if you ever end up being On labour ward level D when preparing for baby delivery, make sure you don't let Margaret take care of your baby as she comes across very nice and sweet and then she turns to this toxic midwife trying to make you think like you're saying or doing bad things to her. please please AVOID AVOID.

A leading hospital covering a huge array of disciplines in medicine. Parking is quite simple and reasonably priced. There’s multiple places to eat and many staff on hand to help you find your way around this large hospital. Adam :)

Wish I could give this more stars but PAH made what should have been a wonderful time the most traumatic and stressful situation. Doctors and (some) Midwives have zero empathy or compassion and in certain situations I would say they were negligent. Thankfully both my son and myself are OK thanks only to the Neonatal Unit nurses and doctors and the midwives on Lyndhurst Ward. Maybe I was unlucky and got the one bad midwife out of a good bunch, but I think some staff here might need to rethink their career choice. How this place was rated good by the CQC I have no idea, but I will be passing my complaints on to them and PALs directly to look into.

I can't begin to describe the experience I had here. After an AWFUL labour, lack of information for my first baby during the delivery process I then had Black mould in the seals of my hospital room, dripping windows and a cold room with no heating. I felt AWFUL while in this room, I had a cough for several days after leaving hospital, I've reported it but nothing has come of it. DON'T CHOOSE HERE.

Disgusting is the only word that describes this hospital. My wife has stayed twice recently and there is a catalogue of failings. She wasn't fed for 2 days, nurses are extremely rude, matron backs them up even though they are under investigation. Pain medication is always late if at all, apparently paracetamol is the answer to everything. Discharge notes on leaving don't match the stay as if it is the wrong patients details we were given. Every doctor that does the rounds thinks they are 'it' and change treatment plans without any consultation and make decisions on health with no tests being done. If you can avoid it, stay away.

This hospital doesn't deserve not even one star. I gave birth to my twins here and honestly I'm sorry I did not chose another hospital. I shall leave here some pictures of one of the twins who was taken to neonatal unit and gave him the worst treatment ever. Burned skin due to overstaying under uv lamp, heel prick test performed many times due to and I quote one of the midwifes " oh the machine we have for testing doesn't work properly so we came for another sample" and tried 5 times for an iv drip on that tiny hand. When asked about this they sent me a so called doctor who didn't answer my questions. I know is a teaching hospital but don't allow them for students to practice on your babies. Incompetents. That's the sum up of these people who work here. Some of the midwifes are OK but not all. Avoid at all cost!!!

Went for an ovarian scan today. Lady who performed (not sure what title she had) was rude and treated me like I was stupid. Would not reply to my legit questions while she was performing the scan. When I asked if my ovary looked ok she replied:"It looked like it was expected to look". When I asked her if all was ok, she replied:" NO, it's not ok! You have a cyst". (I have had this cyst for 5 years) What kind of replies are these? Who do you think you are. I'm going to file a formal complain

My daughter delivered her baby here today every single member of the staff were caring from the anaesthetists Dr's midwives and support staff were amazing it got a bit scary but we were all reassured. Having worked for another local trust for 41 years these guys totally outshone them.Totally professional throughout. Thank you so much keep doing what youre doing .from an eternally grateful nanny.

Midwives at this hospital plotted injury to my patient depending on when they would see her alone. They did what they had planned for her. In February 2023, my patient had appointment in E level of this Princess Anne Hospital for the injury caused. We were forced to wait in an office opposite the reception instead of patient waiting area where everyone was sat. A very dramatic, very rude, fat, white woman asked how many kids my patient have. When I replied she barked saying Your House Is Full. IS THIS THE NHS I AM PAYING FOR??? You have employed people with bad attitude in both levels E and D.

