This place deserves all the great reviews that it has already received. We had a superb meal here. The food could not be faulted and it was some of the best cooking we have ever tasted. The two front of house ladies were both friendly and knowledgeable and were very professional. Worth a visit here if you are in the area or live a hundred miles away. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy.

We celebrated our anniversary by visiting the Waddling Duck for the first time. The only downside was that we had not discovered the restaurant earlier. The food was absolutely wonderful, all of the flavours hinted at in the menu flooded onto the palate making the whole experience a culinary delight. The service was also top drawer, friendly and efficient. We will certainly be returning soon to sample more of the delights. Excellent! 👍

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 course Sunday Lunch to celebrate the eve of his 70th birthday. A special mention goes to our lovely server who was a darling

Brilliant little find. Celebrating two birthdays. Bistro is small but perfectly sized for great service and food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone

Found this place by exploring the area on Google maps and seeing the rave reviews. This place lived up to the hype! Lovely little place, a 20 minute walk from where we were staying (Babbacombe). The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive.

Had a 3 course meal here tonight with my wife while on holiday on the Torbay area. It was probably the best meal we've had in many many years! We simply could not fault anything at all. The service was warm and friendly, the ambiance was lovely and the food was simply fantastic! We wished we lived closer, but next time we are in Devon we will make sure to book way in advance. We popped in on Sunday on the off-chance and managed to get one of the only slots they had available this week. There is just one chef in the kitchen and how he turns out such brilliant food is amazing. Thankyou for making our stay so memorable.

A chance encounter in the local pub with the owner led to us booking a table here and we were not disappointed! What a charming, relaxing and attentive restaurant. We had an exceptionally delicious meal with great service and good wine. Thoroughly recommend

Discovered this lovely bistro a couple of years ago and it has become a firm favourite. Its not huge so has a lovely intimate atmosphere, whether a celebratory meal or just meeting friends/family it suits all occasions. Menu has a good selection and chages with the seasons. Chef produces great dishes, consistently and Lydia is excellent front of house. Recommend you book to guarantee a table.

We love this small restaurant which has a great atmosphere, super food and hospitality. Imaginative menus choices which change during the year.

Picked The Waddling Duck largely due to the wide gluten free options on the great menu and other positive reviews. Phoned ahead to check with chef for intolerance, nothing was to much. Lydia was warm, welcoming very personable and extremely accommodating. The food was out of this world! Every dish was prepared to perfection. Every plate and bowl from our 3 courses left completely empty. Couldn't recommend here enough. Couldn't have found a better place to celebrate our special occasion.

A family meal to celebrate an 18th birthday. Absolutely wonderful! The food was amazing, and the staff were so lovely. They had even put some balloons and a birthday banner up around our table which was such a lovely and much appreciated touch.

Stunning - better than some of the so called fine dining restaurants. The food was fabulous, the staff very attentive and friendly and well worth a visit. I don’t see how any one can be disappointed, I only wish they’d expand.

Enjoyed a fabulous dining experience - great food and absolutely amazing staff. Quite unique and so refreshingly different to the run of the mill restaurants you may visit. Wish we were here longer to visit again but we go home tomorrow 😭

What a little gem!!. The food was fabulous and the service was magnificent. The price of the wine was very reasonable. We both had the cheese and leek soufflé, my wife had the lamb cooked nice and pink and I had the hake. However the star of the night was the soufflé. It was stunning, light as a feather. It was the best starter we have had in a long time. Superb restaurant and deserves all the five star reviews it gets

Absolutely fantastic food, wonderful service and a great environment. Perfect for groups and parties. It's hard to choose a favourite as I sampled other people's dishes from the menu but the pork belly and braised beef cheek were absolutely sublime 🥂

Excellent bistro great food, warm and friendly staff, we had a nice relaxed meal without being hurried along. The place is a real gem, totally agree with all the really good reviews, booking essential, restaurant was full the evening we went (tables nicely spaced out). Looking forward to going again

Fabulous small bistro. Great food; cassoulet was superb and the roast duck was wonderful. Lydia was a fantastic host. Relaxed atmosphere. We will be returning. Sorry but it was so good the only photo I have is of an empty plate.
