We went here last night for the first time and we will be coming back. The service was impeccable, and the food cooked fresh and served with passion and happiness. The homemade baklava topped it off for, and the homemade dips are enough to come back for. We had the mixed grill for 2, and everything was well marinated and delicious and great value for money!

This is the second time I've been here and I must say, I don't know why I don't go more regularly. We got complimentary starters, bread & olives, the food was absolutely excellent. The service was great and the waiters were very accommodating and polite. We also got a free rice pudding which was fantastic. Left the place feeling extremely full and thinking it was well worth the money. We went on a Sunday evening so it was rather quiet in there in terms of atmosphere but at the end of the day, we go for the food. I will be honest, I've been here and I've been to the olive tree twice now. I very much prefer the food here and its always beat my expectations. Absolutely delicious and they deserve far more custom in my opinion. Thanks guys.

Absolutely fabulous, we ordered the hot meze and the big meaty mezze for 2 people and we have 2 kids who can eat! Highly recommended, and we do try every Turkish we come across. Big open kitchen, colourful lamps, nice music choices. Excellent service, you really cannot fault them.

Very comforting place. Look and feel is nice and clean. The staff is very firendly and serve with a lovely smile. Service is excellent. Ordered lentil soup which was not the best I have ever had but the other two dishes, falafel and chicken shish were super. Chicken shish in particular was mouthwatering, it was fresh, tender, and very tasty. One of the best chicken shish I have had. Pricing was ok. All food items Halal. Parking available easily which is free on public holidays.

We had lunch here and food was exquisite. Lovely friendly service with excellent recommendations. Very allergy friendly. All the food was delicious and we loved the Apple tea as a palate cleanser and Turkish coffee to finish. Really recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

I recently dined at The Meldiz and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The food was absolutely fantastic and exceeded all expectations. The flavors, presentation and quality of each dish was top notch. However, what really stood out to me was the incredible hospitality from the staff. The friendly Turkish hospitality made me feel like a welcomed guest in their home. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to make sure my dining experience was exceptional. Overall, I highly recommend The Meldiz to anyone looking for outstanding food and exceptional service. You won't be disappointed!

Some of the most delicious food I’ve ever had!! The mix shish was FANTASTIC! The calamari was also amazing. The strawberry daiquiri was the best I’ve ever had. The owner is the kindest person and so generous. Hoping to eat here again on my trip soon!

I took my daughter for a celebratory end of school meal, to just say how proud I am of her for trying her hardest. She sampled some food from here before so wanted to go for a meal herself. The creamy chicken casserole is DELICIOUS! Also the Chicken Iskender. We also had a desert but my daughter dived straight in before I could grab a photo 😂 clearly delicious! (American brownie!) The portion sizes are huge! Very good value for money. Amazing atmosphere, the mood of the venue is the perfect vibe. Very relaxing. Top notch service. Melisa was our waitress and it felt as if she was our personal waitress even though she was attending other tables. A very valued member of staff. The boss is very welcoming and friendly also. We look forward to coming back. X

First experience of this restaurant & I have attached a photo of the special we ordered for our group of four people. Some indecision by our family on starters & mains & we went for a bottle of Turkish red wine to share. We really enjoyed the food ( and the wine!) & only reason for not 5 stars is I cannot comment on the rest of the offerings on the menu!, staff were really helpful & friendly! I didn't try the draught Turkish lager or any other drinks available so again hopefully to be rectified in the near future!

Really nice people, great place and one-of-a-kind grill! Def try the falafel starter - truly delish! In fact, the starters were so good, I forgot to take pics! The lamb ribs (as pictured) were succulent and even the rice was cooked to perfection. Wish I wasn’t so full to try the desert. Oh well, next time!

Great flavoured charcoal infused food, cooked simply using clearly quality and fresh producers. Authentic cuisine with wonderful non intrusive service. Delicious healthy homemade deserts to finish. A perfect family meal enjoyed by all of us (my wife and kid)

We ordered the meldz special mix and the food was delicious, the best grill I've ever had in basingstoke. Splendid Turkish beer. Everything had flavor, everything was well seasoned. The owner was spectacular, he was interested in the customer and customer satisfaction. We’ll definitely gonna come back there. We literally felt at home.

Hospitable hosts, beautiful presentation, delicious dishes with Halal and Vegan options. I would like to come back here again for the kebabs and recommend this cozy restaurant to everyone.

Great first experience here so far, haven't got the time and chance to try them before due to lock down. Starrt off with atmosphere, dark and cosy as expected, and it is really spacious which is a bonus. The serving was quick and generous, the meat was tender, well cooked and nicely marinated. The server was nice and friendly, did a quick check up on how the food was as expected. He even changed our plates 🍽 between our courses which is a nice touch. Would highly recommended this place if you haven't try it out yet.

We went for a family lunch and were not disappointed. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The chef came out to chat about the menu and later to check that the food was good; this was a lovely touch that was then topped by him providing free slices of his freshly made baklava - which was heavenly! The food was freshly cooked, came in generous portions and was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were large, strong and tasty. Will we go back? Absolutely 100%, it was superb.

The staff were great with my toddler and put together a great meal for her. Our ordered were cooked exactly how we wanted. The price was really good and the food was great. We ate early evening avoiding the drunks rush for fast food. Would eat there again any time.

very dissapointed with the service , The food came 40mins late not only that the order was wrong too so had to wait more time for the right order and then i got charged for complimentary bread which every turkish restuarant give on the house ! I also got charged for the wrong order like seriously there must have been only 4 other people in the resturant it wasnt evan busy still the staff struggled to get the orders right and meals on time! I travelled from newbury to come to this place and really regret it!

The gentleman who served us, gave us his personal recommendation on the food and drinks which didn't disappoint us at all. If I'm back in and around Basingstoke, I'm definitely going back. Sadly didn't manage to take any pictures as I was enjoying my meal 🤤

Had my first experience at The Ottoman yesterday! Other towns such as Reading and Southampton have such varied choice when it comes to Turkish and Mediterranean food, something which Basingstoke has been lacking. The food was great. The courses came promptly, Our server made sure we was well looked after, the pricing is good for the quality and portions. Looking forward to dining again!
