    I traveled all the way from London to buy a Vw Golf in White reg number DA70YJH, I spoke to Simon initially and he told me the car is immaculate. Never had any paint work and it’s going to go through the 149 point check and if anything needs doing to it he will get it rectified when I got there the car was parked outside, I noticed that the driver-side door and wing had been painted very badly over spray and over run on the paint. I went inside to the dealership, and I asked for Harry who was dealing with me a gentleman by the name of the Mat said he’s busy, so I mentioned to him this car has had paint work. He replied and said so you don’t want to buy the car anymore. I said to him, you guys made me drive all the way from London don’t you want to come outside with me and go round the car so I could point out to you where its had paint work. He wasn’t too bothered about it. He was rude and arrogant. Eventually came outside. We went over the car and he said I’m really really sorry we didn’t see this. I pointed out that even the rear tire had a split in it I said to him doesn’t your car go through a 149 point check as you stated. He replied, and said yes, it does but they don’t check the paint work. I was very frustrated. He said it doesn’t matter. If you don’t want it, we will sell it to someone they probably wouldn’t even realize that the car has had paint work, I was very shocked at his response. My advice for anyone buying a car from them would be be very careful and do not trust them. They are a bunch of cowboys including Patrick who knows really well what is going on in his dealership he tried to sympathize with me, but that wasn’t good enough. I wasn’t even offered tea or coffee when I arrived at the showroom. Matt, you have a lot to learn especially how to deal with customers and how to treat them.

    AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! I WAS RECENTLY DUPED INTO PURCHASING A VW ARTEON WITH HIDDEN DAMAGE AND NOW THEY WONT REPLY!?!? I wish I had read past reviews as this isn't their First time! You should also read the reviews from the Hartwell-Head Office. Which are non-existent at this point as they wont respond! Looking at Hartwells marketing and their 145-Point check I took their word that the car was sound. Since purchasing I had a series of issues with the vehicle that I ended up getting sorted myself to save time i.e. Over-Heating, Nasty smells inside the cabin. However what I cannot look over is the hidden damage and poor repairs. The vehicle was so GLOSSED UP that the average person would not be able to see these. HOWEVER after the shiny gloss wore off you could clearly see the hidden damage and poor repairs on the Rear Wheel Arch and Front Left. (Perhaps this is why they didn't show these areas in the still pictures on Autotrader). I had this looked at by a paint body specialist who confirmed it had 100% had a poor repair, where they have just sprayed over the damage! Now before purchasing I specifically asked whether the vehicle had any prior damage (let alone current damage) and the answer was NO! so how do you price/value this vehicle as high as a vehicle without damage???? You are causing me a Great Deal of Distress!!! If I don't hear back within 3 Working Days I will contact the Financial Ombudsman. Failing to come to a resolution we can go to court. Everything is documented, I've waited long enough! Mr Akhtar