Incredible service and patient care given to me whilst staying on the F4 spinal ward. After receiving emergency spinal surgery the care could not have been better. All of the staff were very accommodating and attentive. Meals were fantastic. Great choice and plenty of options with 24 hour food service if required. But a special shout out and we'll done to my carer Monica for being so incredibly kind not just to myself but to all of the patients. She came on to shift everyday with the most incredible cheerfulness. Always willing to help and spoke to everyone with dignity and respect. She's one in a million. Thank you. 😊

My wife came here for a routine mammogram and says the experience wouldn't have been better in a private hospital, she was the only patient in the department and the radiographer was so caring and attentive. Top marks for the NHS, would recommend them to everyone and thanks so much.

I had a hysterectomy on 12th Feb and the care I received from everyone involved was amazing, I was sent home after 3 days to recover at home and unfortunately I was taken back in 2 weeks later with complication and for the next 5 days I was looked after so well, nothing was ever too much for them, So a massive thank you to everyone who looked after me, from the pre op team, surgical team, doctors, broadlands ward, helpers, cleaners, caterers if I missed anyone thank you x

Short wait, helpful BUT please put list of departments in lift. I went to 4 different floors because I had to get out of lift to check what departments were on which floor. On a subsequent visit I had to wait 40 minutes for a disabled parking space. One again NO LIST OF WHAT IS ON EACH FLOOR IN LIFT. Surely it isn't too much to ask! 3 other people lost too.

I can't speak highly enough of our experience at this hospital. Twice in 2 years. The Children's Kidney team were absolutely incredible and my daughter is still in the Paeds Medical Unit G2 for a viral pneumonia. The team work so hard, do unpaid overtime with joy, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Consultant Helen was just so so good, Emma M in Paeds was extraordinary for a young nurse, the night team of Zitran and Guiseppe made a rough night so smooth and their professionalism was awe-some. We are so lucky. Thank you all.

I gave birth at Princess Anne in October 2021 and they were incredible. My obstetrician, Dr Connor was so knowledgeable, attentive and caring that I felt right at home through the entire surgery. I could not have asked for a more capable and skilled surgeon. Thank you Dr Connor for everything you did to ensure I had the birth I needed and for ensuring the best possible start to my sons life! I hope I am blessed enough to have you as my obstetrician again. I have to say a big thank you to Robyn Y. for all her support as my midwife and in the hospital. I would not have survived without her. I had some serious mental health issues and she listened attentively, was a great source of comfort and sorted out everything to ensure my mental health was taken as seriously as my physical. Thank you Robyn for making this experience a happy one! I am counting on you for baby two. I also must give credit to the amazing birthing and post natal wards. They were so attentive and caring. I had some issues with pain management post birth and they were right on it with support and checking in. A massive thank you to Becky R. and Kerry W. for all your support and care. I am so grateful to have had you both helping me through that time and would like to request you for my next birth please! The breast feeding support was attentive and timely. Every member of the team was very reassuring (which all first time parents need!) and keen to ensure I was getting all the support I needed. This included mental health support, which they took extremely seriously and for which I could not be more grateful. I have to say a big thank you to Rachel W. for her help during pregnancy, at the hospital and postnatally with my mental health and well being. I would not have made it through without your kind and supportive words and guidance - thank you Rachel!

Breast imaging unit is brilliant - staff are so caring, patient and flexible, all procedures done in just one clinic appointment and no pain during or following my biopsy, I don't believe private health care would be better or faster to deliver results.

I gave birth to my premature daughter here at 23 weeks, She passed away 3 hours after she died, once I was ready to go home they refused me a cold cot as I didn’t live in the city they also refused me transfer to another hospitals so I would be closer to home (I was 4 hours away from home) the maternity consultant laughed at my partner when he was balling his eyes out telling him to man up. After I tried to get a cold cot again they made my partner go to TESCO and buy frozen peas and suggesting they we use a cardboard box to transport her home in using the peas as a kind of ice pack. Absolutely disgusting care of premee mothers and they said that they would all my paper work transfers to the hospital local to me and that never happened. I got no check ups afterwards no care nothing. Absolutely disgusting care. The head midwife was the only one of the only ones that treated me with proper care.

