Lovely old ruins of great historical importance in an idyllic setting. Free entry with no set hours. Sadly some children were allowed by their parents (?) to clamber over the ruins....😰....Google maps now brings you to the correct (free) parking place. Not a great amount of room to park (15 or so cars?). Great place with real atmosphere to spend probably up to an hour.

Off the beaten track but close enough to Farnham to warrant a quick visit, plus it's free, so why not? Interesting site that evokes slightly sad emotions standing in the ruins of a once impressive abbey. There is parking nearby, and a short walk along a path at the side of a picturesque lake will lead you to the site.

I visited Waverley Abbey earlier this year. It was great to walk and touch the ruins. Sat under the tree, I bet it has a few million story’s to tell. Felt peaceful walking around and you can get a feel of what the building would had looked like then. There is information provided which helps you understand the history a little better. Defiantly a place to visit, my partner and I really enjoyed the day.

Beautiful grounds, and a nice little walk to get to the site. A few walls and buildings left to vote, some decent signage with good information. Word of warning though, the car park can fit a maximum of about 10 vehicles, and there is nowhere else close by to park. Be prepared to wait on weekends.

The cafe was closed but even so the grounds and the Abbey are a great spot to visit. And if I was younger I'd have been climbing the yew tree!

A Cistercian abbey ruins within a short walking distance from an allocated car park on the river bank. Free entry. It is worth a visit on a nice sunny day.

An absolutely lovely set of ruins. It's incredibly quiet and there's so many lovely spots to sit and picnic around them. Perfect place to take your camera and take some fabulous photos! (Be aware that there are a lot of dog walkers passing through the space so if you're not fond of dogs, you won't have much luck here. Most of them are on leads but that's not a guarantee nor will you know what dogs are around on any day!)

Great day out, perfect for picnic and a look around not a huge amount of parking so go early. Also not a big site. Maybe a few hours here. But Abey 1066 just a few mile further 😊👍

Very interesting and full of history. Nice café at the house over the bridge. There is a very old yew tree almost 500 years old.

This little hidden gem is nestled just a few minutes from Farnham high street but represents a completely different world that existed 1000 years ago! The premiise is well sign posted and there's cafe across the moat that serves cake and tea. Highly underrated and definitely worth a visit.

Waverley Abbey is a ruin, there is not much left of the once magnificent building. All the same it’s an interesting local beauty spot which has been nicely presented with various information points to explain what the building would have looked like, how it was used, and its demise. There is a beautiful tree growing over one of the walls which children love to climb. There is also some WW2 artefact’s to be found - dragons teeth and a gun emplacement. Car park can be busy, but there are some other beauty spots near by, so come back or park elsewhere and walk in. Accessibility is not great. Watch out for cowpats in the field before.

Nice place with small but free parking and not charge to go in, lovely place to do picnics and enjoy with family.

Free to visit, run by English Heritage, small car park then a short walk along a river path and you can spend a while looking round the ruins. Info boards to explain a little of the history and would make a great picnic spot just be sure to take your rubbish with you, let friends also welcome

a beautiful site, very quiet, very tranquil except if there are jobbos there playing loud music that shouldn't be. Also parking is limited. If you managed to park, you walk along the canal until you reach a turnstyle then to another gate into the British Heritage site. i've been there 4 times now.

Such a beautiful place. We were blessed with a sunny dry day. The walk to the ruins is lovely, take some duck and Swan food if you want to feed the birds on the river. I'm glad we visited at the suggestion of the photographer we visited in the same location. No tickets required.

I'm quite partial to some ruins and these did not dissapoint, we were lucky to have the place to ourselves for about half an hour before a couple more people showed up. The old Yew tree itself is worth the visit. Amazing to wander about these places and imagine how life must have been all that time ago.

We had a beautiful walk around the ruins and along the river. Beautiful scenery and nice that you can take your dog's as long as they are on a lead.

An English Heritage site. Waverley Abbey is steeped in history and interesting. Entry was free today. You need to walk through some fields to get to the Abbey, so it may be a bit wet underfoot. You could easily spend around 30 minutes admiring the ruins. So I would incorporate something else in the local area to make a day of it. There is no public toilets or café. Even though it's off the beaten track, it's worth having a look around.
