 👍

I visited The Statfold Barn Railway on Saturday 7th May as it has been on my bucket list for some time. I had a wonderful day and as luck would have it the weather was lovely. I cannot praise the railway and staff etc enough for all the events that took place the minature steam run past the wonderful NG steam railway plus tram service.I have been a keen railway fan from an early age from HD 00 TO 4ft 8in + and have travelled the world in the Merchant Navy as third engineer and was lucky enough to spend time in RSA and film 3ft 6in and 2ft Garratts in the 1970s which I have on my You Tube channel. I also used the cafe on site and had a baked jacket potato with tuna which was fine and the staff although busy were nice and polite. I cant imagine the effort and organisation it took to put the weekend together but they did a brilliant job and I would certainly look forward to another visit. To save a 250 round trip battling with HGVs etc on the M6 I chose the train and was glad I did as I arrived fresh and not stressed. The railway put a free bus on from the station but I missed it by only 5 mins so took a taxi as I did not want to wait 40 mins on the return I caught it at 16.10. I have over 30 mins film from Sat on You Tube so if you did not visit just see what you missed! Yours sincerely Brian.R.Eastham

Have visited a few times now over the last 5 years. Used to absolutely love this venue and rated it 5*. So much to see and they used to run quite an intense service which was great for enthusiasts. My most recent visits have shown that the service has really slowed down. Lots of hanging around at the main station and trains now stop for a while half way around so that kids can look at some cartoon creatures in the "Fellumpa Village". Newsflash, the kids weren't interested, nobody got off. The other downside to this slowing down was that fewer trains ran and, with visitor numbers increasing, the queues are growing far more than they should. Lots of grumbles from staff and passengers alike. More visitors needs more trains running not less. My last two visits were for events. Lots to see but next time I'll take my own food and drinks as the queues were lengthy. The burger van just can't cope and anyone asking for a veggie option has to wait much longer. Really want this place to stay and succeed but IMO it's now going backwards. Reluctantly reducing the star rating.

We absolutely loved it here!! It has a bit of everything and the roundhouse museum is like nothing I've ever seen before. The soft play is brilliant! Train rides so fun! Roller disco looks amazing! Museum has lots to explore. There's also a lovely little shop; children's diggers; zip wire and two swings. The gentleman who greeted us at the gate to take our tickets was so friendly and cheery - really set us up for a lovely day.

Beautiful set up for railway lover. My 2yrs old toddler was absolutely loveit and don't want to leave. The history, collection of engine over centuries. Steam railway was another great experience. We will definitely be back.

Little kids can spend the whole day enjoying two interesting trains suitable for everyone. Unfortunately, Strawberry Park is closed today. However, there are climbing games that are really enjoyable for bigger kids. The cafe offers food with a decent taste, but bringing some food is recommended for a more delicious experience. Overall, it was a good journey and a valuable visit.

Spent a lovely Mother's Day afternoon today at Statfold. Had a lovely little steam train ride to our destination where the kids could play in the barn, then had a mooch around the museum, then up to mezzanine for afternoon tea, all of it was an absolute delight, lovely friendly staff, everywhere spotlessly clean. It's a little Gem 💎 ✨️. Can well recommend

What a gem of a place. Whilst based around the narrow gauge collection they are expanding the offerings for families. The collection is unbelievable. Well worth visiting. We will definitely return in the main season to see more running trains and teams. Note that the phones are not manned on weekends. Surprisingly no brochures available to help spread the word. Well worth supporting. Buy tickets in advance in the busy season.

Wheelchair and buggy access ♿ Ramps put out by station masters to help get on and off trains Great food and drink available but long queue for each separate queue ( one queue for drinks one queue for food) Cars, bikes, lorry's, trucks, army vehicle, classic cars. Train rides were fabulous. Staff very friendly and helpful and it was very well organised. Lots of clean and well stocked toilet facilities all around the site. Picnic tables if you want to take your own. Car park isn't far to walk to the main entrance. Things for the children to do. Definitely worth a day out. We took my disabled brother and he loved it.

