Definitely amazing place to learn skiing ⛷️ did level 1 & 2… staff are polite and helpful. Everything is great, just my only complaint I have is with the cafe they have. Found the staff working slow and waiting for a drink of coffee to get served took around 20 minutes! And only one member of staff in cafe! Had very little time since we were booked in for skiing.

Took my daughter and friend here today. Very good value for money. No kit required apart from WARM CLOTHING, don’t send your daughter here without Gloves, a coat, suitable footwear🫢 As it’s fake snow the temperatures are sub zero, also snow will go on your clothes, mainly legs, bum and hands. So if your possible wear waterproof items and wellies/boots. We had the sledging part all to ourselves. Which was good, after a quick brief on how to sit/ride the sledge we were off at our own devices. You have to carry your sledge to the top of the “hill” and sledge down. 45 mins was more than enough and if your kids are cold they’ll be glad to leave earlier. Staff were great and the venue is cool with all the skiing, snowboarding going on at the same time.

Had a fabulous 1.5 hour beginner lesson with James. James was fantastic, really patient and an all round great instructor, with lots of doing and not too much talking. Would highly recommend visiting, even for first timers like us!

Great session at snowzone. We had our 1st skiing lesson, got to grips with the basics. We are a family of 5, we have never been skiing before. I would be tempted to have more lessons if we lived closer. Obviously it's an expensive hobbie, but we enjoyed our 1st taste of skiing.

INCREDIBLE, great coaches who are very helpful along every stop of your journey and will support you no matter what. Absolutely loved my day here. The slope was incredible as was just like being in the mountains. It also has great value for money. Would go again 100% recommend

We had our daughters 5th birthday here today and it was fabulous! While we initially had issues booking the party itself was fab. Michelle went out of her way to help and make the party fantastic. All the children had a fabulous time and we will defo return in the future!!

Indoor real snow ski slope. 160m in length (so shorter than some of the other indoor slopes in the country) and also narrower. Top half has a gradient of 15 degrees, bottom half is 10 degrees. Very easy for beginners to handle but you should be able to link turns to use the slope. If you have never skied before than you would have to book a lesson. Lift passes are more expensive compared to other centers in region. I never had a course here but I see hard working instructors. Ski equipment is okay. Snow quality is average, patches of ice here and there. Also not as atmospheric. The cream colored walls give it a dull look. Still 5 stars lol because it is very accessible for me and enjoy going there.

Great once you're on the slopes. Good facilities to spectate, cafe area. There never seems to be enough staff to sort out hired equipment. This can take up to 30 minutes, so allow time before your booked slot, or this will eat into your skiing time. Especially if just starting out.

Midweek trip, the place was very quiet. Great time to go. Lots of runs managed. Lovely, helpful staff. Everywhere was clean and tidy.

I had my sons 10th birthday party here. It was fantastic the manager Laura went over and above to ensure my son and his friends had the best time. Food and drinks where excellent and the boys had a great time! Highly recommended

So fun!!! I had a day ski lesson with and really do feel like I have learned and progressed a lot. I am a snowboarder, but thanks to Richard G, he annoyingly made me question which I prefer (not really… but kind of). He was super super helpful and gave me so many simple tips to learn from. He’s a really kind guy and is super approachable if you have a question. If you do something wrong, he WILL tell you, but gives you excellent advice in return. Thank you Richard G, you’ve really helped a lot. (Also, the slope is really great and it does feel like real snow)

I've done my 1234 snowboarding and then had a 90 min private lesson with Alan (the Irish one) which was fantastic. At the start of my private lesson I'd forgotten everything from my 1234 and had to go back to basics but Alan was a brilliant coach and got me back up to the top of the big slope in 30 minutes.

I recently had the pleasure of taking snowboard lessons at Snozone in Castleford, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The instructor were knowledgeable and patient, and he really took the time to ensure that I understood the techniques that were being taught to me. Snowzone itself is pretty amazing - it's Europe's largest indoor real snow resort. The facilities are top-notch and the atmosphere is electric. The staff were always smiling and happy to help with anything I needed. Overall, I would highly recommend taking snowboard lessons at Snozone in Castleford to anyone looking to improve their skills on the slopes. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced rider, the team at Snozone will help you to progress and have a great time doing it. Can't wait to come back for more!

Went with a group of friends a couple of months after our first skiing holiday . We were at a decent level and got to the point where we were confident with lifts during this holiday . As soon as we got into the centre one of my friends lost his footing when he got onto the lift and wasn’t given any help by any staff who looked over in a judgy manner . We then went down the slope for the first time and at the bottom we were pretty much told to leave after barely being able to get warmed up . We were told we’d get a refund which we didn’t , and only ended up getting about 20 seconds of skiing in . Staff were rude and unhelpful , didn’t offer any help or advice and blatantly lied to us about being refunded seemingly to get rid of us as soon as possible. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone who doesn’t want their confidence completely shattered by these arrogant staff members making snarky comments . Complete waist of £40 .

Took kids between 7 and 8 sledging. Really friendly staff and a fun experience. Perfect amount of time before you start getting cold. Went and chilled in the bar after and can watch through windows and enjoy a drink. Great laugh for families!