Today I took a daughter in law for a scan and check up since she's pregnant. At the reception we showed the referral papers from the Emergency department of the General hospital to a young man named Joseph. I asked him if we needed to go the level down since remembered that on the ground floor there was a unit for early pregnancy but he insisted that the process has been changed so we ended up waiting for a half an hour to find out that he was wrong. An indifference of the staff is unbelievable!

My daughter was born just over a month ago in the Princess Ann. All of the staff were so friendly and professional. It made such a massive difference to my wife and I to feel so well supported and cared for. It was clear that some staff were just exhausted, having to make up shifts with so many colleagues shielding/in quarantine and yet they manage to put so much energy into creating a safe and positive environment. I cannot over emphasis how grateful my family and I are to you guys. Thank you so much.

I had the worry of attending the hospital for treatment and was treated exceptionally well Mr Constable-Phelps and a verylovely nurse ( sorry I didn't get your name) whomafe me feel very relaxed. Everything was explained very clearly and I was involved in the decisio4n of treating or watch and wait. Obviously, going to hospital is not something we choose to have to do, but my experience today was nothing but exceptional.

I haven't been to the Princess Anne for around 3 yrs and had forgotten just what a lovely, reassuring place it is. There is something soothing for very frayed nerves to be surrounded by other women all kind and pleasant, all sympathetic to female health worries. Girl power at it's best! Brilliant!

Basset ward.. Standard of care is extremely poor. Staff rude and unhelpful. Very dirty . Very sad place to have to leave a dying father.

I'm quite disappointed. I was unable to attend my appointment and left a voicemail to rebook. No one got back to me which is fine, I understand they are busy. I called back today and asked about rebooking as didn't recieve call back (which is fine). The receptionist basically called me a liar and said I didn't leave a voicemail and that the line I'm calling them on doesn't accept voicemails?I'm confused, how did I manage to leave a voicemail.. :/ Maybe you don't have access to the voicemails or perhaps you haven't the time to get back to them? That's fine but certainly don't lie... I certainly did leave one. Rude receptionist, couldn't wait to get off the phone. I don't think I'll be coming here for the ultrasound, which is so unfortunate!! I double checked the number on my letter and it clearly states the number TWICE to call and cancel/reschedule, same number I called looking back on call history. It was definitely the same department I called today, really bizarre treatment. I put it down to the odd times we're in, still, unnecessary.

Exceptional care at SGH from Michael and Dr Abi in children's A&E. Thank you so much! It's also so nice to be in a nice clean room. I'm very grateful for the NHS!! I Know how much they're stretched and how hard they work.

I've had 3/4 of my births here and each one has been a great experience thanks to the staff and all their hard work. I couldn't fault a single thing. It's a brilliantly run hospital πŸ™‚

Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton delivered superb care during our son's birth. Initial assessment at Broadlands Birth Centre, attentive care during a challenging delivery at the Labour Ward, and diligent monitoring at the Burley Ward reflected the staff's exceptional professionalism. Despite a delay due to staff shortages and inconvenient parking, the team's unwavering commitment to our wellbeing was exemplary. Overall, we highly recommend Princess Anne Hospital for its outstanding maternity services.

Very rude reception staff very stern, no smile and no consideration I understand the policy of the rules but at least be respectful and nice. I wanted to see my daughter after her very long labour and ended up having a c section I understand only 2 birth partners to see her in recovery which was her partner and her sister, one at a time, she wanted to see her mum only to be told I was not allowed, in the end I was allowed quickly to pop in and see her and my grandson. I am a 67 year old lady that through my years have respect for people and be more compassionate to other people, if you can't do that then you should not be in that job working in reception, l had all my children on the labour ward back in the day, it was nicer and the reception staff lovely and caring, what happened to humanity . On a nicer note thank you to the midwives and doctors that were lovely and took care of my daughter, maybe reception staff should take note and learn it takes nothing to be kind and respectful. As the saying goes if you can't be kind then say nothing at all.
