Great place to visit. very informative about our history during world war 2 as housing for munitions workers then housing American troops for D-day then German POWs. The volunteers dressing up and taking the parts of those mentioned above. Well done all

Fabulous experience, a great place to visit. The volunteers have really pulled this off, organised to a high standard and a minefield of information. Well done!

Absolutely brilliant learning resource with so many curriculum links. The volunteers are all clearly passionate about the site and extremely knowledgeable. It is almost criminal that the local authority won't support the development of the site to make it available more often.

A good display with lots of information given. Did not appreciate the Petty Officer shouting at “Volunteers” who must be giving up their own time, but not to be shouted at. Was he trying to impress everyone.

Last surviving hut of a POW camp which held high ranking German officers (who staged and audacious, sometimes comedic, but ultimately futile mass escape). Now it’s surrounded by a palisade fence and is accessible only on occasion. I wouldn’t mind visiting it when circumstances allow. Full credit to the crew who look after it and carry out re-enactments there. WWII is not my era, but I’m glad there’s people prepared to put in the time to save our heritage. This would have been flattened in the 90s by the worst council leader Bridgend ever saw had his way. As it is, most of it’s gone.

Everyone should see this historic places. It has a fascinating history with great artwork drawn by the German prisoners. They have a website which will give you information on when you can visit and what facilities are available.

Really enjoyed my visit to this important World War Two prisoner of war camp. There are original examples of war items and reenactment presentations taking place.

One of the most informative and enjoyable days out I've had in a long time. Knowledgeable people sharing historical information which went far wider than the POW camp and the "great escape" with "in character" volunteers sharing their extensive knowledge and artifacts from the WW2 era.

A most informative and enjoyable time learning about local history with Brett & the team, who are very knowledgeable not just about the hut but the wider area. Who knew Bridgend played a key role during WW2 regarding munitions! I'm not going to spill all the details, instead book yourself onto a tour.

Brilliant Experience, very educational and the presenter of the talk was excellent, kids also enjoyed seeing prisoners dressed up and the huts all equipped like it was. Volunteer staff extremely friendly - should be open all the time - would like to go again.