Recently went back to do lessons again after not skiing for 9 years. Max B was a brilliant instructor and gave me some great advice. Also the staff helping with boots and ski’s were really friendly and efficient.

Did the beginners day course with Steve - he was a great instructor! Liked the fact that the learner slope was opposite the ‘real’ slope instead of by the side. Would definitely recommend!

We booked onto a beginners skiing session 1&2 before our trip to Morzine this Christmas and our instructor Maddie was absolutely fantastic. So professional, patient and kind in her approach to teaching us and made us feel totally at ease the whole time. We are at 3/4 standard after 3 hours with her! Would definitely recommend going here before your first skiing trip as helps you get to grips with the simple things like learning to put your skis on and navigation/ technique.

Lovely, friendly staff. The kids loved the sledging. Lots of supervision and support on the slope. The only thing was the half hour session goes too fast when you are having so much fun.

We have been here before, but since we last went, they have had a huge update. It was still very, very impressive. You could easily spend a whole weekend in the whole centre. Snozone was brilliant. We went prepared this time, already dressed to go into the snow, rather than getting dressed there. We had our clothes to change into in lockers, you will need a £1 coin for these. The changing facilities are very good, they have showers, lockers, mirrors etc. Extremely clean. We went into the snozone in snow trousers/walking trousers, base layers, fleeces/sweat tops, snow jackets/ puffers and snowboots or walking boots and finally really good gloves. You pick up a xs/s/m or l safety helmet before you enter the snow. The air temperature is -5. We had 4 adults and 1 child on the slopes sledging, you get 30 minutes on the slopes, a very brief explanation on what to do and not to do....enjoy it...we did. We will definitely be back...AGAIN!!! 🎿👌👏

Often attend this place. NHS for free 2hrs each week is a huge bonus for me, i travel just over an hour to visit but don’t get to go very often. Nice slope, staff are generally friendly and relaxed. Attentive when there is an incident. Sometimes when waiting for a snowboard to hire, I’ve been left waiting around 5-10mins with nobody on the stand which is frustrating however you can use demo boards at The Snowboard Asylum Shop next door to it. Hot chocolates are the one thing I would love to be improved here. Usually taste wazzy, not very chocolatey

We took our kids for a full day lesson. We arrived and got them kitted out with what appears to my inexperienced eyes to be solid quality equipment. Once on the slope, they quickly started to get the hang of things. They ended the day skiing slowly but confidently down the full slope. This experience will be a big help in getting them skiing quickly if we ever get to go proper skiing.

Quite a nice slope to ski on. The upper half is steeper and the lower half is flatter. There are a couple of jumping spots, as well as an area for beginners and children. There's usually no queue for the lift or the queue is small (up to 3 minutes). There's a cafe at the entrance from which you can watch the riders (but you can't go in from the snow).

Good experience but I think sledging is definitely more for the kids. sledges are tiny and you only get a tiny section of the slope to use near the bottom.

Thank you so much to Steve, who was an excellent instructor and made my first ever skiing experience so enjoyable! I can't wait to come back and tackle the slope from the top! The facilities were great from a beginners perspective, and all the staff were really friendly and helpful.

The facilities are great and most slope and coaching team are friendly, Caitlin was a stand out member of staff offering great customer service . Sometimes have complications and issues with bookings/ membership but in general a great place to visit

You now have to pay £4 just to get in but they say it is a deposit. However you cannot claim this back, you cannot get alcohol drinks with it, only crisps or cake. This to me is not a deposit its is store credit so to speak

Today was our first visit to snozone and was so much fun, including the grandparents😜. Charlie the instructor was so helpful, supporting our grandson up the slopes with his sledge, repairing the fencing when us grandparents kept crashing into it and lending my grandson her gloves when his hands got cold. Her customer service was outstanding, looking forward to our next visit.

Worst management I have ever had to deal with, save you money and just go to chill factor. Terrible customer service with people who genuinely seem to have zero knowledge of skiing and a distain for being helpful.

Quiet in the evening . My family had a lesson with a very good instructor Andrew . Staff all very friendly and the place is well organised . Nice beginner slope with rope lift and main slope has 2 parts . Good for getting you ready for the slopes

Never normally write reviews but the customer service here was excellent. We were delayed by a motorway closure and one call to, the very helpful, John had our booking rescheduled. On arrival the reception staff helpfully delayed our booking again to allow us time for delicious food at the Alpine Bar (also super friendly staff). The boot room staff were (you guessed it) super friendly and helpful and then we had the slope almost to ourselves. Perhaps it’s because we’re miserable Southerners and not used to Northern hospitality but all in all, a great end to a rubbishy day stuck on the M1. Thanks!!

A very solid, positive experience. There are definitely areas that could be improved, such as the snow on the lift is often a little thin, and the rental boards are aimed only at beginners. But generally, a really good place to go, to keep your hand in, between seasons.

  • 5/5 Stephanie D. 2 years ago on Google
Great place to learn to ski or snowboard, or to practice if youre already a pro. 2 slopes for all different abilities. Lessons available. Fantastic place to burn some energy and sledging available for little people. I took my niece and nephew who were 3 that day they loved it.
