Absolutely Beautiful! To Think We Can Walk Over A Piece Of History. The views From Each Side Of The Bridge Of Breathtaking. Step Onto The Bridge In England, And Step Off Into Scotland At The Other Side. There Is A Beautiful Walk Along The River Side Toward Paxton House. The Trail Does End Along The Riverside, But Just A Quick Hop Over A Stile And Through The Wall Into A Beautful Wooded Area, The Path Continues To Take You Along The Riverside By Paxton House.

Lovely place to visit. Great photo opertunities, unique experience being able to walk over such an iconic bridge. There are lovely walks along the riverside, and should you need a break, the Chain Bridge Honey Farm is just a short stroll from the bridge, where refreshments are available.

This little place is well worth a visit and a drive over this beautiful bridge which has recently been refurbished. Not to mention the wonderful chain honey farm up the road within a walk distance and some lovely river walks by the look of it too. There's a great cafe at the farm and a little gift shop making your visit almost a day out and thoroughly enjoyable.

Quite a cool little Bridge however you cannot get through if your car is particularly wide. On one side is England and on the other side is a Scottish border which is a great picture opportunity. It's a very Scenic area with lots of views and worth a visit.why not visit the local bee farm which is just up the road from this location and is also free.

Quaint old 'modern' bridge, seems bigger than you expect it to from the photos. Looks so different in varying light at different times of the day. Maximum 1 vehicle at a time over the bridge, no more than 2 tonnes. If you are walking over the bridge when a car passes then you can really feel the bridge bouncing and rippling.

I mean, ultimately this is a bridge. It's pretty cool to see suspension bridges this old and in use. And one side is Scotland and the other is England so that's cool. Narrow and not good for heavy vehicles (2t+) but other than that all good. Nice surroundings and allowed me some good drone footage.

The bridge connected Scotland and England. It was made for horse carrying, but later vehicles as.well. it had undergone recent renovation and it can have one vehicle at a time. It is the first chain link bridge in Europe and the oldest vehicle carrying a bridge in the world. A must visit if in Berwick. Not far from the city.

Visited to see the bridge after the rebuilding had been completed. Looks great, much more solid and doesn't move when a car drives over. The area around the bridge is very tidy with a small parking area at each side. Well worth a visit.

A fantastic bit of engineering, you can drive across, 1 car at a time and with a 3T weight limit. There are no brown signs directing you to it. There are places to park so you can get out and walk over or under. There is an information board on the English side and a statute either side. Worth reading up about before visiting

Excellent the detail in the statues are amazing the work that has went into them alone never mind the bridge, watching the heron ducks and fish from the bridge was amazing. The restoration of the bridge is fantastic. Well worth a visit.

A piece of history in the Scottish Borders. Nice to be able to walk over the Tweed passing from England to Scotland and back again. Not a lot to do but admire the recent rebuilt bridge back in action.

Well worth the short diversion from the A1 to view this engineering marvel straddling the Engkand/Scotland border. We had our picnic lunch on the benches on the English side and walked across to Scotland.

Historic suspension bridge. Elegantly spans the river Tweed near Paxton House which is just walking distance away. The bridge is weak, and limits traffic by weight and by width, with width restricting bollards at the approach on both sides. It is a classically elegant bridge, deserving of a visit for anyone interested in historic British architecture. We loved it. 😎 👍 👍 👍

We have visited the area in the last couple of years and seen the bridge being restored. Today I walked over it. It is a truly amazing structure.

An old bridge. One side is in England the other is in Scotland. Beautifully restored in 2023. Must visit if you are in Berwick.

We combined our visit to the bridge with a visit to the Chan Bridge Honey Farm, where we parked and visited the green bus cafe and the honey museum and shop. The bridge is such a great structure well worth viewing combined with a walk along the bank of the Tweed.

Not well known but the very first chain bridge built in 1820. Spans the River Tweed joining England with Scotland xx beautiful position and wonderful walks

Great place. Would recommend you go as it's just great. Although the honey farm is a bit expensive and it definitely isn't a full day thing. It's a filler for a few hours before you move onto to other places such as Paxton House.

A lovely area with enjoyable walks on both sides of the river to Horncliffe, Paxton (via Paxton House Gardens), and all the way back to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Lots of wildlife around too which makes it more interesting for the little ones.