Statfold Coubtry Park is a fantastic day out at a price that won’t break the bank. There is plenty to see and do, clean facilities, good food and exceptionally friendly staff that made us feel externally welcome. One weekend in August we were at a loss for something to do with our two boys (7 and 9). A quick search on Google Maps and we found Stratfold Country Park. A little confused how we hadn’t found this place before we set off in the car to go and check it out. A short drive (30 minutes) and we arrived, parked the car and started to explore. We certainly weren’t disappointed. Playgrounds, family games, soft play, climbing, not one but two working steam railways and two fantastic museums. All for a very reasonably priced family ticket. We had such a lovely day. I would definitely recommend this as a place to take the family. Food is good and reasonably priced. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and we had a few laughs with them as we went about our day trip. Well done Statfold Coubtry Park. Keep up the good work!

Visited during this year's (2023) Model Railway Show which also included travel on any of the miniature railways around the site. Brilliant exhibition with a good range of layouts. On-site plenty of static and live trains to look at or watch or ride behind. Very good facilities and extremely clean and tidy.

Great place to visit. Lots of narrow guage engines to view and a few running on a short section of track that you can ride on (There's also a tram, which is also fun, but not up to the level of Crich). There is a cafe serving a selection of coffees, cakes and hot food. Some vegetarian options.

We have come for the weekend to Statfold's steam in miniature weekend with our model steam lorry. To say it has be utterly fantastic is an understatement!! Loads to see and do, everything is meticulously clean and well turned out, staff are wonderful, polite and helpful and everything is very reasonably priced from the beer to the ice cream and cakes. Can't wait to come back next year!!

Visited on a Wednesday and it was pretty much a free run of the place. Soft play included for the little one, total of around 18 for an adult and child. A nice little museum full of trains and some reading to be done, nice little cafe and softplay/climbing area. We went on two of the trains, both running once an hour and rides unlimited. The mini train takes you into a short walk around a lake or Reservoir and is shaded by the trees. There's also a swing ride, bouncy castle and inflatable slide. We had a great day!

Been to the Santa's Christmas Express, first visit ever, took grandchildren and had a wonderful experience. Staff all very helpful and polite. I felt very reasonable value for money. Not over sold, so not over crowded, very comfortable to get to all of the experience. Highly recommend

This was the second time we have visited Statfold Barn Railway at Christmas. It's a perfect half day out which actually represents great value for a Christmas experience. Let me start with the Santa experience. The best I've seen! The grotto is decorated with great attention to detail, elves are friendly and engaging for the children and the Santa is perfect. Top outfit, super friendly and engaged making it a truly memorable experience for the kids. They do take pictures (to sell) but even let you take your own anyway so you aren't forced to do anything which is refreshing. To keep this under an essay I will list the other great parts of the experience.. The steam train to the pole, staff (elves) and others are super friendly and seem genuinely happy to be there, cookie decorating, diggers, reindeer food bags, snow machines on arrival to the "north pole" and much more. Great experience. Nothing negative to say. Thank you

Brilliant place, superb facilities, narrow guage railway and so much more, set on a vast site, their event days are very well organised, with lots of interest for all age groups.

Cute little railway. Absolutely chock filled with things for small and big kids to do. Definitely a place to take kids to wear them out.

We went here for their Party in the Park. It was clean, friendly and very well organised. Customer service seemed high on their priority list. We are planning on attending their Halloween/fireworks display. See you there.

We had a really lovely day, myself and two under 10's. It was a dinosaur themed weekend, the kids loved it. There's a large museum to look round, large softplay area, climbing walls, train rides, vintage fair ride and finally a gift shop. Plenty to see and do with lots going on.

We attended the Road, Rail and Ale event. Fantastic show. Lots to see and do. Great value for money. Beer reasonably priced too. Also did the “driver for a fiver” and drove a steam engine! Great place to visit.