    Absolute bunch of cowboys at this place! I purchased a model 3 from here a couple of weeks ago, but right from the start I knew this wasn't going to be a great experience and I should have walked away. Unfortunately for me, they offer one of the best interest rates around, the car prices were pretty good, and I decided it was worth the effort. I initially found a Model 3 Performance that I liked but due to the incompetence of the staff on site, I was given incorrect information about securing it with a deposit, I wasn't getting my calls returned, and even after putting in an application for finance, I was made to wait over 5 hours for a call (no other sales person would help) in which time both of the Model 3 Performance they had in stock were reserved. Despite being told that no car is reserved until you put a deposit down, my deposit was then refused because the sales person didn't call me back for 5 hours, and had let someone else take the car for a test drive which meant they jumped the queue for first refusal! At this time, I had already done a hard credit check, I didn't want to have to do another one elsewhere so walking away now wasn't really an option. They had another Model 3 I liked the look of, I asked about the condition and was told it was excellent, so I put a deposit down. I put the deposit down on a Friday afternoon but was told I can't collect on a Saturday or Sunday, the Tuesday would be too late and they'd put the car back up for sale if I didn't collect on the Monday. I managed to make the Monday free so I got on a train and Travelled 130 miles to walk into a showroom and be presented with a filthy car! Not only that, it had a faulty camera, mismatched tyres on the same axle, a faulty tail light, a barely working rear camera, missing charging cables, and various other issues. At this point I was really contemplating walking away, but after 5 hours travelling, and no way to get home, I decided to see what we could agree on. Basically I was told they don't deal with Tesla so take it or leave it! After some discussions, they did agree in writing to cover the costs of repairs should Tesla not cover it under warranty, so although a little reluctant still, I agreed to sign for the car. In their defence, Hartwell agreed to swap the mismatched tyre but everything else would need to be done in my own time, and at my own expense. Lastly, It was implied that I should take the cosmetic insurance because "How would they know the damage you're claiming for was already there" So they also suggest committing a bit of insurance fraud is a good idea, I don't agree, so didn't take any extra insurance. Fast forward 2 weeks, Tesla have fixed 2 faulty cameras, 2 door seals, both upper control arms, and even taken care of a recall that the dealer hadn't checked for. I appreciate I took a big risk with this one but I'd had previous experience with Tesla, I was aware of common problems, and i knew I'd not likely have any issues getting everything fixed. A complaint has been raised with both the Manager and head office, but so far the general manager has ignored my email, and head office have said "You could have chosen to not take the car" This is of course true, and is not in dispute. I can only assume that Hartwell are happy with this sort of service, they're happy with the lying, they're fine with selling cars with faults and outstanding recalls, and they're ok with the insurance fraud suggestions from the sales team. Be very careful when buying from this particular dealership! *EDIT* The response from Hartwell is yet another lie, they haven't made contact again and I doubt they will. The one and only email from their head office ignored most of my complaint, told me that they have no idea what issues the dealer was aware of (I have it in writing) and that they can't actually verify any of the issues (I have a paper trail for everything) so there's nothing they're willing to do to make things right.

    I would like to say I am very happy and was pleasantly surprised at the amazing service I have received both from purchasing my used car to the service department. The Sales Executive was Sven. He was very friendly, polite and helpful but what I liked most was that he was not pushy or using the typical ‘sales talk’ which was nice. He listened and made sure I was happy and buying the vehicle that would be suitable for me and explained everything in detail and so did not feel rushed. There were a couple of small things that needed repairing under the warranty and I felt reassured as there was no issue with ordering the parts. Toni and Craig in the service department arranged for the work to be carried out at a convenient time. All in all I feel really comfortable and happy with the super customer service I have received so far. All staff provide fantastic service with a smile. I will definitely be using Hartwell again and will highly recommend them even though they are not my local dealer it is worth the journey to receive good service. Thank you Hartwell.

    I personally believe all used car dealers should follow the business model of Hartwell. Best experience I have ever had buying a car, they know it’s the little things that count. I love my car and when it’s time I’ll be knocking on the door of this truly professional group.

    It was a pleasure buying our Volvo from Sven, he's very accommodating, sent us a few extra videos and photos of the car and answered all the questions. The whole process was easy and clear including their warranty. We are very happy with our car and with the whole process. Thank you! I would highly recommend the dealership and Sven for any of your car needs.

    Amazing customer service ! I have recently just bought a car at hartwell. Sven who served me was extremely helpful in the process and answered any question I had. He took me on a test drive and showed me all the features of the car. I didnt feel pressured whats so ever and the whole process was very smooth . I part exchanged my old car and he made the process so simple for me. I am very happy with the service I received from sven and I will be definitely coming back in the future to purchase more cars. Thank you hartwell and thank you sven, you're an asset to the company:)

    I recently purchased a Golf GTD from Hartwell which included trading in my old car. Sven was incredibly helpful, polite and knowledgeable, ensuring all stages in the process were explained clearly and honestly. He’s a genuinely lovely guy and just what you’d hope for when making such a purchase. I had concerns over the condition of the alloys and this was dealt with efficiently by Hartwell who arranged to have all 4 reconditioned to an immaculate specification. All in all I only have good things to say about my experience with Sven and Hartwell. Given the low APR rates and excellent customer service I think I know where I’ll be going for my next car.

