Beautiful architecture, simply stunning! It used to have the oldest tower in Europe at one point. We had free admission - not sure if it was because we got there late afternoon and was a bank holiday? Well worth a visit! Make sure you also use the light projector to show you where the IMP is to!! (£2?)

A visit to Lincoln Cathedral is a must if your ever in the city. Its absolutely stunning inside and out. Its £11 per adult which includes a guided tour (times may vary). There is plenty of information on the the history of the construction of the Cathedral as you walk around. There is also a gift shop and cafe situated at the exit.

We spent the day at the Cathedral with a lunch break nearby as the cafe was very popular and therfore packed. Such an amazing building. You have to pay for entry, which is the norm these days as they've got to maintain the building somehow; it costs them 18p a second apparently. We did two tours today: a roof tour and a floor tour (free), both were well worth it. There is an extra cost for the roof tour and these are limited to 14 people with there being two tours a day. The roof tour is outstanding and takes you to places you can never usually visit, not for the faint of heart though as there are tight spots and great heights to be overcome. The floor tour was very informative regarding the entire history of the Cathedral and our tour guides on both were very knowledgable. I now realise that you can't have a Cathedral without a Bishops Throne (Cathedra). Well worth your time. Uphill Lincoln is the place to be.

Even though all cathedrals are stunning, this one is particularly special. Well worth a visit and absolutely worth taking the additional tour up to the roof for the additional information and spectacular views. The location of many scenes from films including the recent Napoleon, and of course home to a famous Imp!

Incredible place to walk around and admire the incredible skill it must've taken to create this beautiful place. Very easy to leave a well-deserved donation with cash or a card. You might be lucky enough to see and hear the choir rehearsing. Well worth the walk up the hill. The grounds, castle and shops in the are great too

A magnificent building, well wirth the steep walk up to it. I did the normal ground tour at 1030 which was really informative, it was lovely to see the light coming through what is now my favourite stained glass window - the bishops eye. At 3pm i did the roof tour - i always enjoy these at cathedrals but have never done one as it was getting dark before. It was an experience I'll never forget.

It was brilliant and stained glass windows gorgeous. Found a quiet place for a prayer . Didn't like the paper guide as it was dark purple with red circles and writing not clear and no difference when I turned torch on. Little labels at places would be better. But I lived coming back and will do so again.

Lincoln Cathedral is a marvel of Gothic architecture dating back to 1072. Legend has it that in medieval times a mischievous imp burst into the Lincoln Cathedral, but was quickly cornered on a pillar by an angel and turned to stone. The impish figure, known as the Lincoln Imp, a symbol of divine intervention, can be spotted in the cathedral. Definitely it's worth hearing the tale by the cathedral's guide. It's also worth visiting the cathedral for Luxmuralis, a captivating light and sound experience.
