Firstly
location.
The
site
is
set
in
the
rolling
countryside
just
outside
Kendal.
It
is
not
centre
lakes,
so
that
would
need
a
drive.
Against
that
you
get
glorious
peace
and
tranquility
at
a
fraction
of
the
price.
Your
location
depends
on
your
requirements,
and
that
isn't
part
of
my
review.
The
Italians
have
a
saying
"A
fish
rots
from
the
head".
This
is
especially
true
of
a
caravan
site,
if
you
get
a
Richard
Head
for
an
owner
you
invariably
get
the
same
clientele.
The
converse
is
true.
The
owner,
Valerie,
is
lovely
and
took
the
trouble
to
come
out
and
greet
us
as
we
walked
the
dogs.
Fred,
her
partner,
manages
the
site
and
is
truly
brilliant.
Nothing
is
too
much
trouble,
when
we
arrived
be
was
helping
an
old
chap
put
up
an
awning.
We
found
the
other
campers
to
be
cheerful,
friendly
and
polite.
Great
atmosphere.
Now
the
site.
I
have
NEVER
seen
a
site
more
lovingly
built
and
tended.
It
has
not
a
blade
of
grass
out
of
place,
from
the
entrance
to
the
pitches
it
is
kept
to
perfection.
The
pitches
are
adequate
sizewise
if
not
generous,
and
flat.
Each
pitch
has
water
and
electric.
Now
the
showers
and
loos.
I'm
pretty
sure
they
are
cleaner
than
a
hospital
operating
theatre
and
unless
I'm
mistaken
the
showers
have
underfloor
heating.
Seriously.
Luxury
!
Price
was
£27
per
night,
for
what
you
get
nationwide
it
is
cheap
these
days.
For
the
lakes
it
is
a
real
bargain.
The
dog
run
could
be
bigger
but
OK
for
pee
and
poo
at
night,
but
there
are
great
dog
walks
straight
from
the
site.
Obviously
its
the
Lakes.
Beware
of
sheep
WiFi.
11Mb
and
free.
Say
WHAT?
11Mb
on
a
rural
location.
Colour
me
flabbergasted
Finally
a
site
must
be
viewed
against
alternatives
and
the
nearest
one
is
Spital.
Both
have
pluses.

Spital

the

and

Ashes
is
about
2.5
miles
to
a

and
4
to
the

So..
conclusion.
Forgetting
the
location,
I
have
never
been
to
a
more
lovingly
put
together
and
tended
site.
It
is
perfect,
I
cannot
find
a
criticism.
If
you
have
a
caravan,
campervan,
or
are
wanting
an
overnight
in
a
motorhome
en
route
then
this
is
the
site
for
you.
No
comparison,
no
debate.
No
kids
so
no
noise
and
bouncing
balls.
Common
sense
caveat.
If
you
have
a
large
motorhome
and
are
staying
for
a
while
then
you
may
find
the
town
centre
location
of
Spital
better
for
you,
or
if
you
have
kids.
This
isn't
a
reflection
on
the
site
it
is
just
the
nature
of
the
choice
between
town
centre
and
country.
You
either
choose
a
stunning
site
a
little
out
of
town
or
a
farmers
field
by
a
busy
road
in
town.
Depends
on
your
needs.
I
gave
this
site
5
stars
for
everything
in
the
review.
I'm
changing
it.
I'm
making
it
10
stars
.
The
owners
are
worth
a
2
times
bonus.
One
to
treasure,
one
to
revisit
time
and
time
again..
Excuse
the
photo
quality.
We
arrived
late
and
dusk
and
a
slight
mistake
were
descending,
they
don't
do
the
site
justice.