    Really great customer service, dealt with Sven. The car i initially came to view, i was not particularly happy with the car rims, he listened to my complaint offered to see if they could be a deal regarding / different car. Listened to my requirements on what i want ideally and i was able to leave that same day with an alternative car purchased. Highly recommend the team and will definitely return in future when the time comes. Really helpful, calls were answered promptly, and they actually want to help every way they possibly can. Sven offered to get me from train station to help my commute to the dealership, and many more personalised customer service was delivered.

Jon was helpful, approachable and responsive through the process of getting the car. Everything was explained to me and everyone I have spoken to was extremely friendly.     Well I found the 2nd car of my dreams in Hartwell Garage 😂 not sure what my 1st is yet....one day I will get my dream car. I cant complain about this garage. From the minute I rang Alwyn he keep me updated on the car we had seen and fell in love with. The part-ex and financial side of things were really quick. Great rates of APR than most garages. All the guys in there were amazing and helpful. Not many questions to ask as they fully gave me all the info. I'm now driving around in a beautiful car within 2 days of buying it.     AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone and I will never do business with them ever again. If you are reading this I would strongly advise you to do the same. If it were possible to provide a zero star rating then I certainly would, 1 star is generous. Extremely poor post sales care and communication even from senior management team. No empathy shown during problems within 4 months of buying a car which caused great stress for weeks on end. If you are talked into buying a car, I strongly suggest you get a third party to check the car over fully top to bottom before driving it away. Their however many hundred checks they do is certainly not adequate or accurate. I was sold a car supposedly with a full manufacturers warranty and after a third party investigation it turned out the warranty was void. Patrick and the team did very little to help and claimed this was not a big issue and was not their fault with some very condescending and dismissive emails. It is very worrying that this sort of company is allowed to continue selling cars! Very untrustworthy dealership.

    We went in to have a look at some cars a couple of weeks ago as we were unsure what we wanted and didn't know where to start. We were helped by Harry who was absolutely brilliant at his job and super knowledgeable and helpful. He helped us find something that suited our needs and spent a lot of time with us making sure everything was sorted. He's always very helpful and quick to respond to any queries, even after purchase.     I am extremely impressed with the service I received. Sven was fantastic from start to finish. I called to see if the car was available which it was. One hour later I arrived at the garage and it was out front waiting for me, condition of the car was great given age and mileage. Sven was very informative about the car whilst on the test drive. I couldn’t have asked more from him. Whilst filling out the paperwork I mentioned how I never had enough range left (I was moving away from an EV back to a petrol car) Sven even offered the faster charger they had available so I could add the miles to get back home. Highly recommend and will look at coming back for my next change in car.

    Where do I start. They wouldn't let me collect at the weekend or the week after due to it being a new month?? Subsequently collected in the dark and took their description in good faith. 41k Car and they wanted to charge me 300 quid to get 2 alloys refurbed which was meant to be "trade" price....Interior trims are loose, spoiler is loose, found 2 dents, a windscreen which has a chip that has cracked and cannot be repaired so needs to be replaced. They eventually gave me 150 towards the 500 I've had to pay as a "good will gesture". Very poor service, very poor management, please avoid and buy elsewhere.

    I was looking to change my electric car and called in on spec to view my options. I had looked at cars on line so knew what my options could be. I was greeted by Sven who said he would be about 10 mins, so I had a look round the cars I had been looking at on line. After speaking to Sven, I ended up buying a new car, exchanging my old one, sorting out finance all in one go. Sven was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I am really pleased with my purchase!!!

    We have just bought a Hyundai Tucson through Harry at Hartwell. He was extremely proficient, accommodating and helpful.
